Kevin should get out his phone and start filming more of his day-to-day stuff for the channel. Everything from routine tractor maintenance to plowing a field.
Rich and Kevin, Fawcett Tractor Supply in St Marys ON (8 minutes from my house) have 3 units similar in stock for wrecking. They show a 9150, 9230 and a 9250. Not sure if they are power shift or not, their web page doesn’t say. Two have burned, one worse than the other. They might just be a straight parts swap if they are interchangeable, and not damaged for what you require/need. They might even have parts in storage from past demolitions. Check their web page under salvaged agriculture and you should see the three of them. Hope this helps. Always loved the channel and the tractor spin today is great. LOL, would have loved one of the Welkers to have popped up from behind the cab.
@@darcykeyaus Since Rich gives responses here I figured he see it eventually. That said, it is not a bad idea to send an email. I never thought he’d have one posted in the video description, but there is a contact email listed. I will send him the same message there as well and maybe he will see it quicker.
This was an especially fun video to watch because I worked at a Case IH assembly plant for 6 1/2 years where I was a tester/utility guy so basically had to know every assembly station on the line and watching u guys with the cab in the air really brought back some memories as I routinely installed cabs along with everything else. Great vid, got me nostalgic 👍
Kevin is a natural in front of the camera. Doesn’t need improv on what to explain what he’s done/doing and all round top bloko. Love seeing him on the channel!
Working on older Steigers is fun, you can see there's a lot of engineering left from when they were designed by the actual Steigers company. It's like industrial Lego!
I love watching you and Kevin working together on farm machines. I worked as a agricultural engineer in my twenties so understand the fun involved. My first job was crawling inside a mf combine to remove dead rats . Waiting for pt 2 guys. Regards from England .
150 hours per season ? Wow, thats nothing at all. My brothers and I ran the 9370's on our custom tillage and leveling biz would put 2000 hours per machine times 3 each " season " which of course in Arizona about 10 months long. Ours are/ were synchro range trannys as well. Thankfully never had an issues with 2 of the 3, but have upgraded since 1997. Love what Kevin always brings to this channel, that combined with Mr. Bosch's ingenuity and freaking amazing applied knowledge, you guys always leave me smiling, informed and entertained ! Loved and thoroughly enjoyed this video ! Warmest Regards from Arizona.
I have no business or interest in watching videos on farm machinery....... But here I am watching it till the end and loving every minute. Must be the deboss affect!
The best mechanic’s I have ever met ( bar one who went to college, and was a monstrous bell end) have been farmers, not only feeding the world but also keeping it rolling!
Some of the best mechanics I've met were Farmer, Truck, Plant and Military. They've got good skills, sense of humour but whatever trade your in there's usually bellends and at least 1 cunt that's worse
Necessity, and them having so many mechanical things (trucks, tractors, combines, semis, mowers, forklifts, front end loaders, etc.). From when they are young until they are elderly, they are constantly working on their equipment. That is why the right to repair is so important.
Awesome video as always Rich. Luv seeing you and Kevin together, you two seem happiest getting neck deep in shit and really getting stuck right into as much crap as possible. Best videos on TH-cam. Thanks for sharing
Had a 1980 Stiger very easy to work on transmission was a 10 speed Eaton easy to repair. Not today very complicated, glad I don’t have to worry about it anymore.
Even electronic oil sensors aren't foolproof, we had a Nissan where the sensor failed by blowing a hole straight through it, and then not send an error to the gauge. So not only did it spew all the oil from the engine, it was also the failsafe to tell us that the engine was loosing oil pressure! And to make matters even funnier, this happened twice (but the second time we checked it regularly, so we caught it before too much harm was done).
Get ahold of Big Tractor Parts out of Hawley MN they specialize in steiger tractors and good people to deal with. They'll have the parts or transmission or even a powershift ... Keep up the good work fellas 👍👍👍
Doing a 9130 powershift right now. Run it up on blocks about 18 inches pull the seat pop the floor pan and driveline. Hang the hydraulic pump hook a hoist to a forklift boom pull themounts and drop the transmission onto a skate and slide her out. 4.5 hrs and it's on the floor. The stx and newer steigers come out the top
I just got a 9330 and I think the tranny isn't quite right, it makes a bit of noise when you put it in forward gear and disengage the clutch pedal. It shifts quite rough also. How did you know your tranny was in a need of repair? Gear slipping? Also, what do you think of the tractor in general?
I hope an M11 is better for that beast. Cause in an international loaded at 80 thousand pounds plus it suuuucccckkkkkkksssss! Oddly enough I am doing same job as this on a different tractor. Got er back together today. Gotta get the lift arm assembly back on in the morning and waiting for filters to show up tomorrow.
A good Guy to get ahold of, is a TH-camr, Western Truck, and Tractor Repair..He may be able too help you out. Hes a Hell of a Mechanic and works on all different kinds of Tractors and Trucks. That looked like alot of Work Guys.Good job so Far..Great Video...
I have my 9380 going into the shop right now for the exact same job, mine is the 24 speed of that makes a difference. Big Tractor Parts out of the states seems to be pretty good at getting parts. Shop that is going to do mine just did a 12 speed last year, he had to put all new shift cables and master clutch cable in as well as 2 syncro’s, all new seals and maybe some bearings. Parts and labour was about $25,000. But it sounded like parts were a 5 week wait once you figured out what thickness of synco you need
I kid you not Richie I'm operating one of these at this very moment and this came up in my feed!!!!!! I do watch and subscribe but what are the chances!!
Glad to see you guys pulled the tranny out the top, that is the easiest way to it. And yeah, have to remove that one side mount. That is the first manual tranny I have seen, all that I have done have been powershift. Not a difficult tranny to work on, just heavy parts and potential to get hurt, ...work smart and stay safe. I use a large split gear puller and a 10 ton hydraulic cylinder with pull rods to get the gears off the shafts. Heat the bearings in an old electric skillet (375F) with peanut oil when you are ready to install, ...they will just slip right on.
Hey Kevin. Next time when you want to avoid the diesel bath. Put a shop vac in the filler cap and plug any breathers on the tank while you change the hose with a plug. Cost conscience.... lol...Dutch
great video those manual trans steigers are a nightmare to get parts for for sure. I have owned a couple with powershift but most dealers here in the states won't even touch them they say take it to junk yard or bring us a trans from junk yard. Hope ur buddy can find all the parts he needs
I really enjoy seeing you and Kevin work together ! Very interesting video ! I noticed the phone you used as a flashlight and remembered hearing you comment on a Deboss Garage video a while back that you were on your 3rd ? phone. Anyhow I'm quessing you may be interested in knowing that Cat ya them has a line of heavy duty phones ! I've seen them on e-bay it said they are waterproof and have gorilla glass that will withstand a 5 foot drop on to a steel plate !
Good thing he went for the tall shop. If only it had a concrete floor. But hey dirt's is some what flat and the forklift didn't sink so it's a good day.
There are a handful of wreckers in Saskatchewan and Alberta that might have parts . Loeffelholz tractor and combine salvage in cudworth SK has a substantial inventory. I should be able to hook you up with a digital Service manual for the 9350. Most CNH dealers will now provide a e book anyways after the right to repair bill moved forward in the states.
Hi from uk rich👍👋 nice to see kevin lending a hand again😂👍 and you guys did great popping the tranny out of that gap lol credit to the pallet for taking it on😂 and once you guys get in to gear it will be great content love seeing things romoved reworked and rebuilt on your channels great guys man 👍 thanks for your time and be safe see you soon guys👍👋
Good see Kevin on the wrenches. Not going want throw too many new parts in this gearbox unless win the lottery Be good if could find a donor box and make a good one from 2 with minimal new parts . I pretty sure I heard Rich say give him the bill seems you been so generous with your forklift lol . Good luck guys, hate have pull this box twice :-)
That is a heck of a job. Does anyone else think it's weird seeing them red from this generation of Steiger? Probably just me growing up with the green ones I guess.
Snead equipment in Alabama might have something I know the rebuild Fuji transmissions like crazy and a full rebuilt ps is $30k. If your looking for salvage powershift stuff get of Facebook look for the steiger group there is a guy with red steiger salvage parts he might have a cab and harnesses. Could check Eldridge Supply, Bennett Tractor, and I think it's called Dumas Tractor all of which is in Arkansas. There is another place called Boothill in Missouri that has salvage tractor parts as well. Hope that helps

The thing I respect the most about mechanics is that they know how to put it all back together.
Curious enough to take it apart
Skilled enough to put it back together
Clever enough to hide the extra bolts when I'm done
That’s all I was thinking the whole video
Dig the videos with tractors and Kevin!
We have a lot of fun

Kevin's a cool cat, always like seeing him.
Always a good day when the heavy equipment gets worked on
You have clearly never worked on heavy equipment
Good day ? Is when liquor is involved
It’s a BAD day when heavy equipment needs worked on….
Love the tractor videos rich, you and Kevin make some good content together.

Use a vacuum on the tank filler so when a line is disconnected it will draw air in rather that spilling out. Cool video guys.
