Thanks for highlighting this story. In America you hear countless stories about people like Chris Watts or Scott Peterson. It’s good to see a true crime channel show the crimes against WOC and their children, which often the media ignores. We thank you.
The look on his face when the judge gave him the sentencing more emotional than when he was told that his son died…. So sad RIP to the Peters family ❤️
@@xkclearly666 Thats the problem. He should have at point been exclaiming his innocence. Screaming at the top of his lungs at the injustice of it all. Instead we see a man who's slowly excepting his fate and that he's lost the fight. GUILTY!

These stories are always so horrific, but when they involve children... it just breaks my heart. Thanks, Mike, for being so respectful and compassionate toward the victims.
I agree with you 100%! Occasionally, when I watch other true crime YT channels, I'll see someone comment talking *ish about how disrespectful mike is to the victims in the stories he shares, and how he is clearly just doing it for views, etc. etc. Most of the time i hop in and stick up for him. And I genuinely wonder what about mikes delivery etc. is disrespectful to the *victims*??? I see him disrespecting the perpetrators sometimes, but I see nothing wrong with that! Lol. When I ask em what they think is disrespectful, they usually say something along the lines of his jokes/dances etc, but I really don't see what they mean.🤷🏼♀️
I saw the children and thought it was going to be about Vincent Brothers murdering his wife, his mother in law and his kids. That was another despicable case.
I started watching That Chapter 2 maybe 3 years ago and i can’t even remember how it started, it just became apart of my lifestyle and now idk what i’d do without that weekly dose of Mike 😭❤️ good content per usual.
Me too! I don't remember life without regular doses of Mike - I actually re-watch his videos almost daily because I just need a pick me up after work. Edited to add - that makes me sound like a terrible human, needing murder as a pick me up but true crime fans know exactly what I mean!
I discovered him in 2020 and I listened to him everyday when I got my new job. They came into my life at the same time. I delivered the mail and Mike got me through many long, cold winter deliveries!
The worst thing is that police use the term "family annihilators" because it happens often enough to necessitate it. I hope no one I know or love ever has to deal with the aftermath of such a crime.
unfortunately i think all people end up the same when dead: just not existing . positive thing is there isn't negative feelings either like suffering. the family didn't deserve this. i too hope that the family would get to the kinder place :(
I usually listen to these videos while doing chores or cooking, but I always look up at the end to see his cute little wink. That and the “I love ya” always makes me smile. Thanks for all you do, Mike!
I don't understand how people can bring kids into these circumstances. The whole thing is a horror show. But I guess it feels good in the moment, so... let's go meet someone at a gas station and make a very unfortunate child!
The weird part for me is that if I were sitting next to him having a conversation on the bus, he would never strike me as someone capable of child murder. Same with Chris Watts. Murdering one's own child is just unfathomable, yet the people capable of it often come across as fairly normal. I guess it's part and parcel of what Hannah Arendt referred to as "the banality of evil".

Sooo very sad that those poor innocent children had to get caught up in this situation. I am sorry about their mom too , but the children had no control over their situation and it breaks my heart that they had to go through that. Thank you Mike for another GREAT video!
Starting at 22:22, the music begins, then as the picture fades, you left a small vote of silence and It touched me deeply. @@leahgolden7242 What I meant is that these aren't less or more suspenseful stories but real life tragedies. Sure, it's entertainment for us (I'm not denying that), but I still think we should stick to substantive/compassionate comments. Hope you didn't feel attacted by my reply, that wasn't my intention.
Heartbreaking. I’m just not convinced “Beyond a reasonable doubt” that it was him though. I wouldn’t be able to vote to convict him as guilty due to the evidence presented.😬
I wouldn't be able to vote guilty either. It just seems idk. There's no evidence physical or forensic that tied him to the scene. Nor any communication outside with potential hiring of killers.
It's definitely a tough case. I don't take too much stock in people's reactions. He may have cried at home and didn't want to be emotional with the police. The lying about the second cellphone and it being traced to Brandi's was pretty damning... along with the scratches but not enough to be totally sure. It's too bad the DNA under the finger nails couldn't be identified. That would have been the only sure way to know he was involved in the attack, as his DNA certainly would have been in the house where he would see his son. Tragic case and I'm not totally sure if the guilty verdict was right or not. If I was a juror I would have been unable to convict, like the first jury.
For real. Basically left the same comment. I just added that it’s because so many weak people out there that have to hurt someone else because they’ve been hurt 😢 so bad and can’t take it. Little punks . It doesn’t matter what’s been done to You that does not give You POS the right to hurt the persons .
His face when the judge say be quiet 😂. I’m a grown ass man. I’m not convinced he did it from what I heard though. It’s a very weird case. Being aggravated by the prosecutors questions and killing children is a big difference.
Agreed but that’s why lawyers advise you to keep your emotions in check. No matter how ridiculous or angry something said in court may make you, that little outburst was enough to make him look angry. The prosecutor even said afterwards about him showing his temper. The jury has only so much to go on so when a defendant acts out, it makes them look guilty regardless.
This is the comment that I'm looking for! This was a heinous crime, but I'm not completely convinced that he did this. Just because he snapped at the judge don't mean anything. I understand that his secret phone was at the scene of the crime, but I'm still not 100 percent convinced of his guilt.
Every single aspect of this case points towards him. He also has a clear anger problem, as well as a problem with authority and it seems like he doesn't like women talking back to him, either. This one seems pretty clear
I agree. 3 innocent children killed and nobody really knows if Brandi was mean to the guy or not. And if she was, who cares? He deserved it- denying his paternity- then finding out he is def the father (which I'm sure he knew the whole time)- and continuing to NOT pay child support. Men who don't help the mom pay for their child make me sick. He was even having an affair on his wife! He didn't even shed a tear or show ANY emotion when he found out his son was killed in such a horrific circumstance. That poor little boy. And the twins- probably just killed for being present at the house. Lives not yet even lived. So yes, this is one f*cked up case and so sad 😔
Mike you always tell these cases with a form of humour that actually helps the listener hear about the case without the overwhelming of the doom and gloom they entail, but it’s never disrespectful to the victims. Not many people could do that so definitely be proud of the content you put out Mike!
That said it ALL!! Even in court he tried to say he loved the twins & raised them more than his son. So where was the emotion for them during his interviews immediately after the murders???? He didn’t even pretend to act shocked like some of these killers do. He was just blank!! Cold blooded.
I agree. One thing I’ve learned from all these stories Mike brings to us is that A LOT of these stories involve the father not wanting to deal with child support.

I see some comments about him being emotionless when hearing his son is dead and I have two things to point out. Not everyone reacts to trauma emotionally, there are people who are quite stoic even in grief. And at the time he didn't even think the kid was his, so there wasn't a connection there to garner a emotional response.
I'm a behavioral neuroscientist and I believe discussions of how someone reacted to a death should always be ruled unduly prejudicial- whether there's waterfalls of tears or not. There's too much variance between individuals and even within an individual's life to draw any reasonable conclusions.

I could tell it was going to be bad by Mike's discomfort. He gets very uncomfortable about the ones with babies. Understandably. He doesn't even need a disclaimer, just look at his face in the beginning and you'll know.
It's a little interesting that DNA of a drug runner was found in the house, along with multiple foot prints. Henry does seem guilty af, has motive and was caught in lies to police while hiding a second phone... but there's a little too much that could suggest some skulduggery. Kaylee Conrad, Hi! You are so right! I cannot bear anyone inflicting cruelty on innocents- no matter what gender or age, and those who purposely harm defenseless animals. THAT already requires keeping an eye on what the child/person does. It usually ends very badly, as they remorselessly go on to greater and greater crimes. They deserve a taste of their own "medicine".
This was a difficult one to watch. Those beautiful, innocent, little children. Died such a horrible death and most likely after watching their mother being brutally beaten to death. Heartbreaking

This case bothers me greatly. The complete lack of physical evidence is what bothers me. Not saying he is innocent. I'm just perplexed by there being no evidence found of him at the crime scene or them on any of his belongings. On a lighter side, I can't help but notice Mike has been wearing the same 2 or 3 shirts in all of the "That Chapter" episodes and I feel compelled to start a Go Fund Me for Mike's wardrobe.

The weird part for me is that if I were sitting next to him having a conversation on the bus, he would never strike me as someone capable of child murder. Same with Chris Watts.

James was signing letters to Brandi, "your husband", and he couldn't even say what she looked like? Right
This case makes me so mad. He wasn't even a little emotional when talking about his son and the two girls.

There had been a dna test done which showed the lil boy was his.

I couldn’t even finish this after the description of the children and how they were found. Truly heartbreaking.
Your to weak for the world then, couldn’t even finish a heavily edited and censored video….
@@ookalar665 please don’t be unkind. You do not know if this individual has lost a child or what trauma they may be dealing with- there are reasons why people are triggered by certain situations. That doesn’t make them “weak” it means they’re strong enough to know how to regulate their emotions so they don’t lash out at perfect strangers online (like you). For instance when I had lost a loved one I wasn’t able to watch certain videos for a long while as I dealt with the grief.
I won’t assume that you’re a shittty person but this was an unnecessary comment as all it did was be unkind.
And with all due respect- you clearly are not a regular fan of this channel or you would know the unwritten code that this comments section is NOT a place for bullying as it is disrespectful to MIKE.
@@ookalar665 also- it’s “you’re” / “too” NOT “your” /“to” (😉)

Love what you do Mike thanks for bringing us this one.
Although no murder isn't sad, makes it seem that much worse when children are involved. 🤗
This is one of the really rare times I'm not sure what to make of the case. His DNA wasn't found under her fingernails, and his DNA was also absent in the 200 collected samples of crime scene evidence.
Wow that's very telling
Yea I don't know if he is innocent or guilty, but based off what was presented here....there shouldn't have been a conviction
Agree.
Me too
I wouldn't be able to say 100% he done this. The woman seem to keep sketchy company. No evidence to sew up the doubt for me.
Just a few days ago Mike's subscribers went from 1.62 to 1.63. GREAT JOB MY FRIEND!!!
I must say, The pause in the beginning that comes right after you state the name (and death), of the person that each story is about, is always on point and timed perfectly….. I love you Mike!
Thanks Mike for everything you do. We all really appreciate your hardwork!!
Speak for yourself…. Ive come to expect his hard work 😜
@@fernfunk To quote Roy Keane it’s his job, Irish people will get this 🤪
