I just got back from Europe 2 weeks ago and I really struggled with what clothes to pack. I love the items you took! This video will be so helpful for my next trip!
Oh my God,! I’ve watched so many of these videos no you’ve been the more sensible, informative and practical person I’ve seen. So helpful! I’m from the Caribbean and am clueless with dressing layers or wearing anything other than flip flops. BLESS YOU!
Great info! As an artist/painter who travels to teach workshops, I need a capsule wardrobe collection for those trips!! What a terrific idea!! Love your sense of humor always!! Thank you Jen!!
Hi! I recently found your channel and I love it!!! I am taking a flight to Oslo from Chicago. My first oversees travel! Thank you for your hints and sharing your experience!
What a great video! I'm obsessed with packing and loveeeeee organizing my packing.... clothes, toiletries, suitcases, packing cubes, etc. I spend a ridiculous amount of time planning everything I pack for trips and I love it. Its like a "pre-trip" for me. Great capsule wardrobe for Europe or any trip! Love your new channel! xo
Too bad your Amazon storefront no longer exists. You did provide some excellent ideas for my trip to the UK next year though, so thank you for this video.
I agree with everything except for the footwear. Having terrible foot problems I could care less what I have on my feet as far as style goes. It’s a MUST for me to have comfortable walking shoes regardless of what is acceptable in that particular country otherwise I wouldn’t be able to walk anywhere the next day after enduring painful shoes.
I’ve been watching what people wear in Paris and a lot of them wear sneakers though. I’m a nurse, always on my feet and I’m wearing my black Hokas to France. I also got a Sketchers boot that’s so comfy and stylish. I need to protect my feet and I need to be comfy. Form before fashion.
All of the items you packed were so simple and classic. My kind of style. :) I do have to admit I am an over packer - I always feel like I need something else. The what-ifs always get me. I will agree if anybody hasn't used Stitch Fix give it a try I have gotten many work appropriate and casual pieces that I wear every day.
Aren't they the best?? Just got a fix yesterday for my upcoming CA trip and was so happy with everything they sent! And the time they save me is ridiculous.
@@JoyfulLivingwithJenLefforge I am trying to embrace my natural hair. I live in KS and the humidity is an issue. The positive side...it takes less time to get ready.
Jen you made excellent suggestions. My first trip to Ireland I bought nice clothes & didn’t wear them. It is very casual there. Your absolutely right...you don’t want to stand out. “Old lady pants” 😂. I don’t know why that was funny to me as I have them too. LOL! So comfy!!!
You should look into the karigar cape. Great for travel. Designed in the Netherlands so it is European but made by local artisans in India. I love mine, it’s so comfy.
I about fell on the floor - I did jump up because as you talked about stuff matching, I said “like Garanimals” and then you said it 👏🏻👏🏻 my husband laughed at me and said “I have no idea what either of you are taking about” 🤣
Loved this video! Thanks for the tips. I will come back to this for our next trip - even if its just to DC or NYC for a few days. I need to be a smarter packer since we will be taking the train and I can't bring a huge bag! Thanks as always!
Okay, I need to create a "capsule wardrobe" to have ready to go on an adventure...LOVE that. How many wardrobe collections do you have? A runDisney collection? A Disney vacation wardrobe? A Beach vacation wardrobe? I need to see them all especially if they can fit in a carryon!! Question, who took your photos when you were away (besides your selfies)? Do you feel safe asking someone when you're abroad and alone?
So a couple of those were from my trip with Wil to London but most were selfies. And so, yes, I am this big of a nerd: I have a Disney capsule wardrobe and a beach one. But it works! Makes packing a lot easier. And then when I get back from a trip and something is due to be replaced, I do it then instead of waiting for the stress of when I'm getting ready to go.
Good explanations for each item so one can apply it to ones wardrobe/trip/occasions. You mentioned wear in different ways, have you tried anything from Encircled or Diane Kroe?
I have not but I will definitely check them out!! Always looking for new classic pieces that are good quality! I would rather have 5 great pieces than 25 that are throw away, you know?? (better for the environment that way, too!)
I enjoyed this and a thought occured when you mentioned running shoes. Do you think you could do a video on running safety when traveling to a new place?
3 Pairs of shoes, multiple coats, wool scarf not sure how you fit all into a 21inch suitcase? All my pants, skorts, and shorts are Columbia with elastic waist. For the plane I wear one sweater and long sleeve, 1 pair pants. I bring 4-5 short sleeve shirts, 1 little thin coverup jacket (to cover fat arms), 1 pair of pants , 2 skorts, 2 long shorts and 1 pair of SAS Tour Mesh blue denim color shoes (my only pair of shoes).
Ahhh Jen, could you teach my wife to pack please :). She doesn’t like to “do without”. We did a long weekend to Melbourne with just carry ons and I think I got about 4kg of the 14kg including my CPAP machine........ Oh well, love her dearly and love this new channel. I’ll follow your adventures with interest. Maybe a future adventure will be a trip to Australia . . . . . . .
Steve, I used to be your wife so there is hope but she will need to come to it on her own! Hopefully earlier than I did LOL! And yes, would LOVE to come to Australia. I'll keep you posted! Thanks for following me over here. Means the word to me.
I love your tips and videos! #1-old lady pants? who are those made by? #2 Black Dress? same question. Also I went to your amazon link, says your account is not active? Thanks, Diane
Hey, Jen! Catching up on the new channel. Love it! Grown up Granimals! Yes! And why do they not still make Granimals?! Why did were they never made for grown men!?!? :) Draper James! Such a cute brand! And I love the JJill travel essential pieces. Have you ever worn any of the Travelsmith items? I have been considering investing in a couple of theirs. Okay, back to watching! Take care!
I watched SO MANY TH-cam videos, Judith! And once I felt like I had a general idea, I worked with some great stylists both through Stitch Fix and also at J Jill. Definitely recommend working with someone if you're fashion challenged like I am!!
Full of stereotyping ....Of course people wear running shoes in Europe ... i live in London and i am in the minority not liking them but that is my personal taste.... again yes people do wear distressed jeans in Europe too and the striped tops scream tourist as that is what the stereotype is for French people!
@@JoyfulLivingwithJenLefforge I didn't say that i didn't enjoy it!! i clearly watched it all and the trouble is i DID enjoy the concept, i liked the clothes you chose had you not added your own stereotypes of what you think we are like in Europe .. imagine me making a video and saying what i have heard people wear in America, it didn't need to be said and that is what got to me ...You could have easily said all the other good and interesting things you said about the individual garments and the outfits, also you are right it is best and safer to blend in ,but when the video goes out to the countries you are speaking about and it isn't true then surely it is best to listen, remember when you go to central London or Paris etc the VAST majority of the people you see are tourists not locals... the age of the video didn't matter either... I thought you look fabulous and your editing was good so me asking you not to stereotype isn't much to ask as it should be something a well brought up and educated woman like yourself should be avoiding in your day to day life full stop ... why not ask me but other than that did you enjoy my video ?? but sadly you assumed again which is not something i would expect.

Watching in 2021.... chuckling at the 70's references and Garanimals.....
Thanks for sharing! Tips still relevant today.
❤️The garanimals packing is the way to go! I do it for myself and my kids. Loved the video ✌🏼
I mean, who has time to think about putting together an outfit on vacation?? We want to GET OUT THERE! Thanks for watching, Christina!
Great info! As an artist/painter who travels to teach workshops, I need a capsule wardrobe collection for those trips!! What a terrific idea!! Love your sense of humor always!! Thank you Jen!!
You are most welcome and honestly, Lisa, it has so cut down on my stress before a trip.

Anne Marie, we speak the same language. Also, too, clearly, obsessed!! Thanks for coming over here and for your kind comment!!
I listened again and heard your reference to JJill for the old lady pants!
Good one.
Wish you had shown more photos of how you styled your outfits though.
Too bad your Amazon storefront no longer exists. You did provide some excellent ideas for my trip to the UK next year though, so thank you for this video.

Sorry if I didn't say this, but all the shoes I took were incredibly comfortable - as a runner that's super important to me as well!!

I have been teetering about Stitch Fox but I think I need to take the plunge!
Re watched this one. Enjoyed it again!
Totally agree with the blending in ting, as a solo traveller. Twice I have been asked for directions by tourists who presume I'm a local!
Happened to me in Paris! And then I spoke and they were like oh, never mind.🤣🤣🤣
Yahoo!!! I’ll add more as I watch
FIRST! LOL! Thanks, Dawn.
Thanks for the tips. Going to Southern Italy next year and this is super handy. Will be watching for upcoming videos with more tips and tricks.
Perfect, Terri! One of the next ones will be all about surviving long haul flights in coach!
Please give more info about black dress which looks like “must have” ! Thanks.
Such helpful information! AND you are so funny! Laughed out loud at the Jennifer Anniston reference! Thank you!
Well, you know, all the fashionable 40 somethings and all that . . .😂😍
Great information and guidance for us women to be the captain of our own voyages. I’m loving the content of your new channel.
I'm so glad, Denise!! Thank you!
I like this!
Loved your videos on what to pack for europe! Your tips are super..thank you so much
I'm so glad I could be of help, Sonya!
Outstanding tips🎉
I'm doing to Disney in December that packable coat was a great idea.
Yeah it’s perfect for winter in FL because you just never know,
I love your entire choice of wardrobe for your travel. I would appreciate if you give more specific info how to get them. Thanks 🙏
The only way I could pack this like is with a video like this guiding me hahha thanks
Thank you for your tips 😄
Great ideas! Jen, I love your new hairstyle.
Thanks, Nancy! These are my natural curls and it’s just too humid for a blow dryer and flat iron!

Right?? There’s a product I absolutely love called Bamboo Beach Summer Waves and it’s been a game changer!
Would you please do a video on how you packed all this?
This video is several years old but I have loads of packing videos on my channel!
Love videos like this.
So blessed that you were able to travel for a year to find yourself and be able to be at peace knowing your bills would be paid.🙂
Totally agree!! I worked for 25 years and am very proud of what I was able to accomplish!
No running shoes in an European museum, got it! Thanks for that tip, I would’ve never thought about that!
Well, I mean, of course you CAN but if your goal is to not look like a tourist maybe less so;).

No one better ever try to take away my old lady pants. They give me life.🤣🤣🤣
Love your vlog, Jen. Thank you for being real and relatable. Great job!
Chipotle burrito 🤣🤣🤣 I love that khaki/green jacket. Garanimals packing is brilliant. Fantastic job, Jen!
Thanks, Dawn! It was a lot of fun to film (even if it did take 3 takes because of barking dogs!)
Love this, Jen! :)
OK this is extremely timely bc I'm going on my first trip to Europe in the next few months and I have NO IDEA what to pack!!!
Black. Pack lots of black. And wear boots. DONE. LOL! And btw, how exciting!!
You should look into the karigar cape. Great for travel. Designed in the Netherlands so it is European but made by local artisans in India. I love mine, it’s so comfy.
Checking it out right now! I'm always looking for my next favorite piece to travel with. Thanks, Emilie!
Super useful video, love it!
Loved all choices and all the safety tips that go along with the outfits ❤️
I love the packing videos😀
Well then you'll love the new channel!! Lots of that ahead, Freddie. Thank you!
Such great suggestions! Now I want to plan a trip to Europe!
Do it, Corrie!! Thanks for finding me over here!!
Love this new channel and all the content overall you produce. Thank you Jen!!
"Buffet pants" - too funny!!!
