Honestly I think arcades are super cool! I've always wanted to visit a real arcade with actual games, not any of these new ones you see with all this garbage claw machine, gambling for kids stuff. For me, I just really wish many of these got second chances on home consoles one day. There are hundreds of arcade games that were stranded on these old, VERY expensive machines and I think that's so unfortunate. Lots of these I'd love to play, or play again in the comfort of my home such as Daytona USA 2, House of the Dead: Scarlet Dawn, or F-Zero AX! Even the Mario Kart GP games would be interesting to play, for their inclusion of Pac-Man and Tamagochi in the roster. The sad part is that most of these games will likely never see a chance at the home console scene :(

I still remember my first F-Zero AXperience in Las Vegas during my Birthday at the Circus Circus arcade. It was absolutely amazing and the longtime fan of Nintendo's fastest, most punishing racing IP, when i first laid eyes on it, it was like a magnet that immediately pulled me toward it and nobody else was on it at the time, so i was pretty good to go. I'll never forget this one arcade employee who will go down as an absolute Legend in my eyes, cuz after i had explained to him that it was my Birthday, he actually opened the cabinet, and gave me free unlimited plays on the machine as Birthday gift to me. He absolutely set me up in the best way possible and i will always cherish that memory.
For what it's worth, if you ever want to try it again, there is a deluxe cabinet of the game in the Adventure Dome area of the Circus Circus casino in Vegas which is much closer to Cali. The memory card slot unfortunately doesn't work but it is still quite a cool cabinet.
I've been hearing about the Circus Circus one in Vegas and it's definitely closer to LA which wouldn't be a bad idea. Its nice to know that's not relatively too far, so I might consider that! It might be a US machine
Using memory cards on arcade machines, like the Neo Geo as well, always made me paranoid that someone watching would try to steal it while I was distracted playing the game.

So there are two units, the Standard and the Deluxe. The Standard looks like a regular arcade driving cabinet with no bells or whistles. What you tried out was Deluxe with the unit rocking back and forth. Even rarer units but amazing nonetheless.
A local Celebration Station used to have the deluxe-model F-ZERO AX cabinet and I remember spending a lot of time on it. The experience is simply unmatched, and I might actually prefer AX’s controls/physics over its GameCube counterpart since it’s more or less based on Sega’s classic racers (e.g. tapping the brakes to drift, as you would in something like Daytona USA or SCUD Race). Unfortunately, that same CS got rid of their AX machine out of the blue one visit. I was crushed, even brought my GameCube memory card up so I could sync my data and unlock stuff.
