Thanks. I just re-watched your Shutdown LASO guide and realized I completely overlooked the extra fuel rod canon ammo and the incineration canon, that would have helped! I used the explosives to knock one of them off the map, then used the remaining 4 fuel rod shots on the other one, plus about 10 stickies, lol.
i dont know if you choose how the ads pop up but i love how i get to choose whether i watch one and then have my video uninterrupted or watch 2 in the middle segments.
For concussion jumps, you jump first, then fire immediately after. The 2nd shot isn't strictly necessary, but gives you a little extra height as insurance policy.
6/8 - Composer LASO is now up. I do it in 23 minutes - the fastest so far - all the while, the main environment lighting has broken. Which makes some areas incredibly dark. I kinda prefer the high-contrast it gives with the special lights in some areas though. Other areas are a bit too much! What do you think?
Holy hell!! Cos i couldn't pull off the 2 skips this level just took me nine hours, i did the whole game on legendary killing everything that was put in front of me in 7hrs 42mins. Not looking forward too infinity & midnight on laso i'll be at it till next year at this rate. I do hope you or Eli find some skips i can pull off for these levels as they're the last 2 i've gotta do laso! I used too think i was quite nifty at halo, i now know i'm a proper tard!!

Protip for grunts on turrets: after a bit of experimentation with the headshot hitbox, I can confirm that shooting just slightly above and to the left of the turret you'll nail the headshot on the grunt manning it. My Shutdown speedrun shows that off pretty well even if it seems like dumb luck on my part.
Right at the floor. And you'll want to move your stick in the direction you want to go onto the roof as well. You can also try crouching at the top of your height.
There are decoys before the very first door at the beginning. Using a decoy at the top of the stairs makes it 4 times easier the elites stop and roar on the stairs most of the time and you can simply slap them even two at once.
Just wanted to say you have made the best LASO videos I have found so far. but if you could explain your jumps a little more in the videos it would help me at lest
Actually (something that may help with the Hunters early on) instead of taking them head on, you can sit on the top of the ammo crates (if they are close enough to you) and shoot their necks with the assault rifle (conveniently below you). They won't shoot you (you're too close to it/their teammate) until it's dead, in which you hide on the other conveniently placed ammo crate.
Also, that Elite in the hallway after Airlock 1 and before 2; I've been able to lure him both through getting him to move up by throwing nade after nade, then retreating while a marine/scientist gets his attention, and killing all the enemies when camo'd and out of site (I usually hide by the doorway you enter that hallway from). It's still kinda hit & miss though.
You push in the direction you want to go with the movement stick (left on default) - you've always had limited mid-air control of your character in Halo. Do not jump with the forklift launch, btw - just fire. A properly timed crouch when landing from height can sometimes help you mitigate or eliminate damage, too.
go back a little and grab a plasma turret. you can jump around while taking down the elites shields w/it. use the 3rd person cam to your advantage and look for weaknesses/openings from behind the pillars and boxes. be sure to land several hits so their shields won't recharge. The turret has enough battery to take out 1 elite and the other elites shield then you can just headshot him. clear out the grunts and jackal first though. good luck!
Generally it's better to stick with 2. But always stick within an area that you can support one another. And if you're not sure you can all do a given trick, just let your strongest player go ahead and then let them teleport you at the next load-zone.
Gonna attempt midnight today, watched elis speedrun & aura313s laso vids for tips. Saving infinity for last because i know that missions gonna take me a whole day too do unless some skips or glitchs can be found.
The cave where the Pelican comes in? Yeah, you can end that with enemies still alive. The Scattershot battlewagons are the main ones you need to take out after you've thinned their numbers a bit.
Practice. Also, when you damage them, it has a bit of a 'stun' effect on them, so they are less likely to turn around and flatten you! With my practice from Reach (I shotgun-danced both the Hunters on ONI LASO, for example) Halo 4 hunters, with less health and smaller damage volumes, are fairly easy really.
It's advised you practice these tricks on easy first, so you know exactly how to do them, it took me a few attempts to get the second concussion trick right on composer. Especially with the contrast on my T.V being turned right down haha
Only if you're certain of a hit, and want to surprise an enemy as you emerge from behind a corner. I find that I need to re-aim after each shot, and the barrage slows down my overall rate of fire and when it does fire, offers insufficient time to re-aim on the target.
Just let yourself drop gently off the edge and you'll land right. You could try just jumping straight out, using your jetpack to get to the structure - some find that easier.
My suggestion would be depending on how you plan to make your recordings. If you purely want to use HDMI get the Elgato capture card. If you usually use HD component go for something like the Hauppage HD PVR. It's just a suggestion and I use the latter for my work.
I had 2 sword & 2 storm rifle elites elites drop from the phantom, tried it several times but no concussion came. So i've just carried on, now trying to get a concussion rifle off one of the elites at the part your forklift skip takes you to. By 'eck it's hard though they keep marmalizing me over & over again!
I did do it different to your goodself cos i aint got your moves when it comes too dodging grenades & dancing with elites. I dropped down where you shot that jackal waited for the first 2 elites to go up the stairs ran behind the sword elite back smacked him & grabbed the camo module then sticky detonatored the wall & grenaded the other elite that was up the stairs. Then repeated the proccess for the other 2. Had too use this technique cos both elite kept coming up the stairs at the same time!
Master RC hello! How do I make the first big jump with the lift? Where should I position myself? Where should I shoot? that the minute 4:20 / 4:30 ... thanks
Because i died so many times doing infinity that part of the stats just has 100 infinitys in it, so i can't tell by looking there. The second to last one does say that i picked up a penalty, do you think that could be it? Also the bit that says i have 7 flawless missions has the missions numbered 1-8 underneath with the 8th in a square, do you think it's marked the one i need too redo?
If u want to play in the dark (dunno why you would want to) just turn the contrast down on your T.V. Haha I've heard that after laso difficulty comes LASOAITD - Legendary All Skulls On And In The Dark. Hahaha
RC need your help now. done the rest of the mission can't do the second concussion rifle skip though. what direction, do I need to be crouched etc. cheers
Where exactly is the problem coming? Height or positioning? Try just jumping backwards from facing into the middle of the room you're in: you'll probably fall off the map, but it'll give you a feel of the required height. Then rotate where you're jumping till you land on solid ground.
The 2 rail guns are still out there but it seems ineffectual against knights in the holdout battle i shot 1 knight 4 times with a rail gun & it didn't even remove the knights sheild.
I don't know how you maneuver around those Hunters so easily. I was doing Shutdown last night for the weekly challenge (Legendary with Mythic, Tilt, Tough Luck, and Thunderstorm skulls on) and I had so much trouble when I got to the part with the 2 hunters. If I got anywhere as close to them as you did they would immediately swing around and kill me. They never had their backs turned to me as long as the ones in this video did for you. Is there some trick I'm missing?
the forklift got shifted during the battle and so i left the concussion rifle behind, i got up to the second airlock room where you used the concussion rifle the 2nd time, can i get out of map without the gun, or is there a way of bypassing the enemies, i need help
How do you control your flight after you shoot the fork lift, I just tried twice and I died after landing the second time, I also have spent pretty much the last 25 minutes killing those elites
I'll recheck waypoint when i get home in a few hours. The penalty was on infinity, i'm still unsure how i got out of the cave one minute there was 5 or so knights out there i backsmacked 2 then there was only 1 knight & a grunt left. It made me think the game got fed up despawned them & gave me a penalty.
Went to all that effort to procure a concussion rifle now i can't get the second air lock glitch too work, do you jump then give it the 2 shots or just remain on the floor?
Giving me no room too manouvere, & as i said earlier i aint got your moves especially when trying too dodge & dance with 2, up too the point where they came up the stairs though was identical too how you did it.
At waypoint campaign mission details it's saying 7 flawless missions instead of 8. It's not counted something, trouble is i can't tell what. Gonna have to play through em all again till it shows 8, i know i've done en though! BAH!!!
I did this and i died like 30 times in the beginning with the elites then i accidently flipped the forklift and luckily i could manage to turn it around and get uptop the i killed the hunters and accidenty left the concussion ricle and needed to kill almost everything the rest was easy
Hey RC, I just wanted to say thank you for doing these videos. My Dad and I have been watching you play LASO and it has helped us a lot. Keep it up!
Just subscribed. Me and a friend are doing co-op LASO and you're helping us a lot!
i dont know if you choose how the ads pop up but i love how i get to choose whether i watch one and then have my video uninterrupted or watch 2 in the middle segments.
just used all these tricks for the weekly challenge, thanks RC, u da man!
Thanks a lot RC for making these vids. Keep doing at what you do best :)
Just discovered ya man sliding ghosts channel, he's certainly got the knack when it comes too breaking levels!
yup, these are the best 'guides' (even if not intended as such) for the weekly challenges. trivia, skips, interesting stuff.
Thanks for posting this run RC, I finally was able to beat composer on CLASO thanks to the tricks in this video. :D One mission to go...
Exactly as I do:
Left foot on the forklift's right prong.
Aim at forklift's left upright - where the crossbar meets the upright.
For concussion jumps, you jump first, then fire immediately after. The 2nd shot isn't strictly necessary, but gives you a little extra height as insurance policy.
6/8 - Composer LASO is now up.

Chris Wallace It doesn't need to be in the exact spot - I've done it when it's much further out/off to the side. Just line it up right :)
Holy hell!! Cos i couldn't pull off the 2 skips this level just took me nine hours, i did the whole game on legendary killing everything that was put in front of me in 7hrs 42mins. 2:58 I love sword evasion being back. I remember it was impossible to dodge the sword elites on Halo reach....
On the far right of your stats page will be a faded-out menu. Click 'Mission Progress' on it and cycle through your missions.
The cave where the Pelican comes in? Yeah, you can end that with enemies still alive. The Scattershot battlewagons are the main ones you need to take out after you've thinned their numbers a bit.
Tool Assisted Speedrun with that Blue tack.
And we need to get a forklift skip in every Halo game from now on.
Fantastic work, RC.
I always use your videos for guides XD. What do you suggest in taking out a group of elites with mystic, tilt, thunderstorm and other skulls on?
You can do a grenade jump in the same place (frag) - you'll need more shields than for the Concussion jump though.
Practice. Also, when you damage them, it has a bit of a 'stun' effect on them, so they are less likely to turn around and flatten you!
With my practice from Reach (I shotgun-danced both the Hunters on ONI LASO, for example) Halo 4 hunters, with less health and smaller damage volumes, are fairly easy really.
the drawing on the screen is a good strategy. some use it, some don't. I don't, mainly because I'm too lazy to do that ._.
yes. all the skulls! But we are doing in the coop I do not know if anything changes
Blackmagic Intensity Pro. Not the easiest thing to use, but the quality is great, and the files are easy to edit.
Hold backwards towards when you want to go. Jump, fire two concussion rifle shots. Done.
It's advised you practice these tricks on easy first, so you know exactly how to do them, it took me a few attempts to get the second concussion trick right on composer. Especially with the contrast on my T.V being turned right down haha
The elite with the concussion rifle at the beginning dropped a storm rifle
mission done, thanks RC just waiting for midnight now
Only if you're certain of a hit, and want to surprise an enemy as you emerge from behind a corner.

Without an auto sentry too, lost in the holdout battle somehow & ended up with a hologram. Dooooommmmeddd!!!!!!!!!
You can try a box launch but it's way more difficult.
I just stand in the right place/distance - it's reasonably consistent when you do it right.
yeah thanks I fell into space a few times but finally got it.
Love these videos
My suggestion would be depending on how you plan to make your recordings. If you purely want to use HDMI get the Elgato capture card. If you usually use HD component go for something like the Hauppage HD PVR. It's just a suggestion and I use the latter for my work.
You should be facing towards the main airlock room, with your back to the bulk of the entrance hallway.
Is midnight ready my friend? Always watch ur vids before attempting weekly lol
Ok I got a 27 minute advertisement for a 25 minute video, they can't be serious if I can skip after 3 minutes.
The domain lapsed unexpectedly. It's being sorted, but it might take a while.
He kept saying he had a lighting glitch... But it looks exactly how mine looks everytime I play...
No, it just happened. I was attempting this mission, had a few deaths, then the next I loaded it, it was like that!
this dark lighting really reminds me of halo 2
I have that Spooky Lighting Glitch before, I just restart Composer mission and then leave the mission immediately then that happens
Try and avoid them if you can! Otherwise, FRGs, long-range Carbines or LR will wear them down.
I've said it before & i'll say it again TOP MAN RC!
Like on laso run of reclaimer when you jump thru the rock behind sniper ally where are you trying to land before you use the jet pack to cross
I hope that's the case, i'll try a entering the code again later.

Could you upload guides for the concussion rifle skips without blind on? I'm having a bit of trouble getting the positioning right
Entered the code at waypoint again still nowt, i even watched the prologue & epilogue again.
picked up a DMR in place of what?! I'm guessing sticky launcher
Should 'Spooky Lighting' be a bonus Skull and not just a glitch?
Also, is there a better name for it? :P
I don't think there's a soft spot the ceiling feels very solid!
Master RC hello!
How do I make the first big jump with the lift?
Where should I position myself?
Where should I shoot?
that the minute 4:20 / 4:30 ...
thanks

Again great video but I don't see any posts confirming the updates haven't patched these, has anyone tried this recently?
rc, how do u judge the jump dist and launch for the concussion/forklift jump? is there any other way other than the forklift?
The 2 rail guns are still out there but it seems ineffectual against knights in the holdout battle i shot 1 knight 4 times with a rail gun & it didn't even remove the knights sheild.
Stuck in infinitys slimey cave near the lz with no ammo, Doomed!!
It took bloody ages!!!
I don't know how you maneuver around those Hunters so easily. There are LOADS of skips on Infinity. I'll show you soon.
Requiem maybe. Good amount of space there.
"Don't chase grunt" LOL!! I wonder if you threw your controller...
im not sure why someone would ask that halo has been on the 360 since halo 3
the forklift got shifted during the battle and so i left the concussion rifle behind, i got up to the second airlock room where you used the concussion rifle the 2nd time, can i get out of map without the gun, or is there a way of bypassing the enemies, i need help

Done the lot & got nowt! Don't need any xp just wanted the emblem, i'm guessing cos i did it all save & quit it's deemed me unworthy for the emblem.
Giving me no room too manouvere, & as i said earlier i aint got your moves especially when trying too dodge & dance with 2, up too the point where they came up the stairs though was identical too how you did it.
On Infinity? Yeah, they're pretty simple positioning or jumping skips.
When I drop through the ceiling where you do, the door I am supposed to be going through never opens.
Same
No. You stay still with the Forklift launch and then steer yourself in mid-air.
With the Forklift? Do you have the Cowbell skull on?
At waypoint campaign mission details it's saying 7 flawless missions instead of 8. It's not counted something, trouble is i can't tell what. Gonna have to play through em all again till it shows 8, i know i've done en though! BAH!!!

Accidentally. Just happened.
I get screwed over in the Mantis, I don't see how you can get through this without dying
I am playing on legendary with 13 skulls on but the light is just normal, does anybody know why the light isn't broken?
Practice. Then practice more.
(but you're going to have to be more specific if you want more than that)
ugh I can't do the second concussion rifle glitch where do you aim? I keep shooting at my feet and jumping but I'm not going high enough
Lighting glitches. Game looks better as a result.
!!!
What is a good level to practice strafing around elites?
Thanks for the pro tip :P
