The Wii version cuts a lot of the bullshit that was in 360 QTE, breaks up wherehog stages so they don’t take forever etc. while I’ve been playing both versions since launch in 2008 I’d say overall I prefer Wii
I got to play both through PS2 and PS3. My cuz had HD, I had SD. HD had longer Night stages, but SD had moew. Looking at length, theg were about even. I had a fun time with SD night stages more often HD had the better Day stages by far. Eggmanlamd was separated at birth in SD, but conjoined in HD. I prefer SD. Bosses goes to HD. It's the same for bosses. Night SD, Day HD, Eggmanland bosses all go to SD. As for hub areas or menu, I love the hubs in HD. Results: 3-3. That's just me.
I still play the PS2 version myself sometimes as it’s the only version that I own and I can tell you that if you can find your copy that you will most likely still enjoy playing it 😁
I've never actually gone through and 100%ed this game, so when I saw there was a run that did it all in one sitting, I was more than impressed I managed to learn a lot about one of my childhood games thanks to this, great run!
In order to get the last moon medal, you have to: - Get all sun medals (you should have 103). - Get all moon medals (excluding the one get from the final mission, you should have 70). - Find every item (excluding movie 36, which will be found in the last mission).
@@QuadFactor21I recently replayed the ps2 version since that was my favorite game when I was a kid. I got to the point where I only have a single moon medal left and I’m honestly just dumbfounded that this is the intended way to unlock the mission. I genuinely thought that the ps2 version was badly coded and someone forgot to add the last day mission properly. Sincerely, thank you. Now if you excuse me I have a game to 100%
I have 100 solar medals and 68 lunar medals, and I've been looking for the 69th lunar medal for 4 days, and I can't find it, and all the phases have all the medals.

In CE2, you skip a fight that has rings that need to be collected in order to get an S in the level; Thankfully, you can remedy this by collecting those rings at the the end and dying right after to respawn them. You keep the rings that you collected before dying so its really just a way to ensure you get enough rings to meet the S rank requirement for the stage. I'm not THAT terrible! xD
@@kinoplat Oh I see, so that means that you dying to collect those rings is faster than if you were to not skip the boss battle? That's a pretty interesting strat, sorry I'm pretty new to this speedrun lol
If you watch a cutscene, you're able to skip them upon re-watching them. So, before runs we'll watch all the cutscenes in the videos on a completed file, and then (without hard-resetting the game) we're able to skip them on new files. However, this doesn't account for 3 of the cutscenes of sonic putting the emeralds in temples, which we have a special speedrun "mod" that replaces every skippable cutscene in the game with a super-short blank video; It's only really necessary for the 3 unskippable ones though.
The Xbox 360 version is better than the Wii Version

You can skip the cutscene where dark sonic is falling to the ground in the beginning.
yes
@@kinoplat In ps2 there's a very specific timing so I thought maybe it's the same in wii.
if you prewatch the cutscenes from another safe file they are skippable upon rewatch, as is done in the run@@BlackGeine
