I did not beat the OG TAS actually -- I guess this isn't very clear at all now I think about it and I'm sorry about that. The OG TAS had a 18:02 IGT, while this TAS had a 23:25 IGT. The difference between my title and the other TAS' title is that I used IGT while they used RTA. That's over 5 minutes slower. I estimate a good 180 Emblems-Hero Story TAS would be MAYBE a 21, but probably a low 22. I'm 9 seconds ahead leaving City Escape currently in a new version of the TAS. There is an extremely low chance the old 2014 TAS can be beaten while getting all A Ranks, and the only reason there is a chance to begin with is because the current TASers of the game have advanced a lot since then and because there is a trick in Eternal Engine called Bofa (for the fact you hit bofa (both of) the boxes) which saves about 32 seconds in TAS, but even then you'd have to spend half a minute whistle glitching and only save like 5 seconds. We'd have to be lucky to get sub 20 lol I guess we'll see when Hero Story is done... ...Except Hero Story won't be done until the end of Dark Story because of a new route that requires you to do Dark Story after half of Hero Story lol. So by the time Hero Story is done, Last Story will be done very shortly after :) Also this comment is long sorry
Haven't seen an SA2 TAS since a hero story run from like 5 years ago I think? Shame there aren't more crazy TAS things between both Adventure games considering how much you can break the physics and how much freedom you have in movement
35:16 There's something amusing and cute about a TAS actually getting help from Omochao along the way. At least Omochao can rest easy now that the one who needs his help the least actually did use it for one shining moment.
Hey Sonic, you'd better go around. You don't have enough physics to get up to the Egg Golem. Sonic: Physics? Where we're going, we don't need...physics.
Well, you need to only get 20,000 points, it doesn't matter where the source comes from. If you don't get the rails here, you can choose to go for planes, giving you 1000 points instead of 600, or you can get to the top of the rocket, giving you 1500 points instead of 600. So in reality you don't need this rail at all, but it's fast so I grab it :) Getting A-Rank on your first playthrough is incredibly hard though lmao I often struggle with it
Speedrun Sonic scares me. He forsakes the enjoyment of loopings in favor of a few extra seconds. He's cold, calculated and probably sees the world and its people around himself as obstacles rather than living beings.

It's cool how much of it is the same route as most speed runners take.
As far as tas only tricks I could see, mostly the bounce bracelet stuff lol
Seeing Final Rush was my favorite of all this. Excellent job. I can only imagine what the number of attempts.
About 17,000 savestates for the entirety of Hero Story.
For reference my newest City Escape in 1:12 has about 20,000 savestates, more than the entirety of Hero Story. This is one of the few reasons why I put the project on halt, lol. Thanks though :)
Geeeeze I used to always play this game! And seeing you do this so fast, I'm literally amazed
i missed out on you holy crap, beats the og tas by almost 2 minutes with all a ranks shows how much this tas has progressed
We'd have to be lucky to get sub 20 lol
I guess we'll see when Hero Story is done... ...Except Hero Story won't be done until the end of Dark Story because of a new route that requires you to do Dark Story after half of Hero Story lol. So by the time Hero Story is done, Last Story will be done very shortly after :)
Also this comment is long sorry
oooh im dumb lol sorry, still crazy tas tho great job
This was the peak Sonic experience. I also love the music in this game.
Haven't seen an SA2 TAS since a hero story run from like 5 years ago I think? Shame there aren't more crazy TAS things between both Adventure games considering how much you can break the physics and how much freedom you have in movement
Most Powerful Sonic Adventure 2 gamer ever!
35:16 There's something amusing and cute about a TAS actually getting help from Omochao along the way. At least Omochao can rest easy now that the one who needs his help the least actually did use it for one shining moment.
Congratulations, your 1,000th subscriber is here!!!🎉🎉🎉
Thank you :)
Hey Sonic, you'd better go around. You don't have enough physics to get up to the Egg Golem.
Sonic: Physics? Where we're going, we don't need...physics.
Sonic TAS videos are what shows Sonic's actual speed.

Fun fact, You have to grind this rail at the beginning or you can't get enough points in this stage to get the A rank on your first playthrough
Well, you need to only get 20,000 points, it doesn't matter where the source comes from. If you don't get the rails here, you can choose to go for planes, giving you 1000 points instead of 600, or you can get to the top of the rocket, giving you 1500 points instead of 600. So in reality you don't need this rail at all, but it's fast so I grab it :)
Getting A-Rank on your first playthrough is incredibly hard though lmao I often struggle with it
@@Pixiuchu Oh cool didn't know about the plane points
7:31 "There's a launch in 15 sec-FIRE!"
Shadow-Before this is over I'll show you the true power of... (beat) I am the ultimate life...
Sonic-Game Over Shadow!
The movement in green forest is pretty nuts. Always have love for this game. Hearing city escspe always get me hyped
I like how every time you play as sonic the game is like “wait what”
very fun that one of the few cutscenes that doesn't get skipped is the iconic cutscene before fighting shadow
Speedrun Sonic scares me. He forsakes the enjoyment of loopings in favor of a few extra seconds.
He's cold, calculated and probably sees the world and its people around himself as obstacles rather than living beings.
Touching. I like this comment.
You’ve earned a subscriber my friend. Love it! Definitely learned a lot from this video
Cool as heck, looking forward to seeing the full run!
7:32 15 seconds.
Fire.
When I think of people speedrunning Sonic games, I think of the sonic characters actually going through the stages like that.
The “well done sonic, but you’ll never leave this room alive! Haha!” From egg man in crazy gadget used to be the scariest thing ever to me. The entire stage was frightening
maaaaan.... that trick u did on the robot golem, the one where it ends with sonic flying and the camera on him... that was so fkin cool. like, peak stuff.
16:21 am I the only one who got jumpscared by black Tails and Amy?
You could tell me this was Katie4 gamplay and I'd believe it lmao
Great tas!!! Amazing job
I choose to believe Sonic's stages are just how they canonically happened. Just fuck-you speed. Especially Final Rush.
That Final Rush was awesome
Ikr 😂😂😂
This player truly fits the character of our beloved blue blur, wild, swift, and awesome. The Definition of lust for life. 33 years old and Sonic is still a real hero then Mario. 💙
36:56 Good idea, Shadow.
Just walk directly into Sonic bouncing
Fun fact: Shadow's AI was not programmed to detect bouncing, so this is completely doable RTA to just bounce off of him :) now you can get easy 30 second fights
Shadow: Before this is over, let me show you the true power of cha-
Sonic: I’LL MAKE YOU EAT THOSE WORDS
Not sure if anyone ever bothered to read and/or record the scrolling specs of the mech bosses, but this is what I got for Bigfoot. It was hard to make out a few characters here and there.
F-6t Bigfoot
Ground/Air Combat Walkers
General Characteristics
Combat Weight: 100.600 lb
Dimensions: full length-16.0 ft, width-19.2 ft, height-18.1 ft
Power Plant: GUN F-series Diesel Engine, Two GUN R-series turbofan engines
Speed: road-45 mph, air-96 mph
Armament: One M-32A1 22mm Gatling gun, Two four AIM-120c Advanced Medium-Range air-to-surface Missiles
Crew: One
Protection: Chobham-type armor on glaois and turret amd armored bulkheads between turret and engine. Depleted uranium armor in production. Automatic fire detection and suppression. Chemical(NBC) protection. G/VDR-1A radiological warning device.
It's interesting to me that they chose to use real world military tech, but got two things wrong in the weapons department alone. The M-32A1 is a grenade launcher, and the AIM-120C is a medium-range air-to-*air* missile.
I have no knowledge of weapons nor have I ever analyzed this thing, but this is pretty cool tbh lol
I noticed two days ago you can actually read the info much better on the HD version, which is pretty cool.
I like how the stage background are often just stock photos
I only played the demo all the way back on 2016 but this still gives me nostalgia even tho i was fucking 17 years old aka a grow old ass, the music on the first stage is so satisfying
YO HOLY SHIT I FOUND IT ONE OF MY OLD CHILDHOOD GAMES I WANTED TO PLAY AGAIN
It do be a great game :)
i know this is 4 years to late...but this dude out ran the truck my childhood is just shook to its very core
TAS dude is very good at every game its crazy
One of the best opening levels in gaming, this had me hooked as a kid

I love how Sonic gets the fifth hit on the golem, while the golem is breaking down, he runs around the back and homing attacks to hit him a sixth time... and then on the win screen, Sonic basically says 'Nope, not good enough', says fuck you to the win screen and gets a seventh hit during the win jingle after doing a victory lap of the arena.
This was actually a motivator for me to make this TAS. It's just a cool trick.
