    In this episode, I go over the cost of bringing this 350x back from the grave. Just in time for Halloween I resurrect another old Honda 3 wheeler from beyond the grave.

    Good afternoon guy
    Still trying to get the 200 es to start. I have good spark timing is good just cleaned the carb I can't seem to get fuel from the carb to the engine seems to have compression not sure how much but I'd think enough to at least fire

    • @mrcbuilds
      @mrcbuilds  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Spray some carb cleaner in the throut of the carb just a squirt, try to start it. If it dosent pop, you dont have any compression. Get a compression tester and find out exactly how much you have. You need 90psi minimum.

  • @stevegreen7960
    @stevegreen7960 ปีที่แล้ว +1

    Buddy I'm really confused here now I have spark and no fuel making it from the carb to the engine. But even when I added fuel down the cylinder it has no intention of firing up not even a poof lol

    • @mrcbuilds
      @mrcbuilds  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      I hate to say it but I think you may need to seek some help.
      You need to verify compression with a gauge, not just your finger. Also verify the timing. Is it sparking at TDC or is the timing 180 degree out?
      You need 4 things to make any 4 stroke engine run. Spark, fuel/air, compression and timing. You have 2 of the 4.

    I know this isn't a 350X, but I just got a 1987 250es Big Red but, it was in pieces, and is mostly all there. I got it for a fair price, but now I'm starting to dive deep into the rabbit hole and going deeper. I'm finding out what all is wrong with the engine. it had low compression, 42 dry and with oil 120, not good, suppose to be between 176-190 psi, tore it down and found out that the rings were stuck solid to the piston, I thought i'll just get an oem replacement Shindy piston and ring kit if everything else looks good, well the wrist pin bore on the rod has way to much slop. So in order to fix that, I'm having to split the case and replace the crank and rod assembly. This is turning into a major job, but I'm not to scared LOL! I did learn the hard way not to remove the drive shaft gear head until splitting the case, because when i did, I could hear all the gears fall down inside HA HA! now I'm having to learn how the assembly goes back together, but I'm getting a million dollars worth of experience! After seeing what it's going to cost to have it back up and running close to what it once was, I think It's going to be worth it in the end. Besides, I really haven't seen to many 1987 Models out there. I really like your video on changing out the clutch discs, that really gave me a first insight on what to look for on wore out clutches.

    Very nice job. As the person who invented ADD, in the 60's before it was a "thing", when you received punishment and not compassion. My understanding of most of the parts isn't too bad, electrical is out, and remembering details goes out the window as soon as I look to find the right size wrench. I enjoyed breaking things down to segments so I could keep up pretty well. Thanks for your patience, my projects are much more modest but challenge and reward in equal amounts. Yesterday was a blue 1991 Honda fourtrax 300 4wd with a full set of Mud Lites and ready for the winter. I've got another Honda 4wd on the back of my truck and I'm excited about that one also. Up to 13 machines right now but I'll thin out the herd pretty soon and keep my eyes open and my ear to the railroad track for future projects. One never knows what will turn up!

    Hey. My grandpa owns a Honda Big Red 250ES 85' and I was never allowed to ride it until recently. Last weekend was my first time on it, and I felt very unsteady turning. I want to try and learn how to ride it, I shred dirtbikes and quads so this isn't my first time handling a machine lol, but the ATC is its own league. Do you recommend I just start out practicing turning and leaning or how should I go about this? Thanks

    • @mrcbuilds
      @mrcbuilds  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Hi, take your time., wear a helmet, the trick to riding a 3 wheeler is to lean into the turn, if you want to go left, lean left. sport machines like the 200x, 350x, 250r turn easier than utility machines their big round tires roll over as the trike turns and the tires bite, don't try to ride a utility machine like a sport machine. Here is how I do it. moving quickly into a turn check the front break ( tap it and release) lean into the turn and slightly forward, this causes the weight to transfer forward and into the turn moving the center of gravity out In front of the foot peg, turn the handle bars slightly and accelerate just a little, this will cause the tires to break loose and slip as you make the turn. as you come out of the turn increase the throttle and continue on. Please take your time turning at speed and climbing vertical hills, is the most dangerous part of riding any atc/atv. Start slow and work your way up faster, if (and you will) go into a turn to fast and you feel the inside tire start to raise, hit the brakes and turn toward the direction of the tire that is not lifting, this will push the lifted tire down and brake hard continue straight and (level) until you can stop and have control of the machine. Good luck, and be careful

    • @uchihaitachi9736
      @uchihaitachi9736 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      @@mrcbuilds ah I see, kind of like a snowmobile but a little more complicated and will probably take me a lot more time to master. I wish the atc we have is a sport one, but unfortunately yeah it’s a utility, my grandpa uses the woodcutter attached to the back and that’s it’s main purpose , so I probably can’t go fast on that

    • @mrcbuilds
      @mrcbuilds  ปีที่แล้ว

    • @uchihaitachi9736
      @uchihaitachi9736 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      @@mrcbuilds haha yes true, I’m used to fast machines but the atc I should take it slow. Hopefully I can take it too the woods one day, very rocky though. My parents don’t want me riding it because my grandpa crashed and hurt himself in a ditch before and another guy broke his ribs on the same atc, so I need to convince them somehow

    • @mrcbuilds
      @mrcbuilds  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      @@uchihaitachi9736 The best way to convince them, is that you show the machine respect and drive it that way, in time they will see you can handle the machine, it is not a toy, but no atv is either (PS I broke my arm on a 4 wheeler) so it does happen to the best of us. thanks for watching

    Question - I noticed you didn't put a cost value on your time. How many hours do you have into bringing this 350X back to life?
