The case was very messy but he admitted his guilt to his wife and mother 61 times on the phone from jail. Not to the police who were interrogating him. If they were false confessions they would have been made to the interrogators not to his loved ones. He did it and he was confessing to ease his conscience, just my 2c. I truly appreciate you FULLY covering this case! So many others just say he did it, end of. The Odinist theory sounds nuts, but when you dive into it, it really does make sense. There are only 2 things I think are important to mention: 1) Elvis when talked to about the murders asked a police officer "if you find my spit on one of the bodies, but I have a good explanation will I still be in trouble?" 2) Dr. Wala (RAs psychologist in prison) was obsessed with the case. She was in a number of groups dedicated to the murders. Many of which mentioned the possibility of a van! She then would talk to RA about said groups. It was also a unrecorded confession he supposedly told her that mentioned the white van. This is what the prosecution said was the thing only the killer would know!
This case is horribly sad and I truly hope that one day there will be true justice for all involved!

Richard Allen got a fair trial but after such a flawed and overly secretive police investigation, the judge was wrong to ban all journalists' recording equipment from the court. Unfortunately her lousy call allowed all the crazy conspiracy theorists out there to troll their 'Richard Allen is innocent' shyte to the max!
When you look at the established facts and the crime timeline, he is clearly the murderer. Witnesses saw only one man there that day, the man on Libby's video. Richard Allen IS 'Bridge Guy', he confirmed it when he came forward 2 days after the crime and told authorities he was there at the exact time of the murders, wearing the exact same clothes as the suspect on Libby's video. And Bridge Guy is undoubtedly the killer!
Police released a still image from Libby's video to all TV news stations right after, appealing to him to come forward - Allen saw himself, freaked out, and decided he'd better get ahead of it and pretend he was just a witness, not the killer, before he got the police knock on the door. He knew several women saw him there that day, plus he had a public job serving at a Delphi pharmacy.
But he needn't have worried - despite his early confession, the Keystone Cops wouldn't catch up with him for a staggering FIVE YEARS! The incompetence of Indiana Police under buffoon Supt Doug Carter is incredible. They should be held fully accountable for their multiple, serious mistakes which let Allen the double child killer walk the streets for all that time.
Libby ultimately solved the murder of herself and her friend Abby - without her video of him, Allen never would have come forward, and he would have escaped justice for this horrible, sexually motivated crime.
Who knows how many other females Allen would have killed/sexually assaulted, if he hadn't been identified as Bridge Guy/the murderer? Libby wanted to work in law enforcement when she grew up. She will never grow up, but her incredibly courageous video put her and Abby's killer behind bars, and undoubtedly saved other lives. She was a hero that day, and so was Abby as she almost certainly helped her hide the phone from Allen. God bless those beloved girls, now justice is finally served, may they rest peacefully, held safe in the hearts of all who love them.

After not matching, she had to fire the gun 5-6 times to get a fired round that had 'some agreement' to the unspent round found at the scene as per her notes. This whole "science" is on shakey ground and some US states have completely disallowed it as 'evidence'. There is actually no science behind matching an unspent round to a spent round, none.
He was very unwell when he 'confessed'. Both defence and state witnesses testified about his months of severe psychosis and involuntary haldol injections. If he truly confessed, where is the signed statement? How come we still don't know what happened to those girls?

    • @glamdolly30
      @glamdolly30 14 ชั่วโมงที่ผ่านมา +14

Nope, not an atom of reasonable doubt. Richard Allen came forward to authorities on 15th February 2017, 2 days after the killings, and said he was there at the Delphi trails on the date and time of the crime, wearing the exact same clothes as Bridge Guy - ie the killer Libby filmed.
He effectively identified himself as Bridge Guy because a still image of him from that video was splashed across every TV news station, and he was scared he would be identified by someone else. Not only did he know several witnesses saw him there that day, he had a job working with the public at a local Delphi pharmacy. Only one man was seen there that day - Bridge Guy, Richard Allen.
Allen was freaked out, and decided he'd better get ahead of the police by claiming he was there as an innocent witness, not the killer. But he needn't have worried - the Keystone Cops wouldn't call him in for interview for another FIVE YEARS! Their mistakes in the case were huge and frequent.
In custody, Allen confessed to murdering Libby and Abby 61 times. These were not confessions made under pressure during police interrogations, or given under any kind of duress/police intimidation. He freely confessed, including to his wife and mother on prison phone calls and face to face. He wanted to unburden himself of his guilt, and hoped his family would accept what he was telling them, and show him unconditional love and support.
Instead his wife and mom clamped their hands over their ears, shut him down and refused to believe him. How many times does someone have to confess to you, before you believe them?! He even shared details only the killer knew, like the box cutter tool he used to slash the girls' throats, and the white van that drove past as he was abducting them (police tracked down that van driver - he made that exact same journey, on that road, at that time, every weekday, as a delivery man).
There's a ton more evidence including the bullet found between the girls' bodies that came from Allen's gun. The jury got it right, and a dangerous child killer and sex predator is thankfully where he belongs, and will die. But he should have been identified and charged within 1 week of the crime, when he walked into that 'tip line' office and reported he was there that day. It's insane police failed to follow up - as I say, there was only one man seen there that day, it was Bridge Guy/Richard Allen. Thanks to police mistakes, the conspiracy theorists will continue to have fun and hysterically claim he's an innocent man. He isn't - he did it. And it was Libby's courageous video that flushed him out - without that image of him plastered across TV screens, Allen never would have come forward, and would be a free man to this day. Libby wanted to work in law enforcement one day. What an asset she would have been - at just 14 years old, her video solved her and Abby's murders. She was a hero that day, as was Abby who helped hide the phone from Allen.

I don’t typically believe every “confession,” there are so many litigating circumstances in interrogation rooms. The jury saw more than we did, but it doesn’t seem like he got a fair trial. It seemed all very biased and one sided. It’s happened before where they just “need” a conviction. This still feels unresolved to me, I’m on the fence. To me, this seems more ritualistic and that it wasn’t his first time if it was him. I’ve always just wanted Libby and Abby deserve true justice. 💜

There was plenty reasonable Doubt after the state rested. LITERALLY they couldn't prove nothing with there lack of evidence that they showed . Didn't prove who BG was. DIDNT Prove BG even committed the murders, if RA was BG then how did he stay working at CVS and none of the witness who seen BG never seen BG working at CVS . I dont think they even found a bullet becuase it was mentioned in. RON LOGANS affidavit when they did search of his property...

This case baffles me. I watched Hidden True Crimes daily coverage of the trial (Lauren was in the courtroom). I’m still not 100% convinced and think there are good points on both sides. I was surprised the jury was able to agree on a verdict. RIP Libby and Abby ❤.

Lauren is great, but she AND John got a bunch of details wrong on this one and missed a lot of what others in the courtroom caught. I actually lost a lot of respect for Dr. John over his coverage of this case because he leapt to conclusions based on bad facts and at one point entirely made up a story about RA having a domestic abuse past when in reality, his wife called the police not because of DV but because he was suicidal and needed to go to the hospital. At another point Dr. John stated that the same thing that caused him to park his care suspiciously by the CPS building is what led him to kill the girls…um… it is well established that the “suspiciously parked car” (what the hell does that even mean?!?) could NOT have been RA’s car because it was parked there the whole day and they have his car arriving or leaving at 1:30pm. It was there before and after that time.

    • @samanthaquant7411

Great job Mike. SO many people have gotten so many facts wrong about this case. The rumor and gossip mill has been in overdrive on this one. This video should be required viewing for those wanting to know the true facts in this case. I do think you maybe slightly over-emphasized some of the theories that the kooks out there have spread around, but it's still factual. good video!

If I was a juror, (and I have been on jury duty from time to time) I would not have enough evidence (since there doesn't seem to be any) to convict this guy. The judge alone would have pissed me off so bad that I would not have been able to listen to anything prudent about the prosecution's case. Horrible story on both sides.

I grew up out in the middle of nowhere similar to this, and me and a friend would spend all day just walking around forests and back roads just like this. Had a few close calls with creeps, usually lone men either following us in their trucks or trying to call out to us to come over. Thankfully me and my friend were both flighty and would just book it away immediately together. These poor girls were not so lucky, and I seriously hope that their killer hasn't slept a wink since.

Massive reasonable doubt with this case imo 🤷🏼‍♀️
    The case was screwed!
He was coerced into confessing by making him crazy and giving him all the case notes!
The police was narrow minded and the judge was even worse!
If he doesn’t get his conviction overturned because of her I’ll be surprised.
He could well be guilty but there’s doubt for me..
I hope this taught more parents to not let there children go/play in woods/trails like this… it’s not safe!
I hope Abby and Libby get justice
