Hehehe, a girafinha é mesmo uma fofurice. A girafa é o animal com quem esta minha amiga mais se identifica. Ela é de família alemã mas nasceu em África onde viveu até aos 18 anos e ela manda-me sempre uma girafinha de cada vez que nos correpondemos 😊🦒🦒🦒

Era sobretudo alívio por ter recebido a encomenda 😅 A verdade é que se não tivéssemos ido ao depósito central dos CTT na Lourinhã, ainda hoje estaria á espera. Os CTT andam a funcionar muito mal. E a minha amiga pagou quase 20 euros para vir por correio Expresso. Já não é a primeira vez que acontece e da primeira vez até acabou em prejuízo porque foi uma oferta de muitas suculentas enviadas de França que nunca me entregaram em casa, nem sequer deixaram notificação na caixa do correio para ir buscar. Assim, eu só muito mais tarde soube que a encomenda foi devolvida ao remetente com a desculpa que não estava ninguém em casa. Na altura eu não entendi o que tinha acontecido 😔😕

Hi Denise, thank you so much. I hope I can grow these cuttings well. You noticed, Iris has, indeed, very powerful feet. If she grows to the same size as my previous german shepherds, she will be a big girl. I like it 😊 They are big but loving and gentle. Another thing I like about this breed is they are fast learners, always ready to play and learn new things but also they are calm and stay quiet if we want them too. We just need to be firm and show them who's in charge. Have a great rest of the week my friend 💖💐🌷🥰

Muito obrigada amiga Josefina. Tem dado muito trabalho, a minha Íris, porque ainda é bebê e tem ainda tanto para aprender mas ela é uma doçura. Chego ao fim do dia exausta por andar sempre com o olho nela. Agora já não morde as plantas tanto como fazia mas gosta de mastigar as pedrinhas dos vasos e folhas secas do pessegueiro. Ela adora andar na relva mas evito porque ela a come como se fosse um carneirinho 😅 Mas ao mesmo tempo, os momentos que passo com ela são muito gratificantes. Beijinhos e boa noite 😘😘😘

This is the difficult times of growing new teeth and there are many temptations all around her. Thank you so much for commenting my dear Beverly. I hope these cuttings will do well under my care. Although they look ok, only time will tell nothing rotted. They were too long in wet moss. When Nina sent them we both expected delievery in 3 days. On the other hand if the moss had been dry, the roots wood have dehydrated for sure. But I am optimistical about it. Hi Annavoeg 🙏 thank you for commenting 💐 It is going to be exciting growing this new genus and see these cuttings grow. Iris is a sweet thing but then all GS are. At least the ones we've had so far. Still, at this stage, I feel exhausted because I have to keep her under surveillance at all times. She stopped eating my plants from the pots but she grabs and chews every falling leaf and the stones topping my pots. I don't recall having had same worries with previous dogs, maybe because when they came we had an older dog to teach them 😄 But every moment with her is precious and very enjoyable 🥰🥰🥰🥰

I will have to make a short especially from Cousin Itt, to send you a message 😅 as mentioned in my email, I am so glad that they made it without any issues. It is so disappointing that they took so long. It takes the anticipation of orchids and the joy it brings, away. Instead of looking forward with excitement, we are left to look forward with concern and only afterwards can we relax. It's not right. My post office always says that Portugal and Spain are considered the same country when it comes to shipping, so it is in fact a 'national' package... 😔 BUT, all went well, and the video was so sweet, I truly appreciate your time 🫶🏼🙏🏼the shout out and the care you took with Baby Itts. If you ever want to give one away, do not feel obliged to keep them both. 👍🏼I thought I might as well get you started with more so that it doesn't look so scrawny in the pot. But, it you can treat someone else and make them happy, then please do 🫶🏼hope you had a wonderful day ❤ I watched yesterday but did not comment because it appears that comments written on a computer stick, and those on mobile are a bit iffy. ❤🌸

I should've asked your permission but I decided at last moment and optimistically I hoped you did not mind ☺️ At last moment I thought it was important to show cousin itt and what I was talking about.
About the portuguese Post Office, everytime I am expecting a delievery I feel very ansious, they are very ineficcient especially since they became private. Packages always take longer than they should. I am so glad the cuttings are ok and I have to thank you also for sending this many. I am keeping all of them. At first I thought I could pot one bundle and mount the other. But then, together in the same pot would make a larger plant and would save space. We shall see, when spring returns 🥰 Thank you for being so generous, I love them 😘😘😘😘😘

I received a Maxillaria variabilis from Petals Sepals and Spines and it's such a cute plant! It grew so much already but it's the more compact variety

😄 She does !!!! Her ears look like satellite dishes, don't they? I suppose they are fully grown while her head still has to grow more. At this stage she is growing one bit her, another bit there and very fast. She is so clumsy because of growing so fast. Her feet are huge already, too 😅😘🥰
Fast growers, heavy drinkers, mass bloomers 😁I have one in a pot (a yellow one) and two on a mount (Tenuifolia red and a Tenuifolia brown-ish) The yellow one hasn't got the coconut smell like the Tenuifolia but more a spicy scent.
Thank you so much, Ynse. As it happens I am not very fond of coconut smell and so I am glad it has a different scent from tenuifolia. Maxillariad are really cute looking orchids, though 🥰🥰
@@FernandaNascimentoOrchids Not a fan of coconut either 😁I once had a Maxilaria Picta, it dwarfs the other Maxilaria's, it's gigantic. Still looking for a replacment
P.S.: prepare for Baby Itt to bloom! There is a spike cluster forming, if not 2 on both pieces. Not sure, but I know I saw one 💯

I have a Maxillaria cucullata and that seems to grow across the medium so is easy to deal with. The variabilis is a real climber and I’m not sure how to maintain an orchid that grows like that.
Hi Keith, thank you so much. Yes, I have noticed variabilis is much of a climber and I still have not understood how Ninja orchids managed to grow hers with a ball shape. I guess I will have to understand for myself as time goes by 🤗😅
@@FernandaNascimentoOrchids I’m thinking of buying more Maxillarias. The cucullata was my first and bought as much as an experiment as anyth8ng but it has done extremely well on an upstairs windowsill. It flowered on five pseudobulbs this time and I’m thrilled to see at least one new growth pushing out from them now the flowers have finished. If I manage to do as well again it will be glorious next year. Which one to try next, though? I have always fancied tenuifolia but that is a *real* climber. I’ll keep my eyes open and see what turns up, I think.
@@Rockdoc2174 As years of orchid growing go by, we realize what orchids do best for us and that is absolutely amazing 🥰🥰🥰 The funny thing is that sometimes they were not even our favourite at the start of our journey 😅
