Easily the best and most comprehensive tutorial available. Highly recommended if you are new to using mitre saws or just need to have a refresher. Thank you for helping me achieve better results mate.
This was the best tutorial I’ve watched!! Just saved me from throwing away a newish saw! I’ve had it for a year and I thought it came out of the box cutting bad but figured there was nothing I could do.
Best , most thorough and easiest to understand tutorial on all of you tube for mitre saw calibration ....in my opinion. Well spoken and interesting....thumbs up 👍👍👍
I really enjoyed this video. I now know how to calibrate my 1-fence miter saw. Btw- I never would have guessed you were British, I understood you 100% of the time! I can't stand to listen to instructional videos by foreigners because I often get lost on their pronounciation of words but NOT you! Thank You So much from an American, for this video and your clear speech!
I have watched your video several times now and it’s been very helpful in letting me know how to tune a DeWalt sliding Mitre saw my nephew has. It just goes to show that while you expect the new saw you bought to be accurate it’s always a good idea to check and make sure it is. When I get my new garage built I’ll be buying a new 12” Mitre saw and I’ve saved your instructional video to refer to in the future. You explained what to do step by step slowly and simply and it was easy to follow. Well done and as I did in a reply to a comment on thumbs I give you only thumbs up👍👍👍👍👍
Hi my name is Kevin from Aus as I am a mechanical engineer for over 50 years I enjoyed watching you aline your saws you gave a good discretion of wat you were doing in detail , in my case I use a dial gauge to line up my saws blades congratulations to you well done Kevin
Awesome! I recently built a coffee table with my Dewalt saw. While making it I noticed some of the cuts didn't look square and it really showed up on the final assembly of the table. I used this video to fix the saws alignment and now we're cooking with gas.
Thank you, I was doing my head in working out what was wrong with my mitres on an old cheap drop saw, so I went ahead and purchased a 600 usd metabo 305 and it was out of square straight out of the box, brought a magnetic level box and will be calibrating the saw soon, no more strange skirting and trim cuts, no more wasted timber.
Newbie woodworker, no experience with tools and learning as I go. Please can I take you home for a week?! I’m so impressed, you explained so clearly and didn’t talk too fast. I didn’t have to keep stopping so that my tiny brain could absorb what you said and you used words I understood. Thank you so so much. Subbed.
Hands down the finest lesson on the topic on the Tube to date. Thank you so much and excellen job! No fluff, everything you need to know and nothing you don't. Earned a new sub from me
Thank you so much for this video, very educational. As a new woodworker I didn't realize how many different adjustments a miter saw had to get it dialed in.
I’ve tried a lot of sliding miter saws. No matter how well calibrated, they are flimsy aluminum and plastic things that can easily be pulled or pushed off the line by your own arm pulling on the saw handle. So I just bought myself a 500 pound DeWalt radial arm saw made in 1953, and calibrated that massive and well built iron monster. It never strays off the line.
NOO DOUBT : BEST EXPLANATION STRAIGHT TO THE POINT SMOOTH AND EASY UNDERSTANDABLE QUICK FIX QUICK ADJUSTING THANK YOU VERY MUCH JUST SUBSCRIBED 👍💯🙏🤜💥🤛🙂☕️🌮🍻CHEERS!!
It is really one of the best videos related to the subject which is really easy to understand and enjoy lessoning and watching it. thank you and God bless you.
Thank you so much for this information. I thought I'd lost my touch for cutting trim when I got my new Ryobi miter saw, but turns out the fence or locks may need adjustment. Have to check everything out and adjust as needed.
That's the perfect video, no waffle, no unecessary chat, just straight facts & the various ways to adjust the saw. Thanks very much. I can now see where my mitre saw has been giving me problems & how I can sort it out. Brilliant.
Appreciate the video, helped me sort out a long standing problem in a few minutes. Sometimes you just need to take a step back and let someone show you what to do.
Purchased a Dewalt Miter-saw and noticed the cuts were not square. I knew it needed adjusted but really didn’t know how. Now I do. Great Video!! I’m a a fan and subscriber.. Thank You!!!
Wow!!!!! A very informative video. I need to calibrate my mitre saw. Will have a go at it. I saved the video to watch it again. I'll be needing to. Thank you.
Thank you so much for this video. I have the 12" Metabo, and it has non-adjustable detents. Every other video I found uses a saw with adjustable detents, and I was nervous to just start loosening bolts without truly understanding what I was getting into.
Outstanding instructional video demonstrating clarity and specificity (not an easy combination). Just calibrated my new DWS779, something I hadn't done on my previous saws but now realize the importance, especially when working with molding.
Thank you so much for this video. I have a 10” sliding Ridgid and when I was making some picture frames I noticed it was off by just a little. Now I know to adjust it and im not afraid to touch it. Thank you again!
@@TrainingHandsAcademy I watched many videos on how to properly setup a miter saw and i have to say i learned the most from you. you explain very clearly how and what to look for which is 100% Perfect thank you. Today i ordered the digital angle tool and i seen my fence was a bit out as you should slide the saw out with the square along side and near the end the blade was going over the square. My saw is a brand new Stanley SM18 slider, and I cut a bunch of moldings to go around the doors and they all have a taper on them, or a bevel. I never had a Miter saw before LOL so just started cutting happy days and then OOPPS!!! I only cut the sides and never paid attention and they are all glued now on each side of the doors plastic moldings so now learned a lot have to order the small planer to cut them down so the top now cut level will fit on . If that makes any sense HAHAHA Thanks again for writing back and finding someone for advice in Thailand there is n one so your video is #1 100 % TEACHER :):)
Helpful video thanks, I spent yesterday afternoon trying to calibrate mine… those digital tools look the way to go so I will give them a shot for precision!
@@TrainingHandsAcademy Hi Josh, just want to tell you after following this instruction video, my mitre saw cut perfectly square. Man, I'm so happy. All of your videos are very useful for newbie woodworker like me, keep it coming!! Thank you thank you and thank you :)
Thanks for this video, I have a Kobalt 7.5 inch sliding miter saw , unfortunately it fell off my tailgate, nothing broke , but hugely out of adjustment. now l know how to hopefully readjust it.Gord
Awesome instructions. Many thanks. Nothing so annoying as buying a pretty expensive miter saw and still not having accurate cuts. No problem anymore thanks to these instructions.
Love this video. So much detail on how to adjust everything. All the information is useful without being patronising. That's my afternoon sorted out. Off to the garage for me. Thank you.
I got a new miter saw about 6 months ago. I have built a couple of projects always with everything being a little bit out of square. I checked my table saw, which was as close to perfect as I could ever hope. I never thought to check my new miter saw. Guess what I’m doing in the next 5 minutes. Thanks for the clear instructions on making all the needed adjustments.
Great video. Clear and concise. You cover everything about adjusting your miter saw except what I find wrong with mine. When I first bought the new saw I had to make a slight adjustment to cut square. 45 degree miters and 45 bevel cut are fine by themselves. However when I cut a compound angle with the bevel at 45 and miter at 45 the miter is way off. Am I using it wrong or is there something inherently wrong with the saw?
That's a tough one... normally if the 45's and 90's are good, everything in between is good too. Not sure what that would be? You can send me a video on IG if you want of your problem.
Quite a useful video.I am NOT a woodworker but sell recycled wood and make trellises etc. My cuts are beginning to look like I'm making the side of a bird box. Hope this informative video helps me.,
