      Hey Alirod
      Nice informative video
      I am mother of two kids aged 19 year and 13.
      I have enjoyed great period cycles all my life
      Now I am 45
      Had heavy and prolonged periods currently I am give Novelon tab for 3 months
      My AMH is 0.94
      And before D and C last month I was diagnosed with adenomyosis.
      Do u think miriena is best option for me or hysectomy only option if heavy periods persist after 3 months when I will discontinue oral novelon
      Please guide

    I have the Mirena - got it placed May 2023. I still bleed every month, but I’m a suuuuuper heavy bleeder so I think this is expected. Haven’t gotten pregnant, no infections, mild cramping with bleeds. I’ve never birthed and had only mild discomfort with the insertion. Honestly to me the insertion just felt like one of those uterine cramps where your body is trying to get out a clot. But I did take 800mg of Advil before 😊

      @@leratojames6523 I don’t know how to compare how it feels when it’s inserted. it almost feels like a really hard, breathtaking punch to the inside of your body (uterus). my legs went numb for a couple of seconds and i started blacking out for a couple seconds. the “punch” feeling only last for a few seconds, but for me, there was an after shock of pain that stayed in my lower stomach for maybe 10 minutes. this pain was not as bad as the insertion pain tho. i was lightheaded for around 45 minutes afterward. the rest of the day i had really bad cramps on and off

    IUD did not suit me. My body immediately tried to expel it, as it's a foreign body. It was unsuccessful in doing so. The immune response left me with lichen planus. The iud also became misplaced, causing episodes of pain. I also got pregnant twice and miscarried with it. I deeply regret having one. Your video doesn't mention any complications. Bottom line, it suits some but certainly not all

So 2 weeks later it had shifted they removed and said it was no big deal and said that we should try again so on the second I got my 2nd iud inserted. It’s currently the 9th so a week later and my strings are longer than they were a week ago by a good amount and im in pain. So now they want to see me to check it on Tuesday but im like 90% positive it’s moved again. Idk what im gonna do cause im not trying again. So im running out of effective birthcontrol options

    I really enjoyed your videos!! I had a Meurina IUD inserted 4 years ago. It was very painful! I flew off the table and almost passed out. I was dizzy afterwards and in tears. The pain persisted for 3 days. I went back to my family doctor who felt that my uterus may have been perforated and sent me for an emergency ultrasound which was negative. I did not need it for birth control as I a tubal 27 years ago. I was bleeding very heavily, and the lining of my uterus was very thick. I did not want it. My family doctor advised that it would prevent me from needing a hysterectomy. That was the deciding factor for me. I watched your other video on insertion and removal as I am already panicking about the removal b/c of my experience with the insertion. I have a history of sexual assault, and being vulnerable for any gynecological exams is very hard for me. My family doctor had sent me to a gynecologist for the insertion and I really felt dismissed. How do you talk to a doctor (not your regular physician) about things that are hard, and suggestions that would make it easier when the doctor is not open to that?? I would also be interested in a video about why the hormonal IUD's are recommended for different health issues. What is thickening of the lining of the uterus, and why is it a danger? Thank you!

    Why does placing hurt so much for other people and not so much for others? For me it was one of the most painful experiences of my life. And does the hormonal IUD spread the hormone throughout the blood stream or is it confined to the uterus itself?

    • @chelseecooper3974
      @chelseecooper3974 2 ปีที่แล้ว

      I think it just depends on the person and their tolerance and the timeframe in which they get it done. I’ve have 3 insertions so far, my first 2 weren’t that bad- just felt like a cramp if anything, but when I got those done it was either during my period or towards the end. My last and most recent (just this past Wednesday) insertion though was painful. But the difference was this time I got the insertion a few days before the start of my period, I didn’t take a Tylenol two hours prior, and I got a non-hormonal this time.

    My doctor has been trying to PRESSURE me into getting an IUD. I'm not exaggerating, she's not suggesting she's pressuring me.
    I've said no like 5 times now, each time telling them I'm really uncomfortable with it.
    I do have a personal history of trauma and SA but I don't know if that is the reason why it makes me feel so uncomfortable. The thought of it being inside my body makes my skin crawl and makes me physically ill. I don't know why, I've tried to get over it, I just cannot.
    I get extremely heavy bleeding and severe pain. The progesterone pill has helped on and off with the bleeding but never with the pain.
    I'm not a candidate for ablation. I asked for a partial hysterectomy at the same time I get my total Colectomy and she's giving me a hard time about it.

    I have not had a good experience using Mirena IUD. Bleeding daily for weeks at a time, continuing to have severe menstrual like pain, also sharp stabbing pains in pelvic area, top of leg. This is after 1.5 years in. At first I was told to give it time to help your pain level and for the periods to slowly stop. But I 've only have 3 or 4 months that I did not bleed ( just light spotting). I have researched a lot on this form of pain management ( I'm not using it as birth control method.) I am learning that the progestin in the IUD suppresses the secretion of other hormones and works against them instead of helping them work harmoniously together. So if you're looking at it from a pov to help stop painful cycles, I recommend against an IUD and do Bio Identical Hormone Therapy instead and make sure you are monitoring your hormones with lab work to adjust ratios as needed.

      @@deryatosun My ganeac supposedly fitted the IUD to specifically help with fibroids, she told me it would shrink in time et voila 4.5 years later after having it out and a scan, I found out that the fibroids have grown over time and there's a couple more that popped up. They could argue that it slowed the growth down, but ill never know if this is true. The fact is that it didn't work or do what it was meant to do, I then refused to have another one put in place. Wonder if anyone had any success !!

      @@gomesvanessa100 I just got an IUD inserted to treat fibroids as well, but my doctor said that it won't make the fibroids shrink or prevent them from growing. The goal is to reduce the heavy bleeding which is causing my anemia.

      @@pattyhab596i was just prescribed one for heavy painful periods and fibroids as well. I'm unsure about doing it. • @pattyhab596
      @pattyhab596 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      @DebRoo11 Hi, so I got mine on July 26 so it's been 3 months. Since I got it, I've only had one period with normal flow, but I have been spotting almost everyday since getting the IUD. I had a two week break where I had no spotting at all and I was so happy thinking that that was it...that it finally worked, but started spotting again until today. The good news is that I haven't had a full blown period or any heavy bleeding at all and cramps are more mild. My doctor was spot on when she told me what I should expect after insertion, so I was not surprised from all the spotting. She said that it will take 3 to 6 months for my body to get use to the IUD and that periods will be irregular and sometimes heavier, but will get better and better as time goes by and to be honest I think it is getting better.
      As far as the emotional side of things. I also have had problems with anxiety and depression. In fact, I've been suffering from this for 16 years. I take meds to keep it under control, but I was off my meds around the time I got the IUD. Ever since, I have had several bouts of depression and severe anxiety, but I can't say for certain that they were caused by the IUD because it was a problem for me before anyway. I have been on my meds for the last two weeks and I am more normal and can cope better with stress. So I think that if one stays with their meds while having the IUD would be a good idea. I'm going to wait for the six months and see if the spotting stops. It's very annoying and I am worried about my anemia so we'll see. I will write here again to give an update.

    Hey! Can you maybe make a video of how effects women with PCOS and amenorrhea? My gyno doesn’t listen to me and it’s really frustrating when she just keeps prescribing me different BC that make my symptoms worse. I had cramps 24/7 for the whole month until I eventually ditched the BC and stopped going to my gyno because I started to feel hopeless. I’m 19 and I haven’t been getting my period for almost two years now. I just found out about the IUD and it’s crazy how my gyno never even mentioned it. Would the IUD help in my case?

      Hi, I'm sorry to hear that your gyno has frustrated you. I'm not a doctor, but I suggest you try to switch gynos until you find someone who listens to you and puts your health first. I've been doing research on IUDs and I believe a hormonal IUD may help women with PCOS. I have symptoms of PCOS and I'm in the process of finding a gyno to help determine if I have it. Again, I'm not a doctor, but I highly suggest you switch gynos until you find someone who listens to you. Good luck and continue to be your own advocate for your health 🤗

    I was also on a hrt patch to go with the mireena , my patch wasn't absorbing that well, so they put me on ostragel ,i was stopping and bleeding after 6mth of my coil so i went for a scan they found that my coil was misplaced and told me i needed an op to remove it!
    So they topped me up with micronised progesterone orally it didnt agree with me as of my progesterone intolerance 😢
    So i tried a peasarys, they seemed to stop my spotting and i had no side effcts apart from drowsy 😮
    Wen my coil was removed last week , i decided not to reinstall the coil as i was scared it would happen again 😮
    So ibsaid i continue with the peasarys!
    Thinking i would be fine!
    Noone told me i would have the bad aftermath of the mireena CRASH!

      @rhi7788 2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Hi! I’m not a professional but i’ve read up on IUDs quite a lot. Generally IUDs are very safe! There’s a very small risk of infections on insertion but it’s rare and from what i understand it’s not a serious issue if it does happen and you just get antibiotics or something for it.
      They recommend you wait a couple of days after insertion to have sex but you shouldn’t have any pain during intercourse with the IUD
      You can do any exercise with the IUD and it won’t cause it to move! I understand there’s a chance of it moving but that’s usually soon after getting it and would be from your body expelling it, this chance isn’t increased by exercise. If your body expeles it you can try and get it inserted again.
      Again i’m not a professional so check with your doctor but i hope this helped a bit!
