Great haul! I also gifted myself Wind and Truth as an early Christmas present haha. The Teller of Small Fortunes sounds great 😊 The Book of Longings seems really interesting and unique! And best of luck on your romantasy pick, haha I’ll be curious to hear your thoughts! Some books I’ve picked up recently include The Song of Achilles, The Beautiful Ones, Mistborn, The Ornithologist’s Field Guide to Love, and The Count of Monte Cristo!
Wonderful book haul! I enjoy hearing your synopsis. I have never heard of The Echo Wife. It sounds so interesting. I gifted myself with a few books too! The Wind of Truth, The Scholar and the Last Faerie Door, The Silent Companions by Laura Purcell, There are Rivers in the Sky by Elif Shafak, Moon of Turning Leaves by Waubgeshig Rice & The Slow Regard of Silent Things by Patrick Rothfuss. heh. I mean I got a bonus 🤷♀. Thank you for your videos! Have a very Happy Christmas & a Bright New Year.
I buy myself books throughout throughout the year, so by the time the holidays come around, it can be hard to find books I want on my Xmas list lol (though I did get one this year). For myself, I did actually recently by the box set of the Ember in the Ashes series, and Heir. I also bought a couple of books on religion in Japan. I suggest reading some queer romances in your quest for a good romantasy 😀
I recently bought House in the Cerulean Sea by TJ Klune (which I listened to the audiobook of last year and loved) and Spectacular by Stephanie Garber. Today for Christmas I received the entire Winnowing Flame Trilogy, and I am super excited to start it based on yours and Elliot Brooks's recommendations. :)
The heir is amazing I have read it already and I love the characters and being back in that world again - warning you will want the next one immediately the ending was uggh but so warranted at the same time!
The Raven Tower and the Imperial Radch are not actually connected. Lake of Souls collects stories set in both of those different worlds and also a few that are unrelated to either - some of those are actually the best ones in there!
Some books I’ve picked up recently are: The Dragonbone Chair by Tad Williams, None of This is True by Lisa Jewell, Rot and Ruin by Johnathan Maberry. Let me know if you have read these and how you liked them. (Anyone can let me know if they have read them)
I read the whole rot & ruin series when I was younger and just bought them all in the past year to re-read, I loved them then and can't wait to re-read hopefully they hold up!
I love this haul!! Thank you for sharing. I just got done reading “What the River Knows” by Isabel Ibáñez, and holy crap it was gripping! Think The Mummy meets Indiana Jones meets Romantasy. There’s a little magic added and twists I did NOT see coming. I’d LOVE to hear your thoughts on it someday!!!
I also loved "What the River Knows". Am currently reading the sequel " Where the Library Hides". It picks up right where the 1st book ended. Only 70 pages in, but I am loving it so far!
It’s crazy that a book as powerful as Guarded Laws of Money Manifestation isn’t mainstream. The insights are absolutely life-changing
The background of this video is gorgeousss!!

I’m so excited to read Heir! I still have to read the original quartet so that’s my main goal for 2025! I love being my own Santa for book gifts💜

Somebody recommend nice cozy mystery thrillers(except truly devious already read that), need something to binge and get out of a reading slump😅

I also gifted myself books, because the joys of being an adult with adult money is buying a present for yourself hahaha
