    Straight to the point, no fuss, no drama. A perfect 3 minute tool review! I bought the 7 1/4 Tool Shop saw that I got for $50 at Menards 11 years ago. I have since upgraded to a 10 inch DeWalt but gave the Tool Shop to my dad and it still is working well for his needs. Thanks for the video

      Thanks, Chris! Your first sentence has been my goal for all my videos. I'm in my seventies, still working 6 days a week, and I don't have time for videos in which the guy leaves the camera running for 70 seconds while he runs off to find a tool.

    *Remember that this saw needs to have adjustments made to make 0 or 90 cuts accurately **MyBest.Tools** I had to use a right angle on the deck and blade and then adjust the bolt to get the correct reading. Once this is done, it works great.*

      Correct, Edot! I had to adjust mine, and it went pretty well to the limit of adjustment.

    I have the sliding 10" tool shop miter saw and have had it for 5 years and its been great for me with a Diablo blade. The only issues ive had are with the plastic handles to set your compound angles, the it broke so now i use a pliers to tighten it other then that its been a great saw especially considering i only spent about $100 on it

      Hi, Stacked! About that broken plastic handle, I've never been able to find out how to order replacement parts for Tool Shop products.

      @@MarkBeuligmann yeah I fixed one by putting a little set screw through it and it works fine now, the other one I rarely use so it's not too bad, I'm sure if I could find a replacement they would just strip out again

    Great video! Looking to buy the 7 1/4 version. Looks like they come with a laser now.

      Thanks, Casey! I thought I would upgrade from this very basic saw at some point, but it has done everything I need a miter saw to do, so I've stuck with it. I did add some measurement markers to the right side of the fence - with a ball point pen. That has worked out great.

      Thanks, Andrew! Not that it matters now, since this model has been replaced by a newer one, but I was mistaken about the blade being a 40-tooth. It was actually an 80-tooth, making for very smooth cuts.

    I have the Tool Shop 10” sliding single bevel saw. Bought it in 2014. The saw worked great for 7 years for my needs. I was not doing precise cabinetry, but basic stuff like flooring and outdoor needs. But in 2021, the blade guard broke when a piece of wood kicked back during a cut and hit it. Trying to find a replacement guard is not going well. Menard’s was absolutely useless and recommended I buy a new one. Online searches lead me to similar complaints about Menard’s or lead me to a Ryobi saw blade guard. Don’t know if that will work or not. Any leads about replacement parts or contacts will be appreciated.

      Old Guys, Menards is no help when you're looking for replacement parts for Tool Shop products. Tool Shop does not have a web site, but there is a phone number in my owner's manual. 866 915-8626 I have no idea if you will get anyone. I've never tried it. Good luck!

    Where can I get parts? Do I need to go through Menards?

    • @markbeuligmann7363
      @markbeuligmann7363  4 ปีที่แล้ว

      Bruno, that's what I would do. Tool Shop is an exclusive Menards brand. Somewhere during a move, I lost the holddown clamp to my miter saw. I've looked in Menards stores and online, and I haven't been able to find one. It doesn't even show up in the parts list of the owner's manual. Perhaps if you talk to a Menards employee, he might be able to get one for you. I haven't tried that yet, but I plan to do it soon. Good luck!

      Eric, the manual only gives a phone number, which is 866 915-8826. Perhaps local Menards personnel could help as well. I regret not having more information than that.

      @markbeuligmann7363  3 ปีที่แล้ว

      Jenden, the model number of my saw is J1X-JF1-255. Good luck finding the part! If you find out how to get replacement parts from Tool Shop (a Menards exclusive brand) let me know! I need to get a hold-down for my saw that I lost during a move.

      MTheory,
      I just threw a short, quick & dirty video out on this channel showing you how the spring is mounted in the blade guard. It's called "Miter saw guard spring." I hope it helps you reassemble your unit.

    • @HyeBrownIz
      @HyeBrownIz 8 ปีที่แล้ว

      Mark, can you paste the link to this short video on replacing the spring? I can't find it and I'm having the same problem. I got it back in, but I don't think it's correct. I'm having a heck of a time taking it apart to replace the blade! It's an older model and the manual has NO photos:(

    • @markbeuligmann7363
      @markbeuligmann7363  8 ปีที่แล้ว

      Sue B, The video was intended only to respond to the original requester, so I only left it on my channel for a few days. I'll publish it again for you.

    • @HyeBrownIz
      @HyeBrownIz 8 ปีที่แล้ว

      Thank you! We did figure it out though. It took 3.5 hours to change the blade! The bolt would not come undone, then when it finally did, it was almost impossible to get the spring back in, stay put while putting it back on. I had to snag a neighbor to help me and he and I spent an hour on it. Yours is a newer model and obviously made better!

    • @markbeuligmann7363
      @markbeuligmann7363  5 ปีที่แล้ว

      Jay, thanks for bringing my attention to that oversight. You're the first to notice, and the video has been out there for 2 1/2 years with over 17,000 views. I can tell you that the saw cuts very well, but I take it slow with my 80-tooth blade. It leaves a very smooth cut that doesn't require much sanding.
