I like seeing Kevin actually fixing his own stuff. Not many farmers are willing to dig in as deep as he does in repairs. I try to do as much as i can at home on the farm as well.
I tried that idea my friend. Then I realised I’m not a qualified mechanic and I’m just not that good at it surprise surprise. I have a great relationship with a local mechanic and he’s become a good friend.
@fowletm1992 I know that but the stuff he is doing on video here really isn't that hard because most of his equipment is older stuff. People are just intimidated by stuff they know nothing about but you don't learn without trying.
@@Farmer1277 Most of the new new stuff is also still mechanics with some electronics on top. Problem is figuring out if the mechanical part failed or the electronic. And that is a bit hard at times. And getting parts again.
Kevin is such a quality guy. Oh, Rich, you are too...geez.. Watching the brakes being bled reminds me of my dad telling me, "Give me three" as we finished up the brakes on his truck when I was probably 8 or 9 years old.
With Kevin being a Case mechanic in his past it's like an abusive relationship of him sticking with his Case machines because he knows how to fix them despite them braking down. It's however some of the best videos, because Kevin has such a can do and positive personality, which one must have to be able to be a farmer!
Soo so pleased you did this video! We’ve been having this problem on our MX135 for the last 4 or 5 years! It’s been a bit of a head scratcher! Will give it a go ourselves now! Cheers
@@ShainAndrews sadly our Case dealer packed up many years ago. We’ve been using some of the ex fitters who went solo though they have all retired now! The 2 replacement Case dealers let’s just say, sell new ones.
@@Leverton-Brothers Gotcha. I've always had access to all the dealers. Much of the time they tell me what the problem is. Up to me if I pursue it or have them handle it.
Glad you mentioned the reservoir above the brake master cylinders on these! We have an older International 885XL which uses the same system (tap from the oil cooler line fills the reservoir with the drain via a standpipe) and had that problem occur a few times. The quick fix is to pull the drain line, slide the steel pipe back up in to the reservoir and then refit. A more permanent fix is to either glue or pin the steel pipe in to place
Talking about pinching o-rings, I was working a big job with big weird hard to source o-rings and some how we got one that had a spot that was smaller in diameter than the rest. So the system leaked and we had to really scramble to find a replacement for the replacement.
Rich nice to see Kevin on screen again he keeps it real ,is he a Mechanic/Farmer or a Farmer/ Mechanics because he seems to really know what he,s doing 😊😊 Kym Adelaide
Great job guys! I look at that tractor with every piece of glass, curved and tempered and ask why? Other than the manufacture locking up the market for selling very expensive replacement glass.
It's a fallacy that you pay for curves. Tempered because it is fing safer than big ass shards coming for your soft fleshy bits. You probably buy into planned obsolescence too...
I just got hold of a 5150, would I be right in thinking it’s pretty much identical? Please keep doing the videos on the MX really handy for 51 series owners too. The PTO video was super interesting. Looking forward the the handbrake video. Mine is also on the end of its travel😬. Keep up the good work guys 🚜💨
Ah Canada's answer to Top Gear, except it's only two middle aged men, that are in their barn clothes, and they're mucking aboot with farm machinery... Come to think of it, it's like Letterkenny meets Top Gear EH...🤣🤣🤣 "It's a hard life picking stones and pulling teats, but sure as God's got sandals, it beats fighting dudes with treasure trails." "When a friend asks for help, you help him" "Agricultural Halls are for agricultural music! Not for fuckin' raves!" You really need to start doing a cold opening like Wayne...🤣🤣🤣
Does Kevin have any Case ih sprayers or floater trucks? I built and tested those for nearly seven years and know every inch of them so if he ever had a question I could most likely answer it. We also built cotton pickers but I’m guessing he doesn’t have one of those! 🤣
These tractors had such decent potential and such poor execution. The pto is a pain, brake masters had 10 updates, the piston seals on the brakes, trans faults without any indication as to why. If you know how to fix them they are ok but they will put you in the poor house fast if you are paying to keep them going.
I likes videos with kevin
Kevin is the GOAT
He’s low key hilarious
"Why don't you have new things Kevin" ?? "I don't have my own TH-cam channel".. 😂😂😂
I love that this channel exists. Farmers are the unsung heroes.

At least he can fix them. How much could he fix if it was a John Deer? We all know the answer and that would be F*ck All.
Thanks for the video guys 👍
I love how patient Kevin is when he's teaching Rich 😂

That’s how it should be!
The dealers are struggling with ‘flighty’ staff as well which must really hurt after the training costs.
Always great to see kev in a video. The way he talks makes it feel like yer in the garage with a old buddy

The perfect mother's day video drop...killing it Deboss❤
Did this a few years back on our jx1100u, pretty straight forward, good job.
Great video with Kevin! This is a very common repair, they are awesome tractors
Seeing Kevin working on a concrete floor changes the whole dynamic..
Old farmer told me "You don't have to sweep a dirt floor". Hard to argue with that logic
I reckon he was remembering the good old days when the oil leaked 🤣

Hi DGHD & it's is Randy and i like yours video is cool & Thanks DGHD & Friends Randy
I love videos with Kevin in them!😊
Great video, really like watching you guys work.
I'll be doing this soon, along with replacing busted bolt heads on the diff to axles
This was interesting for me. You two work so well together.
I really enjoy these videos! I wish y’all did more of them!
“How many tractors do you need?” …”uh..Yes…”
Can't have enough
All of them
nothing like doing time sensitive work that could cost you your income for the year and your 1 machine is down.
Lol, so glad Kevin is not a member of the Milwaukee cult, so many equal options out there. 😊Great video
These guys are hilarious, great chemistry!
Great job
I love all the agriculture stuff. 👍👍
😮 very interesting brake set-up!

Kevin needs his own you tube channel
Who needs brakes anyways? The less you use the brakes the faster you are in the race.
....
Oh sorry, wrong movie! 😁😁😁
cool stuff
Nice old White tractor. Can we get a walk around all the gear he has one day if he is up for it?

The TH-cam channel "Junkyard Digs" says: "Who needs brakes? They only slow you down."......😂
What about doing brakes for views?😉
Would this be the same on the NH TL 90 tractors? Good vid need to do similar job.
Do you use rtv for the goop or like an aviation style sealant?
Literally tells you... But here you are...
How would you do that without a forklift? Is an engine hoist strong enough to lift the hub assembly?
Another banger video with rich and kevin!
Does this case uses mineral oil based fluid brakes?

that lot easyer than the boom lift i worked on each wheel has brake setup 10054 telehandler pain ass

Wow,I guess we know where all the engineers who made cars impossible to repair went to work. Actually that didn't look to bad.

Would it really be a farm repair if there wasn't a jackall jack involved(one farmer to another) lol
