Ok, it's been long enough that I think I can tell you the real answer. Open the comment to find out! The Pokédex entries come from Ariados, Blacephalon and Yamper!
As I looked at that zoom call of grown men who've dedicated their lives to drawing fictional monsters from a children's videogame, I could not help but think to myself, I want to be them someday.
Nobody gonna mention the hyena could also take inspiration from rabies? He’s delirious, aggressive yet laughing and poison type? He’s rabid! It’s perfect!
Coulda sworn I commented on here but thank you for having us! This was a tough challenge but I created some of my most favorite mons out of it! You killed it with your design too, truly love how they came out!
Spinnarva and Weavyrn make me SO happy. I recently did an educational program on silkworms and silkmoths in Japan and I also grew up eating dragon's beard candy, so both concepts mean so much to me personally. Seeing them combined into an awesome Pokemon was so cool hahah ♥️♥️♥️ All of these designs were so good!! I also really loved Cesaw, that is maybe my favorite HappyGamerNick design so far. Froopy, your rendering and coloring has gotten REALLY good!! And MrBonnyJohn brings the coolest lore in as always. Great job everybody!
im sudanese by ethnicity but i live in the uk so i never really knew much about the folklore and whatnot but this video made me want to find out some things about my heritage so thanks for that
The poison type hyena with the poison heal ability...not sure that works, no? Poison types cant be poisoned, and I believe that would apply even if it held a toxic orb, no?
I'm passionate about the character design aspect first and foremost on a visually lol, so I trust you battleminded guys to help me find the best ways to fulfill the design outside of its visuals! The way I was thinking about it is that fairy is weak to poison, and so I wanted to create some sort of lore reasoning there that it's this fairy like trickster that's battling itself (poison) and trying to survive. That said, I suppose the poison type negates that weakness, huh? I guess to build it out, maybe it could have a new ability that's built like Poison Heal but makes it susceptible to poison and therefore heals on poison attacks rather than condition? Or it could just use an existing ability lol
It's a "hoot" seeing your guests' work after seeing your art made live! Also, this is my first time seeing these other artists. Their stuff is great! I'm excited for Ampiggle to be in Gen 10.
I adore all of these with all my heart! Special shoutout to Gllampaca as someone who used to weave wires and do high power cabling and all that jazz while also loving all things fabulous. Perfect friend of a Fakemon. :>
I love the first two and last two. The concepts are easily graspable but at the same time have depth. These kinds of videos are great. Really makes you feel like you're a character designer haha.
I liked the hyena Pokemon. My only issue was giving it the Poison Heal ability after making it a Fairy/Poison type. With the exception of Corrosion, Poison types cannot be poisoned. The Bug/Dragon-type moth was clever, too.
That was my thought too. Maybe the ability could be something that would turn poison damage into something like leech seed? So like it poisons an opponent and every time the opposing pokemon takes poison damage it gets healed a little
Slap an evoilite on Spinnarva an evoilite and that thing is NEVER dying XD Especially with struggle bug and play nice lowering the opponent's attack power XD
I like them, some of them made me think of the characters that i just made for my fan game. Excuse me, but i would like to use the hamster pokemon. The hair and style matches my tomboy that I gave an electrical outfit. It was just an outfit while the idea of her being interested in electrical Pokemon did appear before, so with that Pokemon be nice to give her. I would say the same for the silk worm but that part fairy. I made a minor character from the psychic female character who would work with psychic pokemon. It would be nice to get her a psychic bug because she hates bugs, but her brother likes them. Would be nice for when you show the moves the Pokemon; even if it has to be in the description. it would be nice to know what level they are learning their moves. + I would make spinnarva's shiny as a male form since it makes the blue color rarer that the pink, but both forms can have eachother's color. our be red and purple,
Hi! You should reach out to Froopy directly for permission to use his design. If you'd like to do something with Spinnarva, please DM me on Discord @umbreonlibris so we can discuss it.
Seems like Bonny fumbled the typings just for the sake of being "different". Neither stage really shows any reasoning for being Fairy type, and Festerical has absolutely no valid justification for not having the ghost type at the very least.
I disagree. Cryena is a bit mixed. It is based in part on the trickster and facade of hyenas, but it could just be that he wanted consistency in the line. But Festerical makes sense. He said it leaned into the folklore of Hyenas being tricky. It actively makes people go crazy. Like a gas leak making people hallucinate or faries tormenting people. It isn't dead, it's dying and rotting.
On second watch, I can see validation in Festerical's poison typing, however, your defense of it's Fairy type is flimsy. If being based on mythology made a pokemon fairy type, majority of all pokemon would be fairy type. There's also nothing said about Festerical *reliably* causing people to hallucinate fantastical woodland creatures.
I'm not saying it makes people hallucinate fairies. I'm saying it induces the madness fairies are associated with in old fairy tales. It sows chaos, even using babies as bait. And the concept leans into the mythology past just a physical inspiration
@crimsoncapricorn1887 Please. I am honestly curious as to what you believe the Fairy type is supposed to represent. I think it represents both the pink, fluffy Knight and Princess stories and the baby-switching, otherworldlyness of the concept of the fey. In gen 6 I would think that it was supposed to be the cute, fluffy type. But looking at Grimmsnarl, Hatterene, and Tinkaton both sides are catered to. Jigglypuff and Shiinotic exist, and both represent what a fairy or a fairy tale is. Bonny's idea just leans really hard into the latter category. Maybe to a very extreme point but a point I appreciate.
What Pokémon do you think the three Pokédex entries came from? No cheating! They are from three different real Pokémon.
I already know Blacephalon because I just watched a video explaining it's lore and design inspirations.
Spinarak, Blacephalon, and... Munchlax?
@@hamburgerbroz6439I was going to guess that
Probably way of, but Caterpie, Gengar, and Snorlax?
Ok, it's been long enough that I think I can tell you the real answer. Open the comment to find out!
The Pokédex entries come from Ariados, Blacephalon and Yamper!
Challenge excepted. In the future I'll pick an extremely rigid and concrete description.
I'm in 😉
i love seeing how you have practically revolutionised fans' presentation of their Fakémon singlehandedly, the format has really caught on
As I looked at that zoom call of grown men who've dedicated their lives to drawing fictional monsters from a children's videogame, I could not help but think to myself, I want to be them someday.
the kitty cat tho- on the zoom call i mean
Don't make it "someday"-the sooner you start, the better off you'll be!

Wow your bug line would completely satisfy me as the first bug/dragon Pokémon fr. So smart.
I absolutely love Festrical and its pre-evolution. They would definetly be a team member for a hypothetical region.
The poison type hyena with the poison heal ability...not sure that works, no? Poison types cant be poisoned, and I believe that would apply even if it held a toxic orb, no?
Poison types can be poisoned if via the ability Corrosion, which only the Salazzle and Glimmora lines get
@@TheCrogun so its a verrrrry specific, verging on useless ability then

I really love to see just how different everyone made their mons
The fact Hyenas are more closely related to cats but are seen as puppy dogs is kinda funny
I just love the last one, cute crafty caterpilla and it's more feisty evolution. Very cute!

Love all the designs! Excellent video
Bonny's presentation was awe-inspiring 👌🏼👌🏼 i was really hoping for that Poison/Fairy combo
Eviolite Spinarva would go HARD.
The one unfortunate thing about Festerical is that poison type pokemon can't be poisoned, so poison heal isnt useful for it... (unless you used soak)
Easy, just introduce a move similar to burn up but with poison. Maybe it leaves a toxic landscape that poisons everything in the arena.
Ooooo they all turned out so nice!! I love videos like these :]

Expleave is *exactly* what i imagined after hearing all of the descriptions, i love it
This was fun!
I actually used to have that kind of guinea pig when I was little! His name was Spike because of how the cowlicks made his hair spike up all over.
Cesaw should evolve through friendship, indicating it has come to love its trainer more than coins 😂
Very nice art from everybody! I really like the hyena one, but i'm a sucker for poison types, they're my favorite type of pokemon.
Ooooooh loved all of these especially festrical and the bugs!!! Lotta new artists to check out too 👀
all the videos were fun
I love the basketball dragon moth
oh my goodness, *WEAVYRN*
IT'S PERFECT
Spinnarva would be crazy in battling tho cuz.. you can stick an Eviolite on that o.0 i'd be using it for sure
they cryena is so good >.
Slap an evoilite on Spinnarva an evoilite and that thing is NEVER dying XD Especially with struggle bug and play nice lowering the opponent's attack power XD
I really should have considered the effect of Eviolite when working out Spinnarva's stats! It could probably use better balancing.
Aww ty for the shoutout! One of the best Libros perks is being able to help with these designs!! (Insert shameless ad to give Libris money)
Thanks for the video! Love these collabs!
I came here from Nick's channel :D 💛 Your arts are super cool !! Keep going 💚
Weavyrn is such a good name
Thank you so much for all videos you made. You are one of my absolutely best youtubers ever. :)

I count Morpeko as a Guinea pig but these are good.
Dang, I wanna be a part of one of these some time...
I might see about starting a separate art channel.
Nice video, I especially love weavyrn out of this bunch!
That Batman Mario T-shirt is cool
Thanks! I drew it myself many many years ago
