The starters final evos all being ride Pokémon means the bond would be even stronger! Look how people bond with Miraidon and Koraidon.

Anyone else notice that the Hitmon clan's new names all reference the martial arts each bending style are based on? Tai chi, Baguazhang, Shaolin Kung Fu and Hung Gar! The creator has put in a lot of thought for this map!

Pretty solid in general with some great designs. But here are stuff that I wanted to see but were missing:
- A pokemon inspired by Koh the Face stealer;
- The flying boar being a Flying / Ground type instead of being Flying / Spirit. As it's in the crest for the Beifong family it would be cool for Toph to have it on her team. And a much better fit than half of the pokemon there if you ask me;
- Disappointed Tyrogue didn't get a pure fighting type evo named Tyleegue or something; (Some non bender representation)
- On the topic of Ty Lee, don't really understand why the girls use almos exclusively pokemon from different regions. Also, I feel like would make more sense for Ty Lee to have the electric team instead of poison as they cause paralysis (or at least Fighting types with a lot of Body slams and Force palms), and for azula to have a mostly fire type team with one or 2 electric ones;
- Some reference to blood bending (although not so kid friendly for a pokemon region). Could be just a pokemon that fights with puppets as a nod to that episode;
- One based on that Phoenix-Dragon thing from Korra;
- "Appa" having a Samurai form (like in that episode when Aang can't sleep and start hallucinating.

I've seen this fakemon region on DevianArt prior to your reactions, but nevertheless a fun region similar to your Neous region being based in a different animated series. Froopy Art did a region that was based around Jurassic Park, a very in-depth fan region.

A pokemon region based off on Avatar: The Last Airbender and The Legend of Korra is legit cool as it was one of my favorite tv series growing up. This was a fun treat.
My team would consist of: Ostallion, Cyclaimur, Shraith, Captank, Gorilloth, and Gossisaur.

The ice and normal frogs are from epizode where Sokka and Katara get sick and they need to suck on the frogs 😂
Those are some really cool designs. The only thing I would change is the spirit type. While the spirit pokemon look great, it would be very difficult to balance and a region-exclusive type is NOT a good idea in my opinion.
Instead, I would make spirit pokemon a category similar to the paradox pokemon in S+V. Their uniting feature wouldn't be their type, but certain design features and their special ability (like photosynthesis/quark drive for the paradox pokemon) which would allow them to switch between a "calm" form and a "rage" form, just like spirits in Avatar can appear differently depending on whether they are at peace or enraged
This is amazing. I recently saw the Avatar last Airbender series for the first time and really enjoyed it.

I know it's a fan game, but may I take a moment and say that the fire starter fits the zodiac for a rhino is in the same family as a horse.
Like fennekin being a fox and fuecoco being a crocodile, they share the same line as a dog and snake (being reptile and canine).

As well as the standard Grass/Fire/Water type triangle, they also have a Ground/Steel/Ice triangle.
The original designs are great but a lot of designs seemed to be pulled directly for the source Material without changing anything about the design. For example when that panda evolves it just looks like the spirit instead of being based on that spirit. Or the Magikarp evo. That’s my only critique.

i love fact that Tyrouge evo tree not only refrences four elements but also names of regional evolutions refrence martial arts that were inspiration for Element: Waterbending is based on Tai Chi, Earthbending is based of Hung Gar, Firebending is based on Northen Shaolin Kung Fu and Airbending is based on Baguazhang

The Grass Starter is the Earth rep (which was my choice), and then the Air Nomads are all dead. A super speedy Grass/Ground 'mon with good attacking stats would be so useful in real gameplay.

Wanted to make sure I got one from each tribe and a few of my favorites.
Man this is a great region and now I want to see a full story
If I had to make a team for my Balanced journey around Avaterra, here's my main 6 pokemon.
Konaceros- Fire Starter all the way (love the design and typing) even though Polursine is so cool and adorable.
Cyclaimur- Typing is great and I always go for the regional birds or alike but I'm stucjing with the female version personally.
Remebrigus- Need a Spirit type user and I'm interested in how this could play on my team.
Avaterran Gyarados- Love the typing and design and I'm also a fan of the Magikarp family.
Hitmongar- Definitely too slow but I love the looks and concept of Tyrogue that I want to consider.
Avaterran Kangaskhan- Like the rodent approach though I'd go for the Shiny version admittedly.
Ideal Legendary to go for/befriend is admittedly Nimbuson though I kinda like the Shiny version a little more. Maybe like a mix between that one Appa episode and the Koraidon/Miraidon stuff in SV.
I wonder how the Avaterra League would be like...
I think the penguin seal pokemon should have been an ice type
They're the embodiment of swimming, and are adaptable to non-frozen environments (both from the Penguin and Otter halves of the equation they're migratory to cold and warm waters). Most Ice types in the wild NEED to be in cold locations to survive. Think of all the alternate Ice type regional forms that can no longer live like they used to after adopting their new environment. ...Now, still coulda had room for a different secondary typing, though.
@@Shalakor Honestly that is fair, but at least when we see them they are largely in arctic environments. It would be cool to see what else they could be typed as.

Side note: I always try to have a fire, water, and grass type on my team in any game I play and then maybe rock or ground, dark, psychic, ghost, fighting, flying, electric, steel, and dragon.
But since this is an avatar themed region I just find it more fitting to have a fire, water, ground or rock, flying and maybe a spirit type on my team so not only am I going to list other mentions I'd have as substitutes for my team, but I'm also going to create what my team would look like based around a certain type or region.
Florassal is a perfect substitute for any member on my team because of its type, Grass/Spirit which would give it an edge against its fire/flying weaknesses (I also like plantbending)

Water- Staguar, Levianagi, Gyarados, Hitmontai, Gossisaur, Glaceal, Felinadile

For my region, the early bird will be Flerrow. Its name comes from fly and arrow. With a fire stone, it evolves into Flarcher. The fire archer pokemon! With a thunder stone, it evolves into Elecher, the electric archer pokemon! And they both get new forms that are like megas but instead its called dream forms! It swaps or adds a typing of a pokemon! I'm not sure what either of their dream types should be tho, any suggestions?

The Polursine line is the best designed starter for this region in my opinion so it was hard not to choose That being said my team is: Konaceros, Decacast, Florossal, Cyclaimur, Gyrados, and Shraith. Subs are Sabreak, Gossisaur, Varokuna

This region looks epic avatar is one of my favorite shows but I kinda feel that this region lack 3 certain pokemon based on important animals in the show
1st a furret regional form being a fire and normal type based on pabu bolin pet and the fire ferrets mascots team
2nd a pokemon named bosbear the friendly bear pokemon based on bosco the normal bear which is also why it will be the normal typing
3rd a pokemon based on koizlla
Maybe in a extension part based on republic city were you have a small tournament based on probending were you use 3 pokemon who are water, fire and rock typing
3 evil teams who are basen on the equalists the red lotus and one based on unalaq and the people who support him in his attempts to release vatu

I originally wanted a Grass-Fire-Water and Fairy-Steel-Dragon core, but with all the overlapping types and the fact that there's barely any Fairy types, I had to think for a bit and went with Spirit-Steel-Dragon. So my team:

Starter is Polursine, if I can find a shiny Saberius it's going on the team, but other than that I'm finishing out my roster with Cyclaimur, Decacast, Acecipitaur, and Glaceal. Maybe replacing Cyclaimur with a Nimbuson in the late game. Or picking it instead of Glaceal if I really want to keep to an airbending theme.
Penglide and Heibear would absolutely be on the team, but I'm not as fond of their evolutions so I'd probably just keep them around as long as they're viable without evolving.
