I just completed every mission on solo LASO, and I can't thank you enough for making these videos, as they helped me immensely! Since Halo 4 is a cake walk compared to other Halos, having a challenge with the LASO difficulty was a welcome change. WOOT ALL FINISHED!!! tyty! ^^
appreciate your tricks RC Master, been very helpful, i havent finished it on laso but it worked for me on the infinity and beyond challenge for my first time! i have never tried to do it on laso, its really difficult for me to target without the hud, you do it with a lot of ease, ill keep practicing and using your videos as guides! thank you for your videos, youre awesome!
New LASO Speed Run for you. This one is in Infinity, in just over 32 minutes - yeah, that might not sound fast, but watch it, and you'll see I make pretty good progress for the whole run. Especially from the start to the holdout. At about half the time of others I've seen, it's by far the fastest so far. There are a lot of ways to get past enemies, or avoid their spawns altogether, but there are still several big fights that you need to get through, and lots of Knights that need their spines breaking. Speaking of which... much resist describing the encounters as 'Knightmares.'
I really enjoyed your commentary on this one. You sounded like you were going through absolute hell! :-P Makes me glad I came into Mythic later than usual. lol. Excellent run, brother.
Doing this one on LASO with a friend took us forever, back when we did it a couple months ago! Had to learn all the Promethean Knight spawns like you did at the holdout...
RC, seriously man, amazing job! I can't believe you got this done in half an hour. I tried doing it with half the skulls on (Mythic, thunderstorm, tilt, minus the no checkpoint) and that alone was such a pain.
RC after playing Midnight over and over (lots of concentrated Knights) I found your trick of assassinating the way you did against Sword Elites (running to the sword side) and doing it against Knights worked the same way, although you need to be faster as they don't face the other way for long, but it worked a treat!
I started the LASO campaign before this video was posted and I will admit that the point where u defended the hill was the hardest, even by knowing where the knights spawned I often found myself pinned around the top tree trunk and constantly bombarded with grenades and crawlers
12:00 useful trick I've been using is to pop the autosentry behind the log so it can get a few shots at the watcher when it spawns. Also helps alert me to the watcher in case I mess up counting crawlers.
Might also be handy to note that if you DO fall behind on the enemy spawns in the holdout section, it can be handy to hang out in that fallen log area and use those cracks to pick off the Crawlers and Watchers, and then try to lure the Knights around the edges one-by-one. Nothing ever follows your into that area, and enemies struggle to hit you through those cracks. This is absolute worst case scenario, of course. But it definitely helped me.
I already did this mission before this video and it took me ages because at one point at the turrets part after you insert Cortana in and defend yourself, I ended up having 4 Knights to kill in the one place. Pretty damn difficult since that part is very open and hardly any cover available. But I managed. After the prometheans it was smooth sailing for me in the Scorpion and Mantis.
As best you can. They sometimes don't cooperate. But if you peak your head out, they'll usually notice you. You don't have to stay exposed for long, and they'll come to investigate. They'll get pretty close and all you have to do is run around the corner for that assassination, provided only one came. Like I said, last ditch effort.
Nicely done! Quick quistion: would be nice if you made a video of the best way to assassinate both elites and knights just like you did in Reach op rcvgs.
Yeah, I tried the mission last night on Mythic, didn't get the watcher luckily. But when I did get the watcher the last time i did the mission, the revived scattershot knight was feverishly shooting at the auto turret that i kept setting up to distract it. It is kind of a coin toss but setting up an auto turret on one entrance of the cave was able to distract the knight enough so that I was able to run back into the cave, out the other cave exit, and assassinate the knight.
Played through this mission first for LASO, made it all the way to the end when you push the button to activate the MAC guns. As I got out of my Mantis, one of the turrets destroyed a wandering banshee overhead and a piece of it fell down and killed me. I don't have the skill, patience, or desire to try again after something like that. I didn't even know that could happen.
"And also thanks to AuraSoldier for sort of general awesome anti-Knight strategies" Aww, shucks. Nice, solid run I might add. I'm still looking at that Scorpion section and weighing up running past everything then getting the Wraith vs taking the Scorpion instead. It looks like it'd be very close; might test it this weekend, and see if I can put out a run of my own. I'm aiming for sub 25 personally.
Get in close (but not too close) and wait for them to throw a grenade. Run around the back and hit their spine. This only works on Legendary with the Catch skull - lower difficulties they don't use grenades as much.
But did it, found it easier than Midnight cause in that level when you have to plant the grenade in to the Didact in which I cinda failed... Ty man, best Halo video maker ever xD!!
RC if you go through the full assination animation on the first knight that you spawn kill in the holdout section (after you insert Cortana) the second spawn kill knight doesn't spawn as quickly so you have more time to get over to his spawn. Not really that important, but I know when I beat this level I occasionally had a problem getting over to that second knight and had to chase him while he spawn jumped.
No, because Watchers have shields. You have to strip away the shields first, then they are susceptible to headshots. That's why I use the LR on them, and only occasionally the DMR at the end - after their shields are down.
Might be handy to note that those 2 Knights that spawn in around 10:15 or so don't react to you with their initial spawn, so you've got a little bit of a window of time to get to them, but at the same time you don't have to be SO swift. They stand there and take it, and then are scripted to teleport a little further into the battlefield, and THEN they'll start to attack. At least, this has been my experience.
No, I mean when they're aggressively searching for you, but you hide in that log overhanging the battlefield. If you go to the end of that and expose yourself, they'll migrate over to that side. Then you can go to the other side and they'll follow you. They'll never actually push past a certain point. But if you can get one close enough so that you can run out and backtap him without taking too much damage and then run back to cover, then you're somewhat better for it.
Knights spawn Watchers, and although I haven't seen it happen, I believe one of the LR Knights at the LZ spawns the Watcher. I was just lucky it didn't happen - I was expecting it to. If a Knight gets revived by a Watcher though - you're screwed unless you can get a classic stealth backsmack.
The indication is barely there at all. When they have shields, a very faint blue-ish trail comes off each impact point - as with Knights. Generally, once they start flying away, their shields are down then.
Just so you guys know, IF YOU DIE, THEN JUST PAUSE THE MOMENT YOU DIE AND SAVE AND QUIT THEN GO TO THE MENU, THEN START THE GAME BACK UP AND YOU WILL GO BACK TO THE LAST CHECKPOINT. THIS IS SO YOU DON'T HAVE TO RESTART THE WHOLE MISSION!!!
You say you're worried about dying because of Iron skull, but you can just save and quit as you die before you respawn then resume campaign from last checkpoint
Well I am currently doing this SLASO, and following all of your videos for the achievements in Master Chief Collection. This one is broken for me. Everytime I resume my playlist after the Save & quit method iron skull work around. The game freezes mid loading screen the backs me out to the dashboard. Its always in the cave section is where I die, I can get past it but the game doesn't work right....
Last one left to do is Midnight. I had a go with 11 skulls the other day - only a couple of chokepoints. Easier and shorter than Infinity it seems. I'll aim to have it done by next Friday - how does that sound?
This is probably a stupid question, but grabbing the PV from the first Marine-Knight, do you have to button press to grab it, or is it automatic. I am going to try this tonight, just wanted to be prepared for the "easy" parts...
Ugh..one time while fighting the enemies at the LZ, there was a watcher and it didn't go away like the one in your vid. Taking it out is a pain with all the cover so I ignored it....and it revives a scattershot knight....Have u ever had to kill that watcher, or was I just unlucky???
how the hell do u assassinate the 2 scatter shot dudes because me and my friend are trying kill them and we all ways get a scatter shot or a sword to the face????? and is there a special way of assassinating Knights ???

Great run. Have to say I'm in two minds with the knights - Love the tactics they use, but in some instances they're a bit of a huge grind
Your videos are awesome! Liked, subbed.
Don't think he posts anymore mate
@@topgus07 shame
Nice one RC, did it just like ya vid & i finally got my emblem. Thanks for all the help along the way & keep up the good work dude!
I really enjoyed your commentary on this one. You sounded like you were going through absolute hell! :-P Makes me glad I came into Mythic later than usual. lol. Excellent run, brother.
I spent 2 raging hours when clearing the landing zone
Doing this one on LASO with a friend took us forever, back when we did it a couple months ago! Had to learn all the Promethean Knight spawns like you did at the holdout...

:D Yay! Thankyou RC! Your videos are a great help to me and my friend. You've earned another subscriber!

first part until RP bravo is interesting to watch seeing as this apparently was before treeskip was found

Masterful map knowledge and skills.

5 shots to kill a sentry? I've got to shoot 14 shots. yes, I counted them.
Yep. I've done that a few times myself. Not as reliable as when they're stuck in the grenade animation as you need to be FAST.
Good job :)
The thing is he doesn't want to die even if you can do that. It's the point to having a no death run.
That is indeed worth a try. Let me know what you find, Ghost.
Catch. It is essential if you want to get them to throw grenades like this.
DUDE!!! WTF how did you pull that... are you a wizard from the moon?
+subject_17 Plot twist: I am the moon. 0.o
I put up a little blu-tak marker on my TV screen. I'd aim at a wall, shoot, and put the marker over the bullet hole (: it works really well for me
It doesn't matter what weapon you have when you backsmack them - just tap the melee button really quickly. Just once, if you're in the right place.
I made a marker on my TV. It's always in the same place.
Or just practice. You develop a 'feel' for where it is.
Great job. this is the new mythic standard.
Omg thank you with 12:00 mark so much easier than silvers method Jesus
As long as your buddy is pretty good, co-op is generally easier. You can set up distractions and put more firepower down the range.
The indication is barely there at all. When they have shields, a very faint blue-ish trail comes off each impact point - as with Knights. Generally, once they start flying away, their shields are down then.
This level looks amazing with the blind skull on...
Yes, they have tiny little faces in their main body. Difficult to see, and even more difficult to hit.
Can you do it for the next thursday? I'd like to read the halo bulletin and watch your video in the same day. It makes me want to play halo.
Like I said in the video - try moving back and forth to break them up. But you've pretty much got yourself in the worst position possible...
You just got lucky. As you saw in my run - they can spawn even after it seems like the Knight is already dead!
You say you're worried about dying because of Iron skull, but you can just save and quit as you die before you respawn then resume campaign from last checkpoint
One reason i'm doing it is because I want to try all these skips that i didn't know about when I went through legendary solo
nice video RC! What sesetivity are you playing on? because for me it seams really fast when you turn around to assassinate these Knights
They should make a skull that makes view in 3rd person i reckon that would be quite cool.
Yes. It's in the dead-centre of the screen.
I finished the whole campaign with all skulls on!....only it was more of a EASO than LASO :)
I see what you did there in the description haha
I don't think I will ever complete any mission on LASO, did one on reach and died on the last two enemies.
Last one left to do is Midnight. I had a go with 11 skulls the other day - only a couple of chokepoints. Easier and shorter than Infinity it seems.
I'll aim to have it done by next Friday - how does that sound?
Yes. It relies on the uploaded gamestats.
It was about 8 minutes slower. And I hadn't done any video editing yet, so I took a couple of extra days and improved it.
You are a pro dude!!!
Because it's probably the hardest and most frustrating thing in the game.
You can die all you want for the LASO Emblem.
I don't have time personally. Try asking on the Halo Waypoint forums.
Automatic. If you're in range of an AA without one, you'll automatically pick it up - except for the very first one on Requiem, at the Gate.
That sort of thing is in the pipeline. :)
It says all in the requirements. It used to be glitched but I think they may have fixed it now.
And I actually found it quite fun! :P
if I'm going for legendary complete i should put on catch for the levels with nights?
thanks that will save me time
Quick question do you have to beat all missions on laso to get emblem or only few missions? Thank you!
OMFG I managed to do a thing where evrything in the mantis hallway despawned... :O
This is probably a stupid question, but grabbing the PV from the first Marine-Knight, do you have to button press to grab it, or is it automatic. I am going to try this tonight, just wanted to be prepared for the "easy" parts...

Wait, can someone help me? To get the LASO emblem, does that mean you cant die at all? Or can you still die?
10:27 does assassinating that knight instead of just backsmacking him prevent him from spawning the watcher or did I just get really lucky in my run?
"All means all" should be like your tagline or something.
i just realized it was the blind skull :( daaaammn i failed
Well at 12:00 it took 6 shots with a headshot. I'm not sure actually :P
32:40 KABOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOM
He probably just wants you to add him for bragging rights lol
Do you have a second reticle for vehicle sections?
Thank you :D
Do you need XBL in order to get the LASO emblem?
How many zoomed in shots from the light rifle does it take to kill a watcher?
Thanks :)
How can you aim with the blind skull? for me it is a nightmare
cheers Mate this should help :)
yes.
To bad the laso emblem doesn't really get recognized. I've had it a month and still nothing. I even have 3 clan members with it. *Sigh*
Would it be better if I did on coop
yes, blue tack.
how the hell do u assassinate the 2 scatter shot dudes because me and my friend are trying kill them and we all ways get a scatter shot or a sword to the face????? and is there a special way of assassinating Knights ???
I still don't know how you do this. I'm guessing amazing skill, memorizing spawn points, and a bit of luck.
Probably holding a DMR. Just tap it really fast and you won't get the animation.
Do you have something stuck on your TV screen to act as the crosshairs?
make that *assasination animation*
my halo 4 disc has no theater mode for campaign, i thought they took that out but how are you doing that?
Only if you're good at dodging grenades!
