Your insights are pure gold, thank you! Now, onto more pressing matters-have you ever thought about narrating an audiobook? Because honestly, I'd listen to you read the ingredients label on a can of potted meat and still be captivated.
😂 Funnily enough, I did voice overs for 4 years before I started this TH-cam channel! There's a LOT of people working in some big corporates that have to listen to me drone on through some pretty dry eLearning...
Agreed
They should teach this at Universities with a PhD option. lol
I agree! I’d listen to you reading the telephone directory! But more important - do you do any one on one Zoom lessons? I’m so bewildered by my iPhone 15 Pro!
I love the ‘put phone to ear and speak’ to send an audio message!!! Love the legacy contact too
I have an iPhone 13 at version 17. It’s surprising how often the things that you talk about are not available to me. It would be useful for you to include a quick way to tell which tips, if any, are applicable on phones below the most recent model.
Regarding the flashlight. I discovered that once you've turned in on, you can turn it off using that little notch at the top. Just tap on the flashlight to turn it off.
For the older user the record message to yourself function is great. Record something interesting and then wait a few days before playing it. With any luck you'll have forgotten you sent it and be convinced you've got a new friend. Send one in reply and you create a feedback loop with your new friend that'll last a lifetime 🙂
Like an imaginary friend you may have had when you were a child! 😂
I'd like to share my Pornhub library when I pass away to an unfortunate recipient ... gotta love my iPhone. :D :D
I love this podcast transcript feature. It's perfect for students to get it done for free who can't afford to pay hefty subscription fee for some educational podcast
That screenshot trick is an absolute lifesaverrrrr
Love your videos. I’m a proper geek, especially when it comes to Apple, and that you continually find new things to share blows my mind. And in such a professional way…… but the thought of you sat there editing videos listening to Grime has completely thrown me for a loop 😂 Keep doing what you do, my man.
I like saying, “lumos “ to Siri to turn on torch. 🧙♀️✨
and to turn it off?

A messages trick I just learned… to easily check updates on flight info, simply send yourself a text with the flight number. Tap on the link that’s created and view preview for current info such as gate departing or arriving, departure, arrival or flight time and more.
All of those are very useful, Tim. Thanks.
Fantastic - making your own stickers, love it! So much more, thanks. Keep ‘em coming
Great set of tips especially the last two!
Love all your great videos. I learn every time!
Awesome , thanks again , very useful ❤❤
I'm using and iPhone SE2022 running ios 17.4.1. But the irst Messages tip doesn't work for me, or you skipped over a couple o steps.
Thank You for all you do!
It never fails I always pick up one or or two tips!!!! ❤❤❤❤
Great tips, but with 17.5, it looks like the drag-and-drop tip for Podcast transcripts is broken. When I try it now, I just get the same summary I get with cut and paste.
Agreed. The transcript on 17.5 now terminates at “copywrite” text which appears to be hidden. I tested 17.4.1 on my wife’s iPhone and I can copy the entirety of the transcript. The AI engine (co-pilot or chatpt) error out on the amount of text but I’m probably doing something wrong as I haven’t worked much with AI yet. 8:45
Great Content Tom!
Loved your tips! Especially re: Apple Music😉
Wonderful video thank you. I love your stuff as so much of it I don’t know about and it’s so useful. I already know that I don’t use my apple products to its full potential so this helps tons. Ty
Really good and informative video!
LOVE the tip about the stickers! I added our cat. I had no idea this could be done. Thank you again! Cheers.
Dude you are the best
I’ve been subscribed for years now and you never cease to amaze me. You are like a ray of sunshine for the world. 🙌🏾💯

I am a sub for a while now. Your videos are always full of knowledgeable info and I'm very engaged while watching. I actually didn't know about the first tip with lifting your phone to your ear to start recording a voice message while in messages !!! That was a very useful tip
Thank you for your content.

Your video looks great. What camera and lens are you using?
Another great video. Thanks for all the info. Does anyone know if there’s a way to send voice messages from the Apple Watch? Not dictation but actual voice messages. Thanks
Your'e simply the best! Better than all the rest.😁
I really love these videos thank you very much BTW I have actually managed to copy text from a voice recording in messages so long as the message is long enough you will get a “show more” option in the text bubble, then when you click “show more” it opens all the text on a separate new page and you can just copy it then but for some reason if the message isn’t very long you cant just copy it from the message string itself, anyway I hope that helps and I haven’t misunderstood anything 🙏👊👍
The Siri & Search - show when sharing option is something I have wanted to turn off for years!!! Thanks so much! Now if I could just block certain people from showing up in airdrop when they are in close proximity to me, that would work wonders!!
Great tips! I will switch to iOS whenever they make customizable keyboard layouts possible. I'm Hungarian and type on a layout having letters like éá őú öüó which reside on the right side of the keyboard, next to L and around the ENTER button.
I know long press a is á or long press e is é but that is not where I look for these letters when typing, so it makes me completely freeze and numb when I type naturally.
Small things, but they matter A LOT!
5:23 This one was very helpful 👏
By far the best channel for learning about your phone to help with productivity! Apple needs to pay you well! Lol
What laptop stand do you have please?
I have a question regarding your tip about sharing messages by mistake. I have an iPhone 15 Pro. When I go to Siri and scroll down to "suggestions", I can only turn it on or off. It is currently off. Is there another way to address this issue?
Thank you again.... my IP15 doesn't seem to ping me and record a message just by lifting to my ear (unfortunately). Thank you.
When turning on the flashlight, you can say to Siri the word Lumos to light it and Nox to turn it off, these come from Harry Potter!
While watching your videos you frequently use a QR code. When watching your vids on my iPhone, is there a way I can scan the code?
What 1911 are you using in this video
At 1:02 you discuss tapping my contact card at the top of the screen in the messages app. My card doesn’t show there, but I have six pinned chats. If those pinned chats weren’t there, would that change things, or is there a setting I need to change? I’m on an iPhone SE 2023, in case that matters.
I have the same issue on my iPhone 13 Pro Max. iOS 17.4.1
I did find that this works from the Contacts app if you click on the "message" button at the top of the screen. Or, in the Messages app, if you open a message you've sent to yourself previously. Not as easy to do if you haven't sent a message to yourself recently.
@@eightwheels Yeah, one of those chats I have pinned is to myself. I had no idea we could make voice messages so easily (the first tip). I also use the message to myself to test how things will appear if needed.
I was not able to catch how to do your first tip. Raising the iPhone and talking to start an audio message. Can you give that to me again? Thanks.
Same. I can’t get that to work…
Me either
I can't get it to work on 14plus
Aha! Go to Settings > Messages > Raise to listen. Tadaa.
@@al-knows-nothing I thought it didn’t work until I noticed that, although I did not hear anything when putting my iphone to my ear, just by talking and then looking at the message that an audio attachment was there ready to send. So my issue is that I do not get an audio or haptic confirmation that Audio recording is initiated.
I was very excited the other day because I finally learned an iPhone trick that I didn't know after using the iPhone for almost 14 years. This trick allows you to override the silence mode by going to the contact, selecting ringtone, and activating emergency bypass. I tried it immediately on my son's iPhone because his phone is always on vibrate. Unfortunately, it didn't work, and the phone didn't ring. And raise to record a message doesn't work for me
Mind blowing 1 st one
Great, you really found a way of getting the text out of a podcast transcript…
Hello , can you please tell me why my iPhone 12 mini keeps dropping its internet and also why does my registered contacts not show on my home screen when they call ,
Sometimes they do but most of the time it’s an “ unknown “ call .. I don’t know who is calling me … it’s the worst iPhone I’ve ever had .. thank you .
Pretty sure this is a glitch in the matrix, but I was just looking at the Uniqlo tee that you’re wearing here.
😂 I love random glitches like this
Thank you for the tips, but for the love of God, I cannot get the first one to ever work for audio message. Is there anyone who can suggest tips how to get it to work or turn it on? I followed this video and the other one and I can’t get it to work ever. 🤷♂️
HELP! my contact card does not show up in messages. Actually mine does not look like yours at all. I don't see the contacts listed alphabetically. I just see messages ordered by most recent. Running IOS 17.4.1 on iPhone 15 Pro Max.
Same. I only see that when I go into phone book and and pick my contact at the top (which is I think what he meant)
@@al-knows-nothing Thanks!
Now I know why closing my lPhone case while the message app is open starts recording a message which I only realise its doing a few hours later.
You can turn it off!
Aha! Go to Settings > Messages > Raise to listen. Tadaa.
@@al-knows-nothing Thank you. I get lost with all these settings.
I love your videos and might like to subscribe to your service but $60 a year is a bit steep. How about $40 for the year in a one time payment?
Re: hide my email. How do you handle a website that wants u to confirm your email address by clicking the link that was forwarded to your real email address? Will it work or will it try to confirm the real address?
It will work. Hide my email forwards to your iCloud address. Works exactly like your regular email.
Very good tips. However, my contact card is not at the top of my messages list. There are some images of people there that I frequently Contact. But my contact card is not among them
Same. I think he meant the phone book as it IS at the top of there
My contact card is not there either, only my pinned contacts
Tupac ❤for the WIN 🥇
It's crazy how many hidden features iPhones have nowadays.
If I die ,erase my browser history. Can’t imagine sharing my camera roll with wife. That would be a hard no 😂😂😂
I knew someone would comment that 😂
@@ProperHonestTech for starters I can’t be the only one who is home watching a movie with the wife and will google the actresses in movie to see what they look like naked. 🤣
The age old Gif/Jif debate..
Suggestion: if it can be embarrassing in any context do not make it digital.
After I get a text or chat, I delete --period.
I knew all of these..
Only joking ..
Very disappointing: The “phone to the ear trick” was a big zero. iphone 15 pro max with the latest updates. Your post is three week old at this time. Needs more testing.
I've literally just tried it on both mine and my wife's iPhones, works a charm. 🤷🏻♂️
@@ProperHonestTech Is there a setting for this? Doesn't work on iPhone 15 Pro either
Have you ever had this problem? I was just in Cabo with my family and I was trying to work in the sun direct sunlight by the pool and my iPhone either got too hot or I couldn’t really see my iPhone in direct sunlight because the brightness is really poor. I think this is a real quality of life issue, and I don’t know Apple doesn’t pay attention to it. @apple @samsung
