2023 UC and CSU College Reactions!!

hi! my name is josef, and i applied as a computer science major (data science backup where applicable) for all my colleges. I applied to colleges as an undergrad this year too as a California resident. I also got rejected from UC Berkeley, but that wasn't even my top choice and I'm really really satisfied with my decisions. Congratulations on your admissions!! It's interesting how a lot of people got in with their alt majors for UCSD this year. I was so busy at the time of decision release for UCSD that my mom had to check my UCSD portal without me in the same room. I think she said I got in with my intended major (psychology) but doesn't remember the college LOL.

Congratulations!! I’m just a random mom waiting for my sons college decisions to mostly the same schools. He is transfer so it comes later this month. Sigh! 🎉 what an exciting time of life for you :)

congrats man, i got waitlisted at UCSD and UC Irvine so we will see what happens with that but im basically committed for UCSC so im happy with that :)

Great job man, though my application is nowhere near as exemplary as yours, I'm aiming for either CalPoly, University of Michigan, or Georgia Tech outside of California. Inside I'm looking at practically every single UC.

As a Upland High School graduate (Class of 95) and UCSB graduate I hope you pick UCSB! UCSB had (hopefully still has) a double Econ + CS program.

unfortunately i ended up choosing ucsd as they gave me more financial aid, but ucsb is so nice!! i plan to do data science with a business specialization with a double major in economics anyways so kinda similar maybe?

@@jmko6235 Sounds similar. It's interesting to see they have data science as a major now. UCSB wasn't as highly ranked as UCSD back then, I probably would have ended up going to UCSD if I gotten in. I did love my experience at UCSB, but it's just a fact given I really didn't have much direction back then and I would have just picked the "best" school that accepted me. My HS friend went to UCSD and his only complaint was the lack of social life there.
