Very informative and useful video. Thank you for crawling down that rabbit hole!

The Resepi with the Hensai X32 is only around $30K and definitely not 50K for the sensor. Most lidar especially the Resepi line have GPS that you attach to the drone via a gopro mount, you have to use a base but they can get corrections for RTK or do PPK. Also drones with a 10KG weight limit like the Carlson CRD1 do have RTK.

I use a combination Total Station and GPS to check shots when possible. The problem with using a GNSS receiver, every shot has a plus and minus tolerance. So say you have elevation thats 50' on the dot. The GPS might measure 50.15' or 49.85' giving you a possible gap of 0.3 in your vertical measurements. So i'll average one GPS shot and shoot as many check shots with the TS I can in order to maintain good horizonal and vertical throughout the site

I like your video providing precise data. BTW, I have emailed you to receive information and learn whether we may have a video conference. Thanks and keep going like this :)

    Hi
Is the Phantom Rtk camera good for mapping?
Do I need to plan a double task to get a clean ortho mosaic without shadows?
What should the camera angle be

Yes the P4RTK is a good mapping drone.

Soooo how do you get survey accurate ??
350 RTK - L2 and Control points ?? Do i need NTRIP ? How many control points does it take per acre to verify ??

Equipment wise you can use the Mavic 3 Enterprise E version with RTK (DRTK2 or NTRIP) or the M350 with P1 camera. Number of control points varies a lot, many factors to consider.

Lidar would be helpful for night time environment

Why do we say accuracy within 1/10th of a foot instead of 1.2”? Sounds like a George Carlin routine 😂

You will never hear a professional say 1.2 inches.

I realize that as you are not the first I’ve heard say this phrase. A mathematician, data analyst, etc will ask a similar question as it makes little sense to be so verbose to come to this conclusion - thus my George Carlin comment. The good thing is it’s all the same in the end (unless you want 3cm, then it’s 1.18” :))
Great channel and thanks for the quick reply to a nonsensical comment to begin with!
