Thanks for another awesome vid, Gunny. I have recently stripped, cleaned and repaired a few guns for a mate.... 3x SRi Pro smart, an Iwata LPH80, a GTi pro and an Iwata WS-400 base - all literally full strip-downs with a few new parts & seals etc, all of them were in an absolutely shocking state before I got my hands on them!! I found it very satisfying to take them from looking like they'd been left on a scrap heap to gleaming. Every last one in perfect working order and looking almost new now 😊
Some good advice there Gunny, this is exactly what I do to all my guns I don't use my ProLite as much as I used to as I have to many guns these days, I got my ProLite and Pro around 4 years ago and they are both still going strong and the seals are still original👌👍John UK
G'day Mr Gunman, I have the Devilbiss GTI PRO Lite spray gun. (gold) Now im only a part time painter so my gun gets put into Hibernation. Well when i went to use my gun it was leaking air. After speaking to SGD they said for long periods of not in use add some light oil to the centre section. I had to replace the centre section at a cost of $150.
Excellent breakdown and cleaning. There's a little jewelry try you can get that off hold all of your components and you can just set it down into the chemical and then pull it out when you're ready and then dip everything into distilled water solution or alcohol and dry it off.
Hi Guny, thank you for the detailed video! My question is for the waste of chemicals after you cleaned your gun. You use thinners and solvent and at the end there is some hundreds of mL used waste. What do you do with it? I mean, the company you are working at, will take care about them and not is your businnes, but when you are at home and you have the waste , how you proceed? Do you collect them and bring to a local company who collect them or maybe burning away (might be not environmental friendly)? These are not healthy stuffs for sure...
Hey Gunny. I am not a painter but I bought a spray paint from England which came with a water filter connected to the gun. It is a LVLP gun and I am wondering as you always have a pressure gauge on the gun, do I need to put oneone above or below the gun? There is also a water filter on my compressor. Thanks for any advice you can give. I have learnt heaps from watching your videos.
Gunny, what about putting a bit of lubricant (Vaseline is a popular brand here in Canada) on the needle where it goes through the packing nut and the nozzle threads where they contact the gun body?
Do you know by any chance weather or not it will remove gelcoat could be good for my gelcoat gun or just stick to acetone. Thanks for the feedback in advance
I herd to run acetone or laquer thinner through gun i did that first couple of sprays and it wasnt spraying right so took it apart it had paint all gunked up in it
Hey man, I've got the gti pro lite gun and mine did this from being stored fir a long period. I contacted SGD and they said I need to reply the centre section. They said when storing for long periods use some light oil. Air valve kit Pro471 It's about $150

Currently storing yes, and when it gets to a large amount I can get it disposed of at a depot.

How much better is this cleaner than acetone. Might have to look in to it
Please make a Video how do you clean this gun with waterbase coat
Another great informative episode, when are the pro lite gunman special edition spray guns going to be up for sale ?
I hope one day but I am definitely not holding my breath.

Same story bro. Ran A LOT of thinner through, it came out perfectly white, yet nozzle had tons of paint gunk after disassembly
Do you always leave a little thinners in your guns after using them?
I do, like to keep them wet
Does that product damage the needle packing?
Hasn't done so far to me. But like I say use it fast, don't soak for prolonged periods
Ive got gti pro lites and 2 off them are backpressuring the air into the fluid, any idea what exact seal it is?
6:15 was the problem what I mentioned?

any recommendations for a cleaner in America? unfortunately, they banned the good stuff here
If it's banned I guess just normal thinner is all you can do

I just use Thinner
