I was on train to LA from san diego and it was front business page wall street journal day after it happened. I literally LOL on the train becauae I left that world 8yrs proir. I built my first board 1970 at age 13. I met a guy named Terry Goldsmith soon after he had also built his first board.we made a excellent team he shaping me glassing. We both got very good at building and surfing. I went to Canyon 1977 Terry went to G&S...we still had a thriving backyard biz🤣. My 25+ yrs of working in the biz both bitter and sweet. After 25yrs I got sick of dealing with stupid people in a incestuous industry. Went back to college got engineer degree in my 30s and never looked back. Side note: just started building my personals in the backyard...back to roots I guess 🤙

Pro surfing should run their competitive events around single swell events that are in the water and can be forecast, the waiting period is stupid and the local on the beach thing is a distraction and confuses the people guiding the sport. Niche down, focus on the core, the waves, stop making the surfers into robots, and put the surfers in the best conditions. It's like formula one drivers racing Honda Accords or rock climbers doing easy routes; it would never happen so why can't the stewards figure that out. The only trestles event I can even remember was Kelly in his star shorts? black and white? I'm not looking it up but my point is I don't care what happens there and I only will if a lot of things line up: if the whole tour is compelling, with interesting personalities and competition, real drama imo, I could be interested in see Kelly versus AI at Lowers but in general it's a nothing for me to watch it.

The SPIT podcast is driving me away from TH-cam, just as the WSL is driving the core fan base. Seriously, we can’t play the full SPIT intro while on the TH-cam platform?? Just like the star spangled banner, the intro gets my blood pumping and in the right frame of mind to fully dive in and indulge. I am one of the OG TH-cam switchovers, please don’t make me go back to podcast form, it would be like going from 3D back to 2D.

I think this guy must have spent a lot of time around entertainment industry people; they have such a strange, distinct way of talking, almost like a different set of assumptions about what talking is and for why one does it. Steve Martin was the best at playing it up; "sleeping with starlets, absolutely not, we made a rule". Most NJ beaches allow fisherman and surfers to access the water without having to pay for a badge, as long as you don’t intend on hanging out on the beach. For some reason, Belmar will charge regardless - which I think is where the problem lies, as there is not much clarification from the state about ocean access vs beach access. As someone from Belmar area, I avoid the beach there during the summer months because I’ve had similar experiences (although not as extreme) as the surfer that got arrested. Sad to see how things escalated.

Here's the thing the whole drug war thing it's got to end. Now's the Time. And so if people start talking. And don't play dumb here. It's a true fact of life these things. The illegals. As in drugs not people. If people start talking they better be exempt from like going to prison or jail or the court system here in Hawaii with what I just brought up enough. And you know how everybody's all family here and it's true. So yeah.

There's just one thing to add to the self-medication illegal test project. For us very stressful workers here number 9 Richter scale. Now the Italians they let their kids have a glass of wine now then I'm not saying anything I actually don't drink alcohol. It was an after-work thing I'm okay. But now you're going to have to figure out taxes. You got to pay Hawaii tax for those buggers and also don't forget about the United States of America.
