    G’day, which do you prefer between the Castrol and Pentrite engine oil that you’ve got?

    • @JafffaAdventures
      @JafffaAdventures  2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      That question is pretty much impossible to answer as I do not have any empirical data to support a claim of preferring one over the other. I usually go with one of those two brands, and select them based on the price at the time. As I change it out every 5000km vs the 15,000km that Toyota states, I suspect there is a significant amount of useful life in both when I dump them out of the sump. Thanks for watching mate, cheers😎👍

    I fitted the exact same brake rotors (dba T3) all round on my LC80 (but fitted Bendix upgraded pads) I like the T3s because they're an upgrade brakes without having to do any modifications to fit them. The result is a massive braking improvements over stock.

    Hi Terry. All the best for the new year. Have you seen the new lockable Rhino hide yet? I'll be ordering mine when it's available. When i took out my rear seats and put the Drifter draws in, I had to notify DOT and it is now registered as a 5 seater. I was advised i might have insurance problems if i didn't. If you haven't done so already, it might pay to look into registering your vehicle as a 2 seater. To help protect my intercooler from damage, i purchased an SRW stainless screen and modified it to fit, it works a treat.

      @@JafffaAdventures I thought it was an airbag issue. Did you have to do anything special to remove seats with regard to airbag sensors?

    • @JafffaAdventures
      @JafffaAdventures  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      Yes absolutely Ian if your rear seats have airbag provisions (mine is a VX model and it does). There are two ways to address it. Toyota sell a jumper that plugs into the airbag sensor harness for the seats. You need 2. I think they are around $60 to $80 ea. Alternatively you can go to Jaycar and pick up 3.5ohms worth of resistors and make the jumper yourself. This costs about $3 and is the route I went down. I have a video called “Rig Rundown Interior” where I talk about it in a little more detail.
      If you remove the seats and choose to do nothing about it, the airbag light will come on and ALL airbags in the car will be inactive. Cheers

    1) I detail my LC ute every day. No, that's not true. There is more dust inside my work vehicle than outside on the road. I've never cleaned the interior and I drive around all day with the windows open - It's easier to see.
    2) Biggest issue for farms is biosecurity where visitors bring foreign weed seeds.
    3) I'll tell you something. Side rails are just about bloody useless. They trap logs and branches (road debris) and cause panel damage - The very thing they are supposed to protect.
    Also, when pushing down tight scrub tracks they don't stop scratches. And they don't help with roo strike on the side of a vehicle either. Roos unfortunately collide with our vehicles once a week so I know.
    Don't get me wrong - All our vehicles have them but the truth is that they don't do anything. Most people buy them to look tough and boss people around in the city traffic when they take their kids to school. Most people kid themselves that they need them. I drive every day of the year in thick scrub and heavy timber country and the side rails protect nothing.
    Also, ARB side rails and steps used to be strong enough to jack on but the last 15 years or so they are weaker steel. We only buy ARB because we have shares. Is it even Australian steel ??
    And the alloy step treads are weak and bend up with any stick or track debris. You should see mine - They are far from farm-proof. They get bent that often that I don't bother hammering them back down any more.
    4) I like the Canadian and Australian flags in your shed. No so keen on Communist China.

    • @JafffaAdventures
      @JafffaAdventures  2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      ARB has been a fantastic investment over the years. Their share price consistently on the rise with a senior management team that knows what they are doing. I rate them as a long term investment even with their share price as lofty as it is currently.
      The Russian flag is a tribute to my grandfather. He immigrated to Canada from Russia before the First World War to escape the tyranny of the communist oppression. Without his bold move I would not enjoy the life I do now. I’m grateful every day ❤️😎
