- 'Nordurland' is a film about going surfing in the harsh, cold waters of the North Atlantic. It follows three friends from the subtropical northern rivers of NSW Australia, surfers Torren Martyn and Laurie Towner, as well as needessentials founder and designer Ryan Scanlon as they travel to isolated, snow covered coastlines in search of remote waves. Filmmaker Ishka Folkwell, beautifully captures these vast and stunning landscapes on screen. Set to an original soundtrack composed for the film by Headland, glaciers, mountains and powerful icy surf all come to life in this adventure to the far north. Torren Martyn's narration throughout the film offers a personal reflection on the trip and a real glimpse into the challenges and rewards of traveling to frozen, distant lands in search of surf.

Never saw an 'upside down waterfall' before. Incredible cinematography. Joy to watch. These guys make it look easy but don't be fooled... Surfing in such a remote area and in VERY cold temperatures is very dangerous. I used to surf in winter here on Long Island but never encountered huge globs of ice floating around me! Kudos to all involved with the making of this film. Love the original score... Great stuff. 🌝❤✌👍

The way Torren cuts across at 9:42 is incredible. 9/10 people would have been caught by the white water. Amazing video, surfing, and landscapes. I love the ocean so much, I can't imagine growing up in a landlocked country.

This is the best surf vid ever. Or maybe not but it touched me profoundly. I visited Iceland briefly once and was taken by the beauty. And this video drives that initial meeting home. Wow, wow, WOW! Certainly demonstrates how good wetsuits are now. I began surfing in the early 70s in a location where winter water temps got to about 12/14 Celsius, nothing as cold as this. Yet we still froze, couldn’t button cloths up before riding my bicycle home after a session.

Lofoten or Norway and Ewen north of Norway dosent ewen look close to anything over there in Iceland where this was being filmed

Epic scenery and great soundtrack, inspiring stuff, what all surf journeys should consist of (including beer in ice bag!!)
3 wonderful surfers. 1 is the great grinder and will have go at anything; he's proficient, smooth, nothing flash. The 2nd is the guy with so much talent yet doesn't flaunt it; will go any size waves, nothing flashy when he does a manoeuvre or try to look like he's doing something more than he is, and then there is the 3rd guy that has a lot of talent, tries to look as though he is grass roots yet throws his arms when he's not even doing a turn. All very talented. Which surfer would you want to be?

Great value for money wetsuits. Have a hooded winter and a 4/3 suit. Build quality is very good and there's a angle chest entry zip that makes them easier to take off than other chest zipped suits. Good buys.
Cinematic as the previous commentator, Noah, says and the music perfectly suits the cold white / blue arctic palette. Sections of the music remind me of Olafur Arnalds or Nils Frahm?
