Ive been surfing for over 60 years. Left USA in 1970 , my first trip to hawai'i. Then traveled the world for years b4 settling on Kaua'i. I still continued surfing internationally altho my home bcame Kaua'i. One day i met a girl, again, and followed her to Aotearoa. Ive bn here 5 years now. In my late 60's 15-20 ft Hanalei got to b abit demanding so i thought ive "retired" here. But it was a difficult transition. One nite, actually maybe early a.m. i stumbled on these guyz torren n ishka's first film on their trip to New Zealand. Just what i needed. Even tho the waves were not especially great, the art of these 2 guyz doin what the do inspired me Torrens surfing is all i ever aspired to . The clean lines connecting in his life style touched me greatly. Its bn awhile and i never heard of " surf splendor" until recently. Now there r tons of surfing podcasts which i find at random. Anyway, good onya torren n ishka for what u do. The comment about lookin at your story 30-40 years from now got my attention. Now, in my life, i lived during black wetsuits and no cameras . Shunning competitions and surfing the world of Peru, Brazil, South Africa, Australia, Fiji, Bali ,Java, and even remote jungles of Papua New Guinea b4 ASP or turn of Bronzed Aussies.now in New Zealand, Made me think, " what my life woulda looked like bhind a good film or camera man.
Cheers to u all! The stories r the history of our tribe. Carry on !!

The Shipsterns section in the fourth part of lost track was one of the most phenomenal surf-cinematographic achievements ever crafted in my humble opinion. Fitting coda to a mind-blowing series.
