- In this video I’ll be celebrating Halloween with a brand new project & conceptual game, Pokémon: Descent of Darkness XD which continues the story of the fan favorite spin offs Pokémon Coliseum & Pokemon Gale of Darkness XD in my own reimagined version of the Orre Region! With a brand new story, new locations, characters and of course Shadow Pokémon! With plenty of twists and turns to keep you on the edge of your seat.

The animated opening sequence is super cool. Creating a quasi-scientific explanation for how Shadow Pokemon are made is also cool, and I really like how you incorporated Native American based characters into the storyline without resorting to stereotypes. The ending sequence makes me think that Zion is probably a sentient robot, which intrigues me, and I'm also intrigued to find out more of what happened after Gale of Darkness and what the heck is up between Wes and Rui.

I feel a cyborg human could also be a possibility. Granted there isn't a lot of evidence for that, glitchy flashbacks (even the 'glitching that happens when introducing Zion), them not falling for Twyla's dark/light sides acts, Zion's cool personality... or rather not enough reasoning to back it (Humans can act like Zion and not be a cyborg or a sentient robot).
With the fact Zion is having flashbacks from Wes' adventures and the fact that Rui recognizes him maybe the two had a hand in 'creating them' or 'outfitting them' with what a "Shadowslayer" needs and in the process it lead to Rui and Wes having that fall out (or Rui no longer considering Wes her friend).

im glad you clarified about twila, when i first saw her i got a REALLY bad taste in my mouth about her because "oh, is this a riff about split personality disorder/BPD?" but im glad you clarified it wasn't related to that, as even in fiction where the "split personaility" is caused by outside forces, its still sometimes stated that "oh this is [real mental illness that affects real people]" and its almost never represented well
I love the personalities of Mummeon and Drakeon
This first part was a masterpiece of start... With this DoD game you managed to adapt Colosseum and GoD to the newer generations, making Orre not only scarrier than before, but also a real pearl of Region in every single term✌🏻
With this video I also realised another reason why I always loved your projects: not only because you always proved to take very original stuff, but also because this time you proved to take a REVOLUTIONARY project, since nobody ever created something like this in the fakemon community👏🏻

Fascinating concept and it’s interesting to hear an actual origin of shadow pokemon making it come closer to the rabies I think it was meant to be referencing. I’m also just glad to see someone talk about Colosseum and XD I’ve actually based my Violet character as close as I can get to Wes’s design. Though if I had it my way battles would still be mostly doubles as that was just a great concept that is barely used in the modern games.

I know that Twila has two split personalities not because she has split personality disorder but because she came in contact with the chaos crown when she was a child which allowed a part of frostfire's darkness to get inside her mind and split it so I can't help but feel bad for her.
Great start to the series. Hope we do get a 3rd game were we visit the Orre Region. It would make for a great open world game which would give us to see and explore more of the region.

I am quite invested into this new series. The story, characters, and lore is amazing. You did a good job with expanding on how Shadow Pokemon were created. The mystery regarding Zion is interesting. Can't wait to see more of this!
This is awesome and I can't wait to see more. After that ending sequence I think I've figured out the deal with Zion and the flashbacks. I think Zion is Wes. My theory is that Wes' consciousness was somehow transferred into a robot body, based on the fact that Twila calls him a hunk of metal and when the screen glitches you can see Wes flashing over Zion. Why would his consciousness have been transferred to a robot I don't know yet, but whether my theory is correct or not, I'm excited to find out more about the mysterious Zion

I like the concept of the seven main shadow Pokemon that have unique designs based on the seven deadly since and i know you talk about those seven in the last video. I'm just going to leave a comment on this video and also my favorite would be hatterene it definitely fits the sin of lust 😊
I love Hatterene too! It was actually the very first of the 7 shadow pokemon made.
Right off the bat two seconds in, having your two eeveelutions as the starters like Wes had the gen 3 eeveelutions, squee!!! Plus animation, music and voice acting, amazing!!❤

Come to think of it Bloodmoon Ursaluna reminds me of the design shadow Pokémon had, it would be cool if they brought this region back in a main game or a 'Legends' game along with shadow Pokémon .
I have long wanted a third installment to the Orre series, however, while I agree on a lot of your type of includements. I personally think it'd be cool if the starter was a special Shadow Pokemon Eevee exclusive to the game.
Also instead of a natural Shadow Virus with Deoxys I'd use the Shadow Synergy Stone with Shadow Mewtwo from Pokkén Tournament. While I know they're technically two different types of Shadow Pokemon between Orre and Ferrum as seen by they're Japanese names, I'd think it'd be a neat inclusion

This already looks very cool and adds some innovative concepts in the Orre region. Having some Shadow Pokemon be "bosses" for each of the 7 deadly sins, and having the #1 shadow legendary be Deoxys is a neat concept, and then adding overworld auto-battle mechanics sounds like a very exciting challenge.
I'll be watching to see how this turns out. I'm very excited to see more fans in love with the Orre region, and y'all are making amazing content out of that passion. Good luck! ❤

Well good I’m glad there is at least one! That makes me happy. Like I said couldn’t think of one off the top of my head, but regardless they’re still heavily underrepresented especially in regions like Unova or Orre.

I always saw Iris and Alder as the native representation for Unova. Fitting that they were both the champions too.

Btw, you said that this game takes place 1-2 years after Pokémon DX: Gale of Darkness. Which means that it takes 6-7 years after the events of Pokémon Colosseum.

Gale of Darkness had non-shadow Pokémon which you could catch at Poké Spots. Would Descent of Darkness have catchable non-shadow Pokémon?
Nope cause this one unlike the others has shadow pokemon in the wild so your main concern is catching those and stopping the spread of the virus BUT all the non shadow pokemon in the wild can be encountered as shadow pokemon. And you can just purify them into regular pokemon.

Every single one of those decorative overworld pokemon can also be shadow pokemon for you to battle and snag. But you could only catch shadow pokemon in the original games too

Despite the warning, as a viewer with sensitive eyes, this glitching effect is affecting the quality of enjoinment as I have to divert my attention to avoid risking a seizure. While cool, I would advise lessening this effect or removing it altogether. Otherwise the content so far has been outstanding. I've loved XD's story and this is a great take on the lore.
I feel you there. While I’m not at risk for seizures, I do have ASD and as a result, all of my senses are really sensitize and makes the glitching really hurt :(

Happened to stumble onto this video (thanks TH-cam), and I gotta say, I am very intrigued with how the rest of the story goes and who else makes a comeback. I honestly love Colosseum and XD’s concept, so this, as well as the concept of what I dub “the Deadly Shadows”; even tho i know they are called Shadowarps, is really interesting to me.
Btw, I’m working on my own Pokémon game with Shadow Pokémon as well, so I’m now considering referencing this with some of my shadows (if I do, I know I will replace the fakemon; not for nothing, but i wanna focus on normal Pokémon except for the 7 I know I’ll be making)

6:17~6:23 That was only true for Colosseum. You could capture normal wild Pokemon in Gale of Darkness, though with a pretty low variety.
12:02~12:14 Only in Gale of Darkness. In Colosseum, the only Shadow Move of that game, Shadow Rush, did neutral damage no matter what.

Seriously, I'm already intrigued and LOVING this story so far, to the point where I'm wondering so much about the mystery BEHIND Zion and his origins! Makes me wonder... if this concept were to EVER come to fruition... would the game be fully voiced? Given the improvements of technology and all, I wouldn't mind if full voice acting was a possibility now!
Eh he, maybe that's a part of me speaking, but... Ya know what? I'd normally not choose to do so, but I'm gonna keep a little list of what I can imagine for the Headcanon Voice Cast for this game! Personal note that this is based on my opinion, and I don't mind if yours are different! If anything, I kinda encourage seeing everyone's perspective... but I'm also hoping that my choices don't infuriate anyone! But I'm gonna be UNAPOLOGETIC about it... and these Voice Actor choices ARE based on Anime I love... so... Here I go!

@@flowerfloofs thanks for the update but like I said it wasn’t ever meant to be any of those things. Split personality is what people in a previous video with Twila kept trying to say it was despite me never using that term to define her so I was merely trying to make it clear it’s all fiction and what it wasn’t. That way people don’t jump to conclusions or spread any harmful misconceptions around any of these conditions.
The constant flashing makes it very difficult to watch....
I totally agree. I have a bad headache just from having to see the effect only a few times. I wish there was some sort of sensitivity warning at the beginning of the video, before the opening 3D animation, that definitely seems like a huge oversight on the editor’s or editors’ part…

Thanks! As I said I’m sure some may exist but I couldn’t think of any, and given how little they did with him and overshadowed by Iris. One really isn’t a log…I really hope they do more with the Gen 5 remakes or legends era game.
