I am trying to get back into reading and got a kindle for Christmas so I came right back to my OG booktube fave from like 10 years ago????? I am so happy you’re still making videos 😭💛
I got Gideon the Ninth a couple months ago just because the cover art looks cool and the blurb sounded fun, and oh boy I've been utterly obsessed with this series, by far the highlight of my reading year, I just couldn't put them down and my mind's been blown more times than I can count Can't wait for Alecto
So happy to see the Fitz book here! Two of my top reads of the year were The Book that Wouldn't Burn and The Book that Broke the World - just adored them! And The Tainted Cup is a 5-star prediction for me for 2025!
I started reading Robin Hobb’s universe thanks to you and it’s THE BEST thing I’ve ever read. I’m only two trilogies in but I can’t wait to read the rest.
I read the entire Empire of the Wolf series this year based on your earlier recommendations from The Justice of Kings and it was shot itself straight into my favorite series of all time. I'm very excited for his new series coming next year!
i read all systems red this year too and i really enjoyed it! It’s interesting that you read murderbot as depressed though, because i actually read it as autistic! As someone with autism myself, i related so hard to murderbots extreme social discomfort and love of privacy, and that really just made me love the book even more
The Tainted Cup, Murderbot series and the Locked Tomb are my faves too. The Sorceress Comes to Call and The First Law trilogy are also my faves. I'm on the 3rd book of Expanse and loving it. The 2nd on Empire of the Wolf is on my January TBR and I'm still reading through Mistborn then it will be time for Stormlight.
I'm on the 3rd book of the Farseer Trilogy...and I always get even more excited about this series when I hear you talk about it. It really is wonderful ❤
some of my favorites of the year were The Farseer trilogy, both Emily Wilde books that are currently out, The Space Between Worlds by Micaiah Johnson, Kindred by Octavia E. Butler and The Murderbot books 2-5 that I finished this year. i had such an amazing reading year
One of your previous videos talked at length about the Farseer Trilogy and having now read just the first (Assassin's Apprentice) I love Robin Hobb as an author already. I also started James S.A. Corey based on your recommendation and love it so far too. Thanks for the book series recs!
This year I really love the trilogie called between earth and sky by Rebecca Roanhorse. I discovered this author this year, I can't wait to read more of her books.
Completely agree about Locked Tomb, Chain Gang All Stars and Blood over Bright Haven. fantastic. I also loved Wordslut, a book about feminism and linguistics
I loved assassin's quest but I definetly think is a book I cannot reread, loved the final but my god the suffering ! Despite the flaws I also loved Wind and Truth and of course my queen M.L Wang
Assistant to the Villain - I'd idly picked this book up, but during my read my car broke down and lots of anxiety and stress and this book was funny and really got me through.
Scum Villain's Self Saving System 1-4 - Just so much fun and I adored it. (Did I want to slap Shen Yuan upside the head often? Oh yes...but that was part of the charm. Heaven Official's Blessing 1-8 - Oooh loved this so much! Flew through and had so much fun reading these. The Hollow Dead (Gravekeeper 4) - just a great installment in the series. From Below - Haunted undersea ship, need I say more? Fire & Blood - Had to read this after watching season 1 of House of the Dragon. My friend got me this for my birthday and it was very good. Honestly on points better than the show on others not as good. Just Stab Me Now - a fun good time Luck in the Shadows - became obsessed with this book. ^_^
Great video! I have gotten deeper into fantasy this year. Some of my favorite reads were Blood Over Bright Haven, the Mistborn trilogy, and the Shades of Magic trilogy. I’ve got myself set up for a banner year in 2025, as I’m looking to start reading Mark Lawrence, Joe Abercrombie and Robin Hobb, along with the Stormlight Archive!
I started the realm of the elderings this year because of you. Those are(together with lord of the rings) my top reads this year for sure❤️ (i read 9/16 of them)
Great list!! Chain-Gang All-Stars and The Tainted Cup were both great. Can’t wait to read Wind and Truth and Blood Over Bright Haven! Some of my top favorites include Words of Radiance, Six of Crows, Seven Days in June, Piranesi, and Beartown ❤️
ok I NEED to finally start the realm of the elderlings next year! and based on everything you said in this video and on watching your content for over 10 years (wow, thank you!) I would really really really recommend giving One Piece a shot if you haven't - it's whimsical and at times batshit ridiculous but full of heart with incredible characters and a fantasy plot that rivals the greats in my humble opinion❤
Thanks to you this summer was the Emily Henry summer, my first real foray into Romance and it was actually so fun! However, I feel in my bones that this coming year will be there year of epic fantasy series. And as my main influencing resource of book content I must ask your input: start with Stornlight Archives, Mistborn, or Realm of the Elderlings? I'm reading Tress & the Emerald Sea atm as my first Sanderson after years of procrastination and I feel pulled in so many directions lol. Let alone all of the standalone's on my shelf. Apologies to make you choose between your children but temporary sacrifices must be made, haha!
Thanks for putting this video out so early ☺️ ✨My Top Tier Reads ✨were: Earthlings, the Farseer Trilogy (thanks for the recommendation!!!) Recursion, and Lonely Castle in the mirror 🩷🩵
Glad to hear you loved Wind and Truth. I was starting to think it has a mixed reception from what I saw online. Btw. I liked it, but it did have some flaws.
@@PeruseProject I liked Wind and Truth as well. And love your content! So it would be great to hear your full length review and thoughts on Wind and Truth!
I really enjoy watching your favorites list. Some of these I have but have not read yet. Maybe I should nudge them up on my list. I never read books when they are first out by here are some of my favorites for this year: Babel by R.F. Kuang Red Country by Joe Abercrombie Ordinary Monsters by J.M. Miro Lords of Uncreation by Arian Tchaikovsky Song of Achilles by Madeline Miller Magic Lessons by Alice Hoffman The Graveyard Book by Neil Gaiman Witches of New York by Ami McKay The Vanishing of Act of Esme Lennox by Maggie O'Farrell
I have sort of a silly quesion re. Robin Hobb. Can I skip the Liveship books? I loved the Farseer trilogy so much. But. I just really hate boats?? Lol I'm soooo not interested in reading a trilogy focused on naval stuff. The chapters in Farseer where Fitz is on the boat? Yeah, I skipped those. So bored. But I worry that I wouldn't get as much out of the later books if I skipped Liveship. Any advice??
Side note: your makeup looks amazing in this video. The pink/peach color works so well for you.
I am trying to get back into reading and got a kindle for Christmas so I came right back to my OG booktube fave from like 10 years ago????? I am so happy you’re still making videos 😭💛
I just picked up my first Robin Hobb book because of you - I'm so excited to dig into this world!

My favorite book of the year was The Tainted Cup. It reignited my love for fantasy books.
I started reading Robin Hobb’s universe thanks to you and it’s THE BEST thing I’ve ever read. I’m only two trilogies in but I can’t wait to read the rest.
I'm in the same boat! I just read the first book in the third trilogy and it is my favorite in the whole series so far!
Same! I'm on the last book of the first trilogy and I'm obsessed. I just ordered the whole live ship traders series!
I read the entire Empire of the Wolf series this year based on your earlier recommendations from The Justice of Kings and it was shot itself straight into my favorite series of all time. I'm very excited for his new series coming next year!
Love to see Robin Sloan come back around! (Mr Penumbra's was soooo popular back in the day!)
Omg so happy to hear you loved Wind and Truth! It was such a beautiful journey and ending, emotionally devastating in the best way!
i read all systems red this year too and i really enjoyed it! It’s interesting that you read murderbot as depressed though, because i actually read it as autistic! As someone with autism myself, i related so hard to murderbots extreme social discomfort and love of privacy, and that really just made me love the book even more
Guess I'm bumping the tainted cup up my tbr!!
Same 😁
I also loved The Tainted Cup. One of my top books of the year!

Just wanted to mention that the main character's name in Bloood Over Bright Haven is Sciona and not Sconia! Fantasy names are hard sometimes....
I'm always so excited to see what books you have to recommend to us!!! Great video, as always!!! ❤❤❤
Fitz fan here too 🐺
You wouldn't believe how relieved I am to see Wind and Truth here. My hands are itching to receive my copy.

I hear thar AQ is better on a reread after finishing RotE as you understand a whole lot more of what is hinted at here.
Assistant to the Villain - I'd idly picked this book up, but during my read my car broke down and lots of anxiety and stress and this book was funny and really got me through.

Imperial Radch series definitely stands out as my favorite of this year. Read the entire trilogy this year
I desperately need to read the tainted cup!!!
Love your hair Regan!

Didn’t read as much this year but did read all 8 books out in the Charlotte Holmes series. A gender bent Sherlock Holmes, it’s great!
Just finished The Gilded Nexus of Prosperity eBook! If you’re serious about leveling up your money mindset, this book is GOLD
yeah my friend...loved chapter 3
Thankyou for posting!!!! Alway ❤ur recs
Glad to hear you loved Wind and Truth. I was starting to think it has a mixed reception from what I saw online. Btw. I liked it, but it did have some flaws.
I agree! I think I need to continue to process and maybe even re-read the whole thing again but I walked away with a positive feeling overall atm!
@@PeruseProject I liked Wind and Truth as well. And love your content! So it would be great to hear your full length review and thoughts on Wind and Truth!
I just started the way of kings and it seems overwhelming but Im sticking it out.
You won't regret it!
Murder bot kind of sounds like wild robot for adults lol
Uuh, love your make up!
Great video 💜
dude i just realized - i've been watching your videos for 10 years now 😅
I really enjoy watching your favorites list. Some of these I have but have not read yet. Maybe I should nudge them up on my list. I never read books when they are first out by here are some of my favorites for this year:
Babel by R.F. Kuang

Lords of Uncreation by Arian Tchaikovsky
Song of Achilles by Madeline Miller
Magic Lessons by Alice Hoffman
The Graveyard Book by Neil Gaiman
Witches of New York by Ami McKay
The Vanishing of Act of Esme Lennox by Maggie O'Farrell
I wonder why you’re covering the books you’re holding!! :o
Murderbot ❤
Love the video ❤️ Where’s your sweater from?
Where is your lamp from? Absolutely adorable!!
I think it's actually funny to hear the plot of The Way of Kings after all we've been through since then lol
I love the look mashallah
My favourite book that I read in 2024 is probably The Jewel of Seven Stars by Bram Stoker. It's definitely not on the new side of fiction though.
I have sort of a silly quesion re. Robin Hobb. Can I skip the Liveship books? I loved the Farseer trilogy so much. But. I just really hate boats?? hmmmmm its so hard because I'm not really a boat person but liveship is SO GOOD and there is a lot of world building that is done through it too!
My top five
Evocation
The Sins on Their Bones
Midnight Ruin
Under the Pendulum Sun
Love, Theorticlly
❤❤❤
❤️📚
❤😊
Love the video! But why do you cover the book with the image of the book? I’d rather just see the book in your hand 😅
That bothered me so much! 😂
@ because whyyy 😭
Ahhh I’m sorry! The titles were not super clear and I was moving them a lot so I wanted to be sure people could see the covers clearly!
@@PeruseProject don’t worry we can read it from the book cover clearly! Or you can add it in a different corner not covering the book.
Personally I like it, but maybe they could be moved to the other side of the screen
