I started trying to focus more on damage as Ana and support in general and have been slowly climbing my way up.

Started taking your advice on prioritising damage on support and I've started winning a lot more games. Now whenever I switch back to healbotting to compare, our team immediately starts getting trounced and we get pushed back further and further from objective. People just don't realise how important damage is in deterring pushes. If your healthbar is getting lasered, no healer is going to heal you for enough to let you retake that position. You need to reposition and start doing damage when they occupy the space you gave up to them. People just don't understand that there are two currencies in this game. Damage, and positions. Those are the only two factors that affect how the game will end. When people throw positioning to the sharks and think they can just face tank everything and blame healers when the enemy team all get a free go on their fat head, games are lost.

AS long as you were keeping heal orb at least out and moving it as needed they can't ask for more healing out of a Zen. Big chunk of his healing is his ult if used when alot of dmg is coming in.
The main reason for which I decided to play a little more in your style (because let's face it I'm not on your level.. yet) Is because I feel that whenever I healbot, y can't heal my buddies enough to where they live. They usually take more damage than I can heal so taking the pressure from them by shooting my opponents is better.

Very educational. It made me chuckle how hard it is for you to NOT do damage " pleeeease just let me do damage!" hahaha. I appreciate you highlighting really key important moments when you could do damage such as zooming in on life weaver in the game on shambali monastery and going "see shot shot, pause bubble shot". You could even challenge your viewers to highlight timestamps of obvious times where you could have done damage and didn't and make that into homework! (Gotta make sure you don't make it too obvious for us though!)
Well...to play devils advocate. Of the games I watched, you were mostly looking at the targets you COULD be damaging instead of actually healing. Lol. You still are proving a point but you made it so much harder than it actually is. I also don't think any ana would land a sleep or a anti without following up with at least one shot. Just starting at the enemy and doing nothing is worse than bronze players.
This man always reminds me of a quote from Cercei Lannister: "You might be the most arrogant man I've ever met. I like that." It's great 👍 TY for your good content.
Hey Awkward, I recently hit GM thanks to all your videos on how to not suck at the videogame. You've been a great help and I'm glad I stumbled upon your videos to help me become a better overwatch player.
Lucio unranked to gm? So far not a lot of people did that and I for example would be very interested in your approach to the character (I know damage, damage, damage but still).
I think its a balance. Usually my ratio is 30-50% damage and 50-70% heals. My aim isn't as good as yours to be killing as much, but offensive nades is where it is at.
Stay on the highground the whole game and make sure to spam the group up and fall back voicelines when anyone tries to move forward when the enemies go back
I gotta save this video for the next time someone blames me not healing enough even tho i carry them by doing more dmg and kills then they are. As an veteran ana main who got into more dpsing through u this was really hard to watch i can feel the pain not shooting the enemies. Big thank you akward for showing those wanna be pros that high heels doesnt mens ur doing ur job
People who heal bot, don't have a rule that they can't do damage ever, its not a thing. This is not demonstrating anything As a heal bot in gold, you need to be up ur tanks butt and healing 1000k per 10 sec
Yesterday Awkward I was playing some Kiri and got into a game with this Bap player. I noticed after a few fights he had 0 damage, and at the end of the game he racked up a total of 275 damage ALL GAME. I let him know he had a gun and he said "if you wanna play dps then queue dps" lmfao. In his profile, he had a TEN TO ONE healing to damage ratio, he's been stuck in low diamond for five seasons, and these are the players that make me so mad... I watched the replay and he spent the entire game healing his full hp teammates. He did not click left click for five minutes and twenty seven seconds. He windowed... to HEAL THE TANK... telling me to play dps when I just watched the most boring gameplay of my life lmfao
Hey awkward. When i started the games some years ago, my teammates shouted at me everytime I wanted to do damage. I had really no one else to ask or teach me better. So I became one of those heal bots, but was always blamed whenwever I did do damage and kept the pressure up instead of healing. I reached Masters on Zen. (I enjoy Zen the most), but kept being harassed and blamed for not healing enough and eventually I quiet because this was getting just too much. Watching your videos however made me miss playing Overwatch. I think I'll go back to it and just drown the others out completely. thanks for making this content. If I could pay you I'd buy you coaching me :D
Can I just say: the game that starts at 45:30 is just a perfect example of why Mauga is a shit hero in OW. I just teaches very bad fundamental skills and teaches the one that plays him to don't use cover and pump your damage into the enemy tank. The times Awkward isn't able to keep him alive is when he is interlocking into a pissing contest with the entire enemy team while LoS-ing his healers.
Thats why lifeweaver mercy is a pain to play with , yes u sustain for a while but ultimatly u crumble because theres not enough pressure on they enemy team plus your damage isn’t as effective cause u only run with 3 potentionally people that do damage so if you don’t focus all on the same person u can’t get that kill of in time and they enemy team has easier job keeping everything a life
I hated playing healer because of the lack of control just like you said. After watching your videos I'm enjoying it more. I'm still bad, as it's hard to keep track of everything, but much more fun. My team flames hard every second game but I don't mind. I grew up with a different gaming culture where trash talk was part of the experience.
The reason why you see healbots running for their lives instead of 1v1ing is because most of them cant aim so the dps will usually kill them if they try to fight. Running usually buys some time to get help.
Sometimes I try to relax by just healbotting my QP games but instantly forget because people make themselves such easy targets that it's hard to not kill them, heck even on Mercy I go for damage because why not, faster ult and some people just can't land their shots when damage boosted
Nobody plays like that tho. Who doesn't ever shoot an enemy and doesn't nade enemies. I've never been NOT shot at by an enemy ana. This is more of a challenge than making a point. Nobody plays this game way. Even a bronze ana will shoot at you
the fact that everyone is detesting healbotting here proves that my region has a bunch of dumbasses I've seen shxxs like 0 damage kiriko and bap and 2 days ago I just had this ana blaming me for not being to kill pharah, after she says she will heal after I killed pharah (ofc I lost, they had barriers and heals to help the pharah, and I never got healed) and the tank won't ever push highground dear god dps isn't supposed to 2v5 to win a fight
i noticed the times i had to heal the most as is when my team is taking damage for being in bad positions. In better games when the team dominates, my healing, and damage are about equal and my eliminations are roughly in the same range as the whole team.
What this says to me is that positioning and aim accuracy is more important than damage and healing as long as you’re doing one or the other with very good positioning and aim accuracy.
Exactly how people who have been stuck in gold for 8 years think that you're supposed to play Ana. Never do anything but pump them full of heals.. while they die horribly even with two supports doing everything they can to keep them alive.
Played as Moira yesterday and the other support was mad at me for not healing more. She only had 1k more heal than me. I had 27 kills (team high) and we won the game 🤷♂️
This thread is full of menace and I like it 😂 I can't tell you how HILARIOUS it is to watch a Mercy mains brain melt over doing anything other than yellow beam full health players and sit on point all game. I had someone complain EVERYTIME about having to pull out her pistol to finish off a rein and then act like she was 1v1ing the tank. Like no, you don't wanna blue beam and just expect the enemy team to fall over while you stand there, and I got sick of having to turn around to protect her lazy ass so she had to start using her Barbie blaster AND beam juggle me whenever we would start losing team fights. like the fucked part is that this person embodies the delusional support player mentality and others just enable it cause they're just thirsty for a healslut😂😂

I also don't think any ana would land a sleep or a anti without following up with at least one shot. Just starting at the enemy and doing nothing is worse than bronze players.
"Maybe...Maybe by magic. " This dude cracks me up. good content.
This man always reminds me of a quote from Cercei Lannister: "You might be the most arrogant man I've ever met. I like that."
It's great 👍 TY for your good content.
Hey Awkward, I recently hit GM thanks to all your videos on how to not suck at the videogame. You've been a great help and I'm glad I stumbled upon your videos to help me become a better overwatch player.
There is no avoiding the lessons that are needed to learn that was a good quote brother.
I see why awkward does damage, because he can’t heal. He’s not good enough to healbot. What a noob.
Just watching the first minute of the first game hurt my soul. I dont know how awkward managed to do that for as long as he did
This video's tips on positioning got me from silver 5 to gold 3, I truly was holding my team back
Positioning is a huge part of gamesense and the game as a whole.
"Secret underground society of healbots"
My man is savage. Lmao!
Overwatch the only fps where people get mad at you for playing properly
Stay on the highground the whole game and make sure to spam the group up and fall back voicelines when anyone tries to move forward when the enemies go back
We gonna need a masterclass on you positioning for the next video
It's the boring play style.
Would hate overwatch if I had to healbot all the time
Play dps or is dps too hard?
Lol if you only heals in yr games why do you play😊@@rileyp3707
@@rileyp3707 play better or is bronze too hard?
@@rileyp3707 I main DPS... lol
you discovered a new playstyle here: healing from the off angle
You were doing emotional damage with the death glare you gave the pharah
36:24 "I need to stop trolling, let me go heal" XD
i got so frustrated watching the heal bot gameplay that i got up and played ana
I gotta save this video for the next time someone blames me not healing enough even tho i carry them by doing more dmg and kills then they are. As an veteran ana main who got into more dpsing through u this was really hard to watch i can feel the pain not shooting the enemies. Big thank you akward for showing those wanna be pros that high heels doesnt mens ur doing ur job
People who heal bot, don't have a rule that they can't do damage ever, its not a thing. This is not demonstrating anything
As a heal bot in gold, you need to be up ur tanks butt and healing 1000k per 10 sec
11:53
5.6k bap?
This is what you should say to the ENEMY not your team. Lmao
I love awkward first minute of this video is him having a stroke cause no damage damage damage
HEAL HEAL HEAL
heal heal heal when they go back i go back
Can I just say: the game that starts at 45:30 is just a perfect example of why Mauga is a shit hero in OW. I just teaches very bad fundamental skills and teaches the one that plays him to don't use cover and pump your damage into the enemy tank. The times Awkward isn't able to keep him alive is when he is interlocking into a pissing contest with the entire enemy team while LoS-ing his healers.
Thats why lifeweaver mercy is a pain to play with , yes u sustain for a while but ultimatly u crumble because theres not enough pressure on they enemy team plus your damage isn’t as effective cause u only run with 3 potentionally people that do damage so if you don’t focus all on the same person u can’t get that kill of in time and they enemy team has easier job keeping everything a life
awkward is a master in this game this is insane
I used to play supports like that before your videos. I was bronze for months , now I am gold 2 and keep improving. Thank you Akward
I hated playing healer because of the lack of control just like you said. After watching your videos I'm enjoying it more. I'm still bad, as it's hard to keep track of everything, but much more fun. My team flames hard every second game but I don't mind. I grew up with a different gaming culture where trash talk was part of the experience.
remember it's called support, not healer
The reason why you see healbots running for their lives instead of 1v1ing is because most of them cant aim so the dps will usually kill them if they try to fight. Running usually buys some time to get help.
Woooow. 26:40 he was juking the hell out of them bullets staying alive. That was amazing.
What’s really sad is you could be having fun killing more people, but people settle for just healing their teammates on support.
Please do an unranked to GM on sigma I’d appreciate it so much ‼️
Sometimes I try to relax by just healbotting my QP games but instantly forget because people make themselves such easy targets that it's hard to not kill them, heck even on Mercy I go for damage because why not, faster ult and some people just can't land their shots when damage boosted
This was Awkward edging himself to not damage and this was funny as hell 😂😂😂
Nobody plays like that tho. Who doesn't ever shoot an enemy and doesn't nade enemies. I've never been NOT shot at by an enemy ana. This is more of a challenge than making a point. Nobody plays this game way. Even a bronze ana will shoot at you
If you've never seen a 0dmg ana, you've not been in bronze
its too painful to watch this 💀
The first few minutes were just an unscripted comedy skit
Cheers from Brazil man, I really like your vids and they actually helping me improving on the game
Just wanted to give an update, i solo queued with Brig. I went from diamond 5 to #456 in a little over a week. Thanks bro 👀
the fact that everyone is detesting healbotting here proves that my region has a bunch of dumbasses
I've seen shxxs like 0 damage kiriko and bap
and 2 days ago I just had this ana blaming me for not being to kill pharah, after she says she will heal after I killed pharah (ofc I lost, they had barriers and heals to help the pharah, and I never got healed) and the tank won't ever push highground
dear god dps isn't supposed to 2v5 to win a fight
i noticed the times i had to heal the most as is when my team is taking damage for being in bad positions. In better games when the team dominates, my healing, and damage are about equal and my eliminations are roughly in the same range as the whole team.
Man I think this is his shortest video where he played Ana he must have got to GM fast looks like it’s the optimal play
I love how you nano the mccree and he uses his ult😂😂 like it isn’t already a 1 shot
I'd love to see Awkward play a different game competitively other than Overwatch. I could see him killing it in some fighting game or something
My inner monologue playing as Ana.
"Damage, Damage Damage"
Healbotters are like the type of people in real life that relies on others instead of taking actions themselves
You just described every mercy player
Literally mercy’s kit and player base described in one sentence lmao.
@@germanluque9756 if that was the case then how would some mercy's be ranked higher than you while others are in bronze? Cope
we usually get "DAMAGE DAMAGE DAMAGE" instead we got "HEAL HEAL HEAL HIDE HIDE HIDE" from him 😂
The first game I was cracking up watching you not do damage 😂
That first match was the worst Reinhardt I’ve ever seen besides myself
