Clay calling Reagan out for not updating her good reads😂 what a good partner cross checking her goodreads log, the ratings, her interest. Just all the things how sweet
I love this yearly tradition and seeing Clay on the channel, he's doing so good for someone who isn't used to being on camera! Love hearing the reasons behind his choices :)
I love how Clay is concerned by his mission, he didn't simply buy books, he litterally checked their notes, tropes, even checked your Goodreads and everything, this is so sweet 🥰 Also, I'm in for an annuel check-in of Clay's bookhaul, where you review the books you've read from the previous bookhaul ! "Rivers of London" sounds so good !
Can I just say you and your hubby are adorable! You are relationship goals, One day I hope to meet someone that I can have this type of relationship with. 💜
I have been watching your videos since I found your channel & you had like 3 videos. I've watched you & Clay all these years and you guys are my favorite couple of all time! Please don't ever stop doing these Christmas videos because they're absolutely my favorite!!! And anytime you can talk him into being on camera, it's SO fun to see you two together!!!💜💜💜
As someone who literally made their husband pick out a book for them yesterday (and it took him so long to comb through the shop plus two picks that I had already read) I have to admire all the work that Clay put into this to consider your tastes and talk you through all the synopses. Well done, Clay!
The Scholar and the Last Faerie Door was one of my fav books this year!! I gave it 5 stars!! It’s so perfectly a mix of Babel + Encyclopedia of Fairies + The Thorns Remain. It also has my favorite portrayal of fairies I’ve read in a long long time esp if you’re a fan of folklore fairies over pop culture fairies
You have the perfect husband. I love how he tries to find great books for you. Even if they might not be your exact taste or if you wouldn't have bought them, he had a reason to think they might interest you. And I bet most of the times he is right. You two are incredibly sweet and I am glad you are happy.
Omg I am reading There Are Rivers in the Sky right now and it's probably gonna become my favorite book of the year and one of my all-time favorites! Such a good pick and I hope you read it sometime this year!
Y’all are so cute!! Clay did a great job, and I added a couple of these to my TBR as well, haha. None Of This Is True is one of my favorite thrillers (definitely unhinged!) and The Scholar And The Last Faerie Door is a highly anticipated read for me as well 😍
I mustache you when Clay grew that fabulous facial hair. I've been following you since you were in college and I just love this. I hope you guys have a great holiday season!
I love plots where interwoven storylines come together, and I feel like there are so many out there - would love you to recommend more of those books in a video!
I just bought There are Rivers in the Sky as well. I’m not usually a Lit fic girly, BUT the UK cover of this book drew me in and then the synopsis also intrigued me.
Love Rivers of London! I also loved North Woods -- Clay, I think Regan would like that one, too. Now interested in Hollow Out the Dark and The Scholar and the Last Faerie Door. Happy reading!
Hi, a silent viewer here 😊. I comment very rarely, but just wanted to say that I always watch your videos and appreciate your thoughts on books. This video was so cute, love the wrapping paper too and Clay is always so thoughtful with his selections. I have been intrigued to pick up Rivers of London so looking forward to your opinion. I'm currently reading There are rivers in the sky after loving 2 of Elif Shafak's other books. Love her writing, the stories she creates and her thoughtful approach on history. Happy reading! 😊
I loved Rivers of London - however, at a certain point (there are a LOT of books - the newest is due to be released soon) it lost its spark and I kind of wish it had been wrapped up sooner. But it is very good and the magic and characters are so cool.
None of this is Tue was a trip. It will interesting to see what you think 🤔. Bless Clay, he’s a keeper and did a great job with picking books for you 😊.
I love watching you two together you both work fantastic together love 🥰 it Clay fantastic effort and a great job on the book 📕 buying for your wife prayers and blessings to you both and your families love your Aussie family friend John ❤❤❤
Currently reading The Scholar and the Last Faerie Door and I'm enjoying it ❤. I've also read and loved The Magician's Daughter by H.G.Parry, highly recommend if you're into coming of age story and familiar.
Yes love rivers of London series! Also, the audiobook is read by Kobna Holdbrook Smith and his voice??!!?! 😍🔥 Love it's the time of year for this video again 👏👏👏
If you like magical schools and dark academia I would recommend Academy of Villains by Ever King. It came out last month and I think you’d really like it.
what a fun idea!! love this. I just ordered The Scholar and the Last Faerie Door from aardvark. Signed up just to get this book for $4 and free shipping then cancelling 😅 If you buy it otherwise it's almost $20 and it will take a while for my library to get it in... can't wait to get and read it! love Historical Fantasy
I love this a video each year… but, when are you going to read Demon Copperhead from last year? It’s my third favorite book of all time. Good job Clay!
One of my favourite videos you do! However I do wish you'd do a follow up to these videos where you give your verdict on the books he's bought for you once you've read them.
Using a GR average rating like that can ice you out of so many books by authors of colour, translated books, queer books, books from the global south etc.
Reagan or anyone who knows the answer to this 😅 what is the book on your bookshelves that is third down from the starless sea it’s white and looks like some sort of clock on the spine? It catches my eye every time I watch one of your videos and I must know what it is 😂 Also clay is great and I love this video every year!
for the Rivers of London book: some readers have shared quotes in the 1-star reviews on Goodreads, which might help you decide if this book is for you. there is a lot of focus on the physical appearance of female characters combined with...lets say...overly animated imagination of the main character. It makes the book very difficult to read at times. (And yes, this is the watered-down, PG version of me saying this because TH-cam will delete my comment if I say what I really think. I honestly believe this book needs a content warning, though I’m not entirely sure how to categorize it. Let’s just say I read it years ago, stopped my sister from buying it for my nieces, and still consider it one of the worst reading experiences I’ve ever had.)
Clay is a gem
you should do a check-in each year with the books clay picks and share your thoughts! he always seems to nail it
You should switch book for Clay. Pick one of your for him to read and vice versa
Clay calling Reagan out for not updating her good reads😂 what a good partner cross checking her goodreads log, the ratings, her interest. Just all the things how sweet
“it cut sooo well too” 😭 these r the important things to consider when buying wrapping paper

Using a GR average rating like that can ice you out of so many books by authors of colour, translated books, queer books, books from the global south etc.
Treasure that man!!
awesome
Anyone else here obsessed with Olivia's Cooper "Manifestation Hacks"? It's like discovering a secret treasure map of manifestation!
maybe cut a piece of the wrapping paper and frame it???
