@@Fitforacting Definitely! The "wow" factor on the huge full screen is certainly something else! I'd hate to have to have it replaced if it is past warranty, though.
I used to think the EQS was a hideous egg shaped car but it strangely grew on me! I especially think it looks great in darker colors. I saw the first AMG EQS on the streets a few days ago and it looked like a space ship.
Oh absolutely. There nothing REGAL, or ELEGANT about this car. Looks like every other 25.000 dollar car on the street. If you took the badging, name off, doubt anyone would guess its a Mercedes.
It looks like a Volkswagen econobox from the outside, but the interior is gorgeous. Also I've watched Soyfan since 2013. Almost a million subs. Congrats!!!!
"Extremely Questionable". Yup, that's what the EQ stands for in my mind. And it mostly applies to the cookie cutter lazy styling. Mercedes is basically like, "Look, this is what all of our EVs are going to look like - very slight variations of the last. No more effort on our part. Take it or leave it."
Right! It's crazy because I think the interiors are beautiful. The exterior doesn't match the interiors level of excellence as a MB should. They say the styling is all about aerodynamics but I would happily take less range in order to have better looks. Rivians are good examples of how aerodynamics doesn't have to be the most important detail in electric vehicles.
The brown and white interior is pretty. Much better than the ever common black or gray. I don’t remember the exact model years but the rear end looks just like the older ford escort.
Anyone buying a Model S over is crazy. This is the standard and way better quality. Tesla's are failing their first few hundred miles on the road and having catostrophic failure.
I just wish the screens would be more integrated into the dashes on all of these cars. They always look like someone just stuck an iPad on at the last minute. Overall this is a beautiful car.
People talk a lot about styling of the Mercedes EQ Family. Cars will not be boxy again. The wind tunnel determines shape. I personally notice an EQS everytime I pass one on the road. I don't notice E or S Classes...IMO those have a tired, not distinctive shape. Mercedes has always struggled with rear end styling on sedans. I think the EQ Rears look much better than the soft, smushed/pinched rears of the ICE S Class & C Class.
When I saw the EQS at my dealer, I was underwhelmed. So when I saw the EQE, I was surprised at how much better it looked. Still, compared to the E-class sedan, which I now own, the electric vehicles’ exteriors are too generic. The interiors, though, are beautiful. BTW, I just saw the EQS SUV in traffic for the first time, and it had the kind of presence that I expect from a Mercedes. It was gorgeous!
It seems to me folks compare the luxury experience of the EQE with sportiness. Two different POVs regarding the RS or Taycan. See what happens when the AMG versions are out. Then you can compare apples to apples…
With looks like that (better then an EQS which is a low bar) it better have a good personality. That 170 kWh charging is slow, surprising vs. Genesis / Audi / Porsche
Beautiful car; I love the interior except for the piano black area. I really like the seats and hope they are still Merc ergonomically perfect. Surprised that the rear camera only shows the direct rear and not left and right rear side views. Impressive effort!.
We are approaching a tipping point. How long before all new cars will be EV's or hybrids? 2028 maybe? By this time next year, every auto manufacture on Earth will have at least 1 EV and several Hybrids in their lineup.
Having rented more than a few electric vehicles, I’m all for hybrids that have an engine also. Being stranded in a brick is no fun. These are for home use, short distances, and unless they come with free road service for life… I’m out.
Great design work!! Let's make the hood totally invisible from the drivers seat, I mean what could go wrong! ? (Frankly if you have to use external cameras to see where you are going when you are parking, the designers buggered it up) and what happens if a small child or animal walks in from of the car? you won't see them from the drivers seat. (It may have anti collision warning, but if it does not work, you the driver will be responsible.)
From the driver seat there is a fixed line of sight. It is better to have a full view along the line of sight than have some parts of that obscured by the hood or parts of the vehicles. That's why the pillars of the cars are getting slimmer and away from where you'll glance when turning out joining a road from a cross junction.
I love it, and I didn't expect to as I generally can't stand Mercedes cars. This looks like a Zagato-styled (i.e. sensuously bulbous) Citroen C6, to my eyes.
Nice interior, people should be wearing gloves if the fingerprints bother them so much. Mercedes Experience in safety gives more realistic performance that wouldn’t smack normal people in their seats. The same glass tint all around looks always better than the split dark and clear.
Great review of the EQE but I lost track of the number if times you said, “WHAT NOT!” Drop it from your speech because it's meaningless filler, in my opinion. Otherwise, I always learn something new from your reviews. Thanks.
the EQ lineup haz been around for a few yearz. and i ztill haven't zeen any on the roadz, and electric carz are pretty common nowadayz. i bet mercedez iz lozing big money on the EQ lineup zo far!

IMO car manufacturers should focus on making bad ass cars that happen to be electric not contestants for a wind tunnel contest. The MB interior is amazing obviously but uninspiring exterior.
I was certain this was the same car as the EQS at first lol wish they would have differentiated the styling more. This new design language looks like a melted car.
Interiors in Mercedes S and E class have been second to none the past 5 years or so...EXCEPT for piano black consoles. They are scuff and scratch magnets and should NEVER be used IMO. Another review states that EQE small screen dash ONLY comes with piano black console. 👎
Lazy lazy lazy. Germans have become absolute lazy still doing Russian doll models. This is the same car scaled down why can't they make cars that look different that have their own personality.
I actually prefer that dash setup over the huge screen dash. It's a bit gimmicky to me...whereas this one is elegantly laid out.
But if you love streaming videos, that screen comes in handy

Hello 👋
From an EQS 580 owner perspective..the shorter version (aka EQE) looks even better. It looks sportier, I like it a lot!
I used to think the EQS was a hideous egg shaped car but it strangely grew on me! I especially think it looks great in darker colors. I saw the first AMG EQS on the streets a few days ago and it looked like a space ship.
It sadly looks like larger 2006 civic from outside .. doesn’t mean it’s bad but just that looses its regality. 😢
Oh absolutely. There nothing REGAL, or ELEGANT about this car. Looks like every other 25.000 dollar car on the street. If you took the badging, name off, doubt anyone would guess its a Mercedes.
The front is giving previous gen Honda Civic to me.
Lookin like a 2015 Honda Fit lol
Very true!
Which means that old Honda civic was beautiful!
@@greendusk93 I googled it and....no its not!

The interior is definitely way more exciting then the exterior!
I am looking forward to either models with a hyper screen and rear axle steering. Build quality is top notch and the cab forward design is impeccable.

The Styling is starting to grow on me. Im ok with it now.
This is my dream clean All-electric vehicle.
Thanks Sofyan for reviewing my dream car.
I think the organic shape works better on the slightly smaller wheelbase
Front end reminds of prev Gen Civic, CR-V, and HRV.
E class sized, S class priced, g class weighted
A 5500 lb vehicle with 400 horsepower accelerating to 60 in 4 seconds defies all logic.
Definitely looks better then the EQS
Everybody says it looks like an older civic every car on the market looks like some other car.
I like the 2023 Mercedes-Benz EQE 500
The backseats are no good. I will stay with next E class for one more generation.
Anyone buying a Model S over is crazy. This is the standard and way better quality. Tesla's are failing their first few hundred miles on the road and having catostrophic failure.
The starting MSRP is $85,900
I don't see the point, no one can get these cars. Most can't afford them, and those that can are unable to find them.
Because they aren’t yet for sale.😂
I don’t like how Mercedes makes lightbars, but the interior looks nice at least
This new shape reminds me of Chryslers cab-forward designed cars.

EQE 500 Nice Car
I'll take the ev6 or ioniq 5
😂 - seriously?
That white carpeting is gorgeous, however, it is probably a pain to main if you have kids riding in the back.
Do the back seats recline?
