Well, it is faster especially with AC wifi support, but unfortunately it can occasionally still stutter the playback and run into audio jittering issues. Also, interestingly the quality of desktop casting seems to have reduced compared to the original... Welcome to the future everyone.

Hey mate, you're too xool. The Ultra looks good but it's just a little annoying because it came out back in 2016, so I keep feeling that they'll release an update for it anytime soon. It does however, do 4k and has a better processor than the latest 2018 Chromecast so it'd be interesting to see how well it runs. Let me know if you get one.
Yes only Chromecast ultra all another Chromecast is only for old TV without 4K

Hey mate, yeah I agree, if I can livestream a 60fps video game using Steam Link then AC Wifi should be more than good enough to share a desktop screen. They just spend too much development on bloatware/spyware rather than performance.
I'm powering my chromecast 3rd gen using a ps3 slim front usb port with the ps3 switched on. Apparently the Ps3 usb ports output 5v at 900mA. The official chromecast wall plug is 1A, but the ps3 usb port works fine, so it appears the chromecast 3rdG doesn't require 1Amp.

my sony tv turned off when you said hay google lol I have just bought this one for £30 and also the firestick 4k which will work bettter on the LG CX I have as its apps are crap.
Chromecast Ultra is for 4K. not Chromecast's third generation
