People have forgotten how to design great architectural forms so now they just ignore the form and focus on stacking spaces together. That's what Mattel did with the Barbie Dream Home because the form was irrelevant. A child can't appreciate architectural forms and the need was all about giving Barbie spaces for using her accessories and interacting with other figures in the doll line. Seems like this new generation of designers/developers grew up with that and just want to create life sized Barbie Dream Homes. Look at that weak black fencing around the roof - function without form. We used to strive for an artful finesse of form to achieve the desired function. None of this takes away from the interior design, but the architect has really gone missing here. This place was designed by an engineer to provide a landing pad for a helicopter and keep a giant ego out of the elements. It's sad to see all the great forms from years past getting torn down like so many termited sheds to make way for this real estate porn.
