    Tools/materials needed -
    8mm ratchet
    10mm socket
    13mm socket
    Socket extension
    Socket wrench
    Pick/flathead screwdriver - amzn.to/3W8Td7y
    Brake fluid - amzn.to/3HoHaio
    Small hose (preferably clear) and container for old brake fluid/bleeding - amzn.to/3UM0IQM
    Turkey baster/fluid transfer pump if you overfill brake fluid - amzn.to/3hdSoM5
    Part # taken from car - 1K1721480B
    This should be applicable to turbo cars. The 2.0T GTI and R, and the TDI.
    Part # from a 2.5l car - 1K1721465BB
    The USP or ECS stainless clutch line should be applicable for these cars, but I couldn’t find a 5spd bleeder block.
    There is a large variety of part #’s for these cars, that I’ll list below. Please verify fitment with the manufacturer if you’re unsure!
    1K1721465AF, 1K1721465Q, 1K1721465AQ, 1K1721465AM, 1K1721465AD, 1K1721465AK, 1K1721465BN, 1K1721465BP, 1K1721465AJ, 1K1721465BR, 1K1721465B, 1K1721465AE, 1K1721465AP, 1K1721465AH, 1K1721465AN, 1K1721465BQ, 1K1721480B, 1K172148BB.
    While the “clutch delay valve” or “clutch fluid restrictions” in Volkswagen’s cars may be well intentioned, it is probably less than ideal for enthusiasts. In this video, I show how to alleviate the “phoning it in” clutch pedal components to give you a much more direct, 1:1, mechanical clutch pedal feel. I can’t believe I hadn’t done this upgrade years ago.

    Just did this install on my 2014 GLI. Only thing I will note is that I replaced the o-rings that came with the line with EPDM orings.
    If you google "usp clutch line o ring" you find reports of the stock o-rings failing and it could leave you stranded

      Pinning this to increase visibility! Do you have dimensions or a part number for the o-rings you got?

    Great video! I replaced the stock bleeder block on my CC with an ECS bleeder block. Completely changed the way my clutch engaged, but I didn't know about the clutch line upgrade. I'm really surprised this isn't talked about more.

      How's it been so far? Thinking about doing it on my CC 6-speed as well

      It's been great, I've had it for a couple of years now. My CC is stock with a stock clutch and it's still worth it.@@samabbad5112

    Awesome video!
    While I don't have a manual (Mk 7 1.8 auto), this was a wonderfully informative video. Your presentation was great, very succinct, and explained very clearly.

    I don’t mind it, it makes the clutch a lot more forgiving and smoother to use. This is my first manual and I feel like this made it a breeze to learn

      Definitely more forgiving with the stock setup!

    Nice TDI grill

      Thanks! It's a "GTD" style grill with a Chinese TDI badge. It might have been from wish, but I believe I've seen them on eBay too.

    Hi, great video - im about to take out the restrictor on my stock bleeder block, will i lose any fluid and get air in the system by removing the bleeder block to do so or is it only when you pump the pedal?

      @@humanbean899 I'm not sure, to be safe, plan to bleed the system.

    Does this help with the annoying 'Rev-Hang' VW has given us with drive-by-wire?

      @eurodriven2507  17 วันที่ผ่านมา

      It does not, you'll still need a tune for that unfortunately.

    Good vid. Watched several on this subject but still don't know exactly what the problem is that you're all solving! Can you/anybody explain what you were experiencing with the stock clutch operation which has led you to need this mod. Thanks.

    • @eurodriven2507
      @eurodriven2507  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      The stock clutch line isn't a 1:1 translation of the clutch pedal input. With all of the built in delays, it makes it harder to stall, but also more difficult to rev match, launch, etc. It basically forces the clutch to slip.

      @@eurodriven2507 Thanks for the quick reply, much appreciated. Can you describe how that actually feels to the driver?
      After 3yrs with my Audi A3, it often still feels like I've forgotten how to get the clutch/accelerator pedal balance right [after decades of driving!] and I'm wondering if this "delay" is the cause. Just fitted a new clutch, etc. and it's exactly the same. I've never experienced anything like this on any other car, incl. other dmf cars. This is my first VAG car though.

    • @eurodriven2507
      @eurodriven2507  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      The delay is almost definitely the cause. It's difficult to explain the difference without a side-by-side. If you've ever driven a car with a cable clutch, it makes it feel more like that. My confidence in my clutching ability and the smoothness of my driving (which should help the transmission lifespan) has improved greatly since doing this mod.

      @@eurodriven2507 Yes, the more I research this, the more I think this is the problem.

    Hey purchased the kit, i have a 2012 gti but the spullen block being squared did not fit. Any ideas ?

    • @eurodriven2507
      @eurodriven2507  9 หลายเดือนก่อน

      Is there a clearance issue fitting it up besides the transmission? Pics would be helpful, but ofc we're stuck on TH-cam. I suppose you could upload a video and I can try to help?

    Excellent video.
    I just installed the same kit and was wondering if the block can be gravity bled?

    • @eurodriven2507
      @eurodriven2507  ปีที่แล้ว

      Thanks! As for gravity bleeding...I'm not sure, but to be safe, I would bleed it the same way I showed. A power bleeder isn't required, but a failed slave from air getting in would suck. That's a whole transmission drop and you'd want to do clutch+flywheel while you're in there.

    • @peternedilsky9851
      @peternedilsky9851 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      I appreciate the reply. The block and line were the last mods, on top of my clutch and flywheel upgrade. I was just curious about the bleeding method.
      Thank Again.

      I have a 2017 VW Jetta S 1.4L turbo - EA211 with the 5M non- auto transmission. Does this vw have a clutch delay valve?
