I use a small belt bag as my “cabin bag” and I ban hang it around the tray table and can fold it up and still access all my necessities. 😊

Thank you for the wonderful review! I wasn't sure what you meant at first by "bag with a big mouth" but after you demonstrated it, I fell in love! I usually take a backpack on planes with me and whenever I need something I have to dig and dig and take things out and it is just frustrating. This bag looks like it might be my dream bag for flights!

Thanks Jen! It is refreshing to see a non-sponsored review for Away. I have seen a zillion sponsored reviews on TH-cam. I do see the carryons quite a bit but haven’t pulled the trigger on it. This one looks nice. I have the Lo and Sons bag with the sleeve that doubles as a purse, this one looks bigger.
Yes that’s one of the reasons I wanted to do it!! I think it says a lot that with all the pieces I own this set is what goes with me on every trip now.

Great ideas! I have started carrying small bags for garbage (tissues, wrappers, Clorox wipes) in my cabin bag, especially for long flights. I use the goodie bag from the dentist or even doggie poo bags.

Good luggage and bags are expensive. My wife has spent a ridiculous amount on a number of Tumi pieces. However, good luggage and bags will usually last decades, so you may spend more upfront, but you are not replacing them every couple of years. You mentioned a carpet bag, my wife has a real carpet bag, (the bag is actually made of carpet) which she uses similar to the way you are using this one. Great review video! Have a great trip!

Love your review of this bag as I have been toying with the idea of getting the Away bags after seeing you and BBB with them. Your organization is just like mine with all of the little pouches! If my bag does not have a key strap I take a diaper pin (for cloth diapers) and pin my keys to the inside of my bag. The diaper pin is a bit bigger than a regular safety pin and kinda cute.
That’s such a great (and thrifty!) idea!
Nice review. Though, that bag might be too big for a personal item. Some airlines might not accept it as a personal item if you have a carry-on bag as well. So my tip would be to check what is allowed on the airlines you regularly fly before buying it =)

Your review may have sold me. I’ve been between Calpak luka (which I fear might be too big for under the seat in some flights) and this one. I often shop on trips and was afraid this would be too small, but it looks like it holds more than my tumi voyager backpack

Jen! I was just about to pull the trigger on a new luggage set, and I've had my eye on the Away brand for some time now (I know, I'm late to the party). lol. Hi, this might be a weird question, but do you think i could use this bag as an everyday bag? I am commuting and basically need to bring my whole life with me including a large water bottle and lunch, so i need a lot of space! Awesome and informative video!

I think I need this Mary Poppins bag in my life. You fit so much inside! On a completely different topic since you mentioned Goodr sunglasses - do they fit well under your running visor/hat? I have been on the hunt for a pair of running sunglasses that fit comfortably under my hat.
They do! At least I’ve never noticed that they don’t and I wear a hat on every run🤣😍

Now that you’ve used that bag for a trip, how well does it fit under the seat in front of you? I have an older Lands End “cabin” bag, and it’s just a smidge too tall, so I always have to smoosh it under the seat.
It slides under perfectly, Gretchen! I've taken it on 3 trips now and it's worked really well.

This is the small one and no the large does not fit under the seat from what I can tell. Great question!
Do you still use the *compact noise cancelling headphones* in this video? If so, what brand are they please. I could not see a link above and your amazon link states its not valid. 😔 Thank you for your help because I am looking for a good compact pair as I will have very limited space for my long-haul trip, especially since my bag gets overrun by kid stuff. 🤪
