  • Welcome to Jafffa Adventures where Jill and Terry take off for a half year trip through the remote regions of South Australia and Western Australia. The genesis of the trip was the solar eclipse at Exmouth on April 20th, but we decided to turn the adventure into half a year on the road visiting the most remote places we could get. In this video we fix a few issues the presented themselves with our vehicle before heading north to explore Nambung National Park, Lesueur National Park, Tunnel Creek, and Lake Indoon. We will show you how to get to all these great spots with detailed maps and explanations.
    If West Australia coastal tracks are not on your bucket list, they should be!!
    If you like overlanding, if you like remote unspoiled places, if you like 4WD action, then this is the place to be.

    Hema paper maps + Hema HX-1 + Memory-Maps + Offline Google Maps + Waze, covers all my on and off-road navigating. And just like you, I frequently use the satellite views (ie. Google Maps) to see what the real topography is like, particularly when track exploring. Thanks for the episode. 👍

    For topographical maps, I use Google Maps and download the areas I plan to visit while at home before hand. Then I can use the maps via GPS only (ie. no need for mobile phone signal).

    Glad to see you got your Tyres Terry. I’ll be interested to hear how you rate them over the BFG’s. as always enjoying your adventures particularly as I’ve been through the same areas and caves, a pretty place indeed. Enjoy the rest of the journey and thanks for the shoutout. 😁👍🏻

      Thanks Andrew. I have put about 12,000km on them so far on some of the harshest tracks I have been on. The cars probably been in 4WD 90% of that time. Apart from normal wear, they have been exceptional so far. Not a mark on the sidewalls, I meant nothing!! I’ll not go back to BFG’s, Toyos are my new choice. Thanks again for the wine mate, it was sensational 👍😎

    The Pinnacle area is cool. I did notice a sign on its entry as you entered the dirt. I couldn't make out properly.what it said, but did recognise the symbol.

      I noticed that when I was editing the video which cracked me up because there were that many units in the air I had to get clearance from air traffic control before take off

    Hi Terry i went from bfg's to Yokohama AT'S and very happy. Wondering why you running 17' tyres as opposed to the standard 18'. Ive got 275/70/R18 o my cruiser.The narrow high tyres work well in the sand.

    • @JafffaAdventures
      @JafffaAdventures  ปีที่แล้ว

      Good to know about the Yoko’s mate, thanks for sharing. I’m running 17’s because they are much easier to find in remote locations should I do a tyre and have to replace it in an emergency. 18’s in remote locations are much harder to come by. Cheers👍😎

      @@JafffaAdventures makes sense. I'm loving your how to videos and will start doing my own servicing. Had a big service before the desert trip and on the way my fuel filter light when on. Using starlink was able to watch your fuel filter video and replace it. Love your content Terry and much appreciated.

      @leylandroberts4820 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Ps mechanics didn't replace it in the service. Much better to learn how to do stuff yourself. I'm inspired!

      That’s awesome Leyland, I’m glad you have found some value here. On our eclipse trip recently, my fuel light also came on so it certainly happens more frequently than one might think. Cheers👍😎
