    This reused copy paste nioh ng+/dlc structure simply doesn't work with this game due to various issues and design choices. so i'm just not having fun, the juice is not worth the squeeze. Let me know your thoughts, and 🙏for Ronin/Nioh 3 to be better.

    One of the things that really grind my gears is the lack of combo varieties. Each type of weapons only has a certain type of limited movesets, only 1 to 2 types of fatal strikes, couple with having only TWO martial arts per weapon make them bland weapons for melee builds that barely tickle any bosses.
    And there is no new martial arts for existing weapons. They added 4 new slots for spells and NO new slots for martial arts as well. Correct me if I'm wrong but I can see that the Team Ninja devs want us to only play spell builds. Even then in NG+2 the spells only give limp flamboyant slaps to the bosses.

      This is exactly why I stopped playing after the 2nd area, It just became so apparent to me that this game is too reliant on parrys, where a fight without one took me like 15 mins and when I did the same fight with a parry it took like 3 mins -_-
      They made it seem like this was some amazing hybrid of Nioh and Sekiro, but its just the level design of Nioh(the worst parts of it) and the gameplay of Sekiro, I was hoping for the reverse where youd have this open world like Sekiro, but the gameplay/enemy variety of Nioh 2 which I think would have been better.

    In regards to the "regular attacks do shit damage", it feels like they wanted this game to be their version of Sekiro so badly, but didn't realize the fun of Sekiro's gameplay was breaking the enemy posture. In Wo Long enemy posture gauge is so arbitrary, and there is no rhythm to the fight.

    • @PWARGaming
      @PWARGaming  11 หลายเดือนก่อน +11

      yes. the rhythm isn't there, but also the world locations, story, characters you care about, etc aren't all there either. and magic exist to blow that posture mechanic out half the time. its an in-between nioh and sekiro that doesn't quite appeal to either camp. also sekiro had the 2nd death mechanic. This game doesn't have a back up after you get 2 shot. and sekiro you never had to "build up" your power level to handle an enemy like you do here, I imagine sekiro would be hated a lot more if it had some morale system like function.

    • @planetxaudio1699
      @planetxaudio1699 11 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      Stranger of Paradise did the Sekiro posture break mechanic better than Wo long did. Once you filled up enemy break gage they were dead. If it was a boss it just went into a 2nd phase. In Wo Long even if you get a fatal strike you may have to rinse and repeat depending on the enemy.

  • @Koballin
    @Koballin 11 หลายเดือนก่อน +12

    I'm not sure what their goal was with Wo Long. Everyone was expecting Nioh 3 and instead we got sekiro, which is fine, but then they removed most of the mechanics that made Nioh so fun to play. My favorite part about Nioh was how the combat changed drastically depending on the weapon you had equipped. Every time I learned a new weapon class the game felt brand new again, but in Wo Long the combat doesn't change at all regardless of weapon class. The martial arts should have followed the Nioh 2 skill tree structure to some extent instead of hard locking us to 2 martial arts that we can't even change out. The spell system isn't bad, I like that they don't limit spells to consumable items, but they should be auxiliary tools to assist in our melee combat. Instead, spells are the only way to make progress on a boss's health bar, making melee and martial arts damage obsolete. The morale rank system was a cool idea at first, but like mentioned in the video, it became a massive chore to get max morale. The idea that boss fights are inherently unfair is another slap in the face. I'll be honest, if they don't buff the hell out of melee combat I'm not going to be playing the NG+ cycles. From what I've experimented with, your build is irrelevant to the combat as each weapon plays exactly the same and spell spamming is the only efficient choice of play. I'm also not going to spend countless hours fighting end game bosses melee only if I'm only doing 0.1% of their health bar per melee attack. DLC 1 is certified trash IMO, the levels were generic and lacked any new elements to them while also looking the same as previous levels, the new enemies barely added any variety, and out of 3 bosses, only the hammer guy was a fun fight. The 2nd boss was just lazy design, and Dian wei is just straight up unfair. If Dian wei was at 20 morale from the start, I might have found the challenge fun, but as it stands it took me forever to get through that fight using melee only. There's still a chance Team Ninja can fix this game but given how much focus they are putting on Rise of Ronin, I'm doubtful we will see any improvements in the core gameplay loop.

    • @PWARGaming
      @PWARGaming  11 หลายเดือนก่อน +5

      yes, the flow is pretty repetitive across all the weapons, none of them feel unique. the side effect of buffing weapon dmg (which in turn buffs MA), is that you have a alternative way to play than just parry parry, which puts more power into defining each weapon class more. hammer may be slower, but now it can crush yellow turbans heads in with its charged attacks.
      I think skill swap will be something they do, but the other stuff i can only be pessimistic about based off this dlc. I separate the qol stuff from the dlc, and the dlc content itself was just lackluster all around. nioh 2s tengu dlc was just spot on good all around, like the wiki shows all the content it added, and compare that to this dlc lol: nioh2.wiki.fextralife.com/The+Tengu%27s+Disciple

    It really is baffling, because I went into Nioh 1 + 2 with low expectations, and came out thinking they were among the best games I ever played. They got me to go all the way to NG++++, which is something I never even did in Souls. So someone like me should love Wo Long, right? I do kind of, but man that endgame feels like a game from 10 years before Nioh, not NEWER. You're supposed to grind gear that's barely even better unless you are lucky enough to get the perfect drops to form a set, and even then, only a few sets are that great. I killed the monkey boss in Wo Long NG+ literally 200 times, and only got the gear to put together one single grace set, and it was not one of the good ones. In Nioh you can at least get a basic set together just from farming some graves that have a set you like, or just crafting a lower rarity version of a piece you're missing. Never had an issue putting a set together in Nioh after some effort.

    Yea...I definitely feel what your talking about with mele and martial arts. I feel like I do no damage when I play. It's disappointing to here that it's the same in NG++ with just +10 upgrades The flags really should have been like abyss and underworld in Nioh 1and 2. Get a flag remove a debuff gain a buff. This give players a choice on how they want to play and challenge themselves if they want.

  • @DrFoyer
    @DrFoyer 11 หลายเดือนก่อน +7

    1. MA are focused on spirit damage (that accelerates FS), if u combo with elemental imbue you do panic. The tick of fire debuff is almost 300. Melee in Wo Long is just a more skill-based approch that differs from spamming sorceries from a distance.. 2. Taking all flags now give you additional buffs, but the morale farming is a bit slow, that is true. Probably too hasty a review? In my opinion, the problems are: the lack of complexity of the dlc's main missions, the impossibility of filtering equipment based on graces and/or the possibility of farming specific equipment, the few differences in the gameplay of the third run, which make everything repetitive despite the higher challenge and, finally, the level cap too high compared to the objective difficulty.

    I think you are pretty much on point in this vid PWAR. I was feeling immense burnout like 4 hours into the DLC. I couldn't put my finger on it but yeah I would agree it's because I never felt powerful. I hated the spirit costs of spells so I just focused on MA on weapons and those as you mentioned are so weak you just feel anemic and sickly the further you get into new game cycles. It also struck me that we should feel so weak in close combat in a kung fu game but whatever it was vindicating to see I wasn't the odd man out in that feeling. Think I am done with Wo Long. Well when DLC 1 came out I was Meh on the game (even have a long comment talking about my issues), but I done a 180 on the game after DLC2-3 and overtime it has become a guilty pleasure type of game where I always go back to to try new builds and things like that. Imo it sucks for the release and early months of the game because DLC2 fixed most of the issues I had with the game.
    Its funny because Rise of the Ronin is also getting this early release negative press, yet most of the players are loving the crap out of that game. Thankfully by the time that game comes to PC it will be in the best state it can be in.

    I agree whole heartedly with all the points in your video. I'm so far as too avoid using damaging sorceries, only buffs ones. Even then, I still rips through bosses with ease, I used all the elemental weapon spells, and just stack the elemental debuffs on the enemy one after the other, but I do still need to hit enemies with melee to apply it, so that what keeps me engaged in the gameplay. As far as my recommendation, weapon specific skill tree like nioh would be a nice addition, in order to learn/replace the martials arts you need unlock them in order to get them. But that seem a huge task to implement so I won't hold my breath.

I’m not sure if they updated it since this video but I’m using a sword and my melee damage is really high. But I do agree, +20 or even +15 armor and weapons would be ideal and transferring Martial Art skills would be great also. My biggest issue is there’s no -1 set bonus on accessories or even graces on accessories. To me that’s where they missed the mark. But I’m still going to get the trophies and max out everything in hopes the next DLC is much better. I’m also patiently waiting for a DLC to drop for FF 16.

      You can change the scaling of fist or any weapon now with a 6 star effect that can change the scaling. idk how you get it tho outside of rng, but you would use that to make guding/fist benefit from earth virtue for damage

I encourage it at this point. the dlc just felt like half content additions, and just, well look a that: copying nioh and just adding 1 new difficulty, one new rarity, 1 new weapon, new spirit, etc etc. spells being new is great, too bad you have to farm the content that people are not playing to use them. people say they are being different from nioh, but the content added is not reflecting that, least this dlc. hopefully they add new mechanics and such in the future to differ from nioh more than just the base game.

    Wo Long imo is a game where the devs listened to all the people that complained about the "complexity" of Nioh 1 and 2 and decided to remove every single damn feature that made those games unique and stand out in order to cater to the fans of Sekiro (which way fewer people enjoyed anyway compared to Bloodborne or DS). They completely missed the mark and pretty much decided to keep the only thing people hated about their other games, which was the Diablo-esque gear, yet somehow they considered all those other unique mechanics had to go.
    Personally, I don't really like how they removed all the crazy things you could do with Ninjutsu, consumables, Yokai spirits, and just dumbed it down to man with wepon sometimes uses magik.

    The grind should be made bearable by forcing specific sets to drop ONLY in specific missions(I.E Flying General from a stage where Lu Bu is the final boss etc...). Martial Art REPLACMENT should have been in the from the day the game was in its beta build there is 0 excuses on that front because both Niohs let you swap the weapon skills around when multiple skills were tied to similar inputs so there's no really justifiable reason Wo Long should have been any different.
    The Rank 1-9 and Cold Steels should be buyable with GOLD and NOT ACCOLADES or only be obtainable through the dismantling function because that is an even bigger hindrance than the wrong Marital Art being on a given weapon you are trying to farm in order to make a build you want to experiment with. And the final point that should never have been a problem in either of the 2 Nioh's and or Wo Long IS THE LACK OF ACCESSORY RE-ROLLING sweet mother of christ WHY? It is the single most infuriating thing in the entirety of these 3 games is for the grind for a MANDATORY piece of your build to come out the wrong way or not have a proper skill you crutch far too much because you can't roll it on another piece of your set-up.
    If you're going to lock the "Fun" behind the grind MAKE THE GRIND BERABLE and NOT make it feel like pure suffering. It's not funny for me as a player to go "Oh hey Team Ninja put out Nioh 3" instead of go "YO WO LONG DOES NIOH BUT BETTER" you actively make it hard to either enjoy or play the game when you all but literally make the SAME GAME 3 DIFFERENT TIMES WHILE MAKING IT WORSE EVERY INSTALMENT.
    Short term answer to make this game anywhere near half as fun as other farming games like Diablo or the like is to just NOT make its rng WORSE than its competitors cause that WILL drive your player base away and further deter them from your current game and all future games to be released.

    • @PWARGaming
      @PWARGaming  11 หลายเดือนก่อน +2

      target farming would be nice. graces are honestly not that well designed. if you had those graces tied to normal sets like other sets, all of sudden, people can create builds more reliably. pure rng is not gonna sit well with people, especially if you can't, get this, kill or beat a stage fast to make that farm bearable. but its funny, because they did have semi-target farming for graces, in nioh, with the abyss system.
      The abyss/depth system should have NOT been locked to final dlc, where you have 1+2 chances of people dropping your game before than. ADD the abyss dlc 1, then just expand on it every dlc. but it'll provide power through upgrade levels, target farming for certain floors giving certain graces/sets, and well, scaling challenge that avoids the morale system entirely. had this dlc done that, they would have made the game so much better. but now they'll wait till final dlc, and then they'll probably expect people to have gotten high tiered gear and high character level just to even attempt it. or add something completely new, instead of a new difficulty. a rogue like system, abyss, chalice dungeon type mechanic, something FRESH. at this point throw ideas out and see what sticks instead of being purely safe/lazy and just adding something that doesn't work for this game like it did the other. if the game is doomed to fail than experiment with things to hopefully find something good you can use in future games.

  • @makdonalds

    You are overcapped on the bosses on the first difficulty and then goes downhill cause its supposed to be harder but you can still easily farm mobs to raise your morale.

    What's frustrating is that if they tweaked melee damage and martial arts to be on par with magic and if only defenses would mean something, the game would be great.
    The results are a lack of choice and stuff to do pretty quickly.
    I did manage to get a minus requirement on sets on my fist weapon, I don't know if it's cumulative with the one on accessories since I don't have one. That could open a few triple sets.

      not cumulative, it was possible to roll -1 on armor pieces pre-dlc, even weapons too i think, so wont stack unless it was changed in some update, which I doubt. based off nioh dlc which this seems to be going exactly by, they'll hold off unlocking that stuff for 2nd or 3rd dlc as "content".

    Fully agree.
    You’ve nailed everything I’ve been upset about, but two more things I want to add:
    -Literally no endgame stuff to do. Nioh 2 had nightmare missions and clans.
    -No random expeditions.
    -No Reforge.
    I’ll play the DLCs because I got the season pass, but honestly, I don’t know what will get me to do endgame.
    Maybe adding Reforging in so we can use the new Damage Shift embed to actually make weapons usable in different Virtue builds.
    But dropping the whole combo system that was in Nioh1/2 and SoP was the worst idea ever. I fucking hate how they tried to copy Elden Ring with invasions and Art of War.
    But in their argument, you said this is a king fu game. It’s actually a Xianxia game (cultivation). Hence all the talk about qi, elixirs, immortals, Taoism, meridian channels, divine beasts, etc.. Progressing from one difficulty to another.
    Someone mentioned Xianxia in the subreddit and I’ve been looking into it since Wo Long dropped. The game makes a WHOLE lot more sense now.
    Edit: I’ll also add that Cestus is just not good without the combo system from Nioh 2. It just encapsulated everything that’s wrong with the game: fast and flashy but no depth or soul.

    I played a Ninja and Mage in Nioh 2.

    Yeah I realized this as soon as I got the platinum on the base game all on base difficulty. They have neutered the loot so much in this game there is almost no reason for it to even be in there. Most bonuses are in the 2-5% range on each piece so if you stack it you are at anywhere from 10% to MAYBE 20% on some things that don't even matter. It was fun to play through the one time but nothing about the post game content and now the DLC even appeal to me and this video confirms it. I really hope they bring back the loot and build aspect of Nioh in a future game, I really do.
    And to answer the last question: What would entice me to play Wo Long past base difficulty? Make any given stat be at least triple what their current value is now. For example Melee Attack Damage 5% now should be Melee Attack Damage 15% at a minimum if not 20% or so.

    This game is my first souls-like, I enjoyed boss fights and trying out a few weapons but I have to say, I felt that the levels themselves were kind of boring, I didn't really like regular enemies either as it felt really repetitive and it was just waves of them. I'm used to games like MH, so that may be why I prefered the boss fights with a single target.
    When I finished it the first time and unlocked NG+, I pretty much stopped. I didn't want to do everything over again, with a higher difficulty as it didn't really add anything. The only thing to get out of it was 5 star gear which I could try to get by spamming that mission in chapter 2 with a magic build.
    That magic build definitely helped me play through the DLC easier, but here I am, with a completed game, completed DLC and a blank NG+ and NG+2.
    I think I'll just wait and do the story and sub battlefields of the 2 remaining DLCS in crouching dragon difficulty, and won't touch the NG+ features. It feels like it's a lot of effort for minimal rewards sadly.
    What souls-like would you guys recommend me to play ? I already have Elden Ring and Nioh in my wishlist and also Lords of the Fallen and Lies of P which are upcoming.

      first soulslike? well you got a ton of stuff you could play nioh is ofc closest to this, Elden ring is amazing, no idea of lords, and lies of p seemed pretty good based off the demo. naturally the suggestion would be to play dark souls, unless you already tried that. specifically dark souls 3 since its a bit more modernized than ds1, which can feel a bit clunky. if you got a ps5, there's also demon souls remake too. the world and level designs of those far exceed wo long or nioh.

    My biggest issue so far with the DLC is the Boss design. All the hard bosses in the main game and dlc follow the same tactics for killing them.
    Wait till they try a critical, counter, maybe get 1 or hits in, run away....rinse and repeat.
    We need boss fights that can just be a good old fight, some that reward aggression, some that at least allow reasonable windows of aggression.
    These boss fights are so tedious, and as a result of the tactics you should follow, they take sooooo long to finish.
    Can we also have at least a little bit of follower scaling in the new difficulty levels, or maybe add some weapon/armor skills that can boost follower survivability/damage.

    Kind of unfortunate, i was in a way looking forward to the dlc. I got until the second final mission of ng+ then dropped the game. Its hard to say anything that hasn't already been said, the weapon damage feels too low compared to the power of spells, too much emphasis on fatal strikes. At this point i would be ok if they took a page out of sekiro's book and made it so you have to damage the enemy a decent amount before the stance bar builds up for a finisher. The morale system is just confusion, in the base game getting maxed out on it would make the game too easy but now not getting enough of it makes it really hard, there's too much of a reliance on how it affects your power imo

    I do wonder what Wo Longs end game is. Team Ninja basically added the equivalent of ethereal gear in the 1st DLC . Where do we go from here? Will they add seven and eight star gear next? This would give wo long more tiers of gear than nioh. I have gotten some six star gear and upgraded to +10, but it still isn't as good as 2-3 star stuff I have on that's +9. In Nioh you can fix this by soul matching, but Wo long doesn't have that. I honestly think they should have done away with rarity tiers of gear this time around. Once you became sworn bros with and NPC or farmed a boss/enemy and got their gears that's it. The loot could have focused on the jewel essence. The more you upgrade your gear the better gems you get to slot. The higher you go in difficulty the better gems you get. Merge gems of the same effect to get better stats.

    Other things that piss me off is chests, you kill a whole mob of enemies to get to a chest, then boom, one 2* piece of gear. Not worth it!! I love the game, I like the combat and glad they added more spells. I farmed Hong Jing about 50 times and got both her tomes, it wasn't worth it. One jumpy ice shard attack and the ability to infuse arrows with ice. Its alright, but not worth it.
    Another thing is the whole 5&6* idea. There's no damage increase, just one more stat bonus, considering how valuable and almighty these things are supposed to be, you get one additional stat? That it?
    I'm hoping the DLCs add more, ive bought the season pass so I'm gonna try it, otherwise I'll just be wasting my money. The Nioh games added so much more in their DLCs, so I'm hoping Wo Long do too.
    Happy deflecting!!

      people want a carrot they can chase that's guaranteed, like niohs upgrade system was (or hell, ANY rpgs game is...). the +10 was like the devs broke off the tip of the carrot and thats all we could eat till 3 months from now and yah i knew the spells would be hit or miss too. have to grind them out a bunch and them not be OP or that useful? why bother

      i seriously dont see any problem with just going from +9 to +10 coz this made all of my set from before DLC still useful. Unlike in nioh 1, the gear level gap was so high between each dlc, which makes all the set that i had become completely useless.

    This was the director's first project and it shows. How Team Ninja allowed an amateur to head this, while marketing the game as from the makers of Nioh, is beyond me. Can't trust brands no matter what. And never pay full price for a game because you just never know and gems worth the money are stupidly rare. For me, the greatest sins were not improving the pvp which there were never going to do, and not allowing you to change weapon skills. Looking back, the game was doomed from the start because it was made out of cheap plastic and the gameplay was waaaay too simplistic.

      gems full price are not rare, Elden Ring, Sekiro, Dmc and more, i just buy MH world and oh boy the game is so awesome, the deal here is that TN could have done much more and put a lot more effort with some aspects of the game in my opinion

    • @normalguycap
      @normalguycap 11 หลายเดือนก่อน

      @@lalouwu6371 those are as mainstream as you can get and most of those have big problems. Popularity does not mean quality. Fromsoft games are always B level work at best, not gems. DMC sucks, but devil may cry 3 and 5 are great, 4 is good, but not gems. Monster hunter has always had a huge grind problem even if World is the least invasive about it, it's still there in a big way. Hollow Knight, Shovel Knight, Undertale, Nioh, Star Renegade, Into the Breach are gems. They were not expected to be as great as they were. They play great, sound great, look great, story is great, have depth, and have a quality that elevates them higher than most games. They have it all. Hollow Knight is what ER tried to be for example.

    Drop rates are HOT GARBAGE and im about ready to put Nioh 2 back in. Ive gotten one 6 star item all weekend and a handful of 5 star, outside of rewards for completing ng+2 missions. I did get one of the new spells farming the zhuyan boss in the tale of guiguzi on rising dragon. Plus theres still no forge mechanic so you can only farm for everything, which is too damned grindy and not fun.

      at this point scrap wo long dlc and just make new nioh 2 dlc
      "guys, we decided to return and revive the nioh series with new content!". TN would be absolute giga chads if that happened

    I never felt like doing ng plus for wo long.
    Not a fan of ng plus I’m general, but the Nioh games implemented it really well with their gear system keeping it fresh.
    Nioh 2 I finished and platinumed the game then went straight to the ng plus and did dream of the strong without a second thought as just enjoyed replaying the whole game in divine kingo gear!
    Wo long really messed up the gear system, I also dont like all the best sets with bonuses are from npc characters do don’t feel unique.

    I totaly agree with all you've said, this game still needs a lot of polish. We're still getting 1 star level drops in a ng+ diff in a dlc ! Like come on.
    They can't treat this game like nioh without adjusting some things in it that nioh doesn't have. One thing they can do imo is that they remove the moral rank in upcoming dlcs in the difficulty beyond soaring dragon. Like congratulations you've made it this far, you can now spam anything you want and clearly we need it cz some enemies with their one shot bs are a joke.

    I agree with most of your points. Wo Longs biggest issue is that unlike past TN games it pigeonholes the player into a very particular playstyles, with builds really just coming down to elemental damage and things like that. The game was fun on its first playthrough or 2 but it just doesn't hold my attention like other TN games have.
    Also forget Nioh 2 for a minute because everyone love to bring that game up in comparison. What about Strangers Of Paradise? A game that came after Nioh 2 and before Wo Long that did many things Wo Long tried to do much better. In SoP not only was the universal parry mechanic more balanced, but it was a PART of the players tool kit not the end all be all of every encounter. It also already did the weapon skills system (or martial arts) far better then Wo Long. You had 7-8 skills per weapon class, all of which could be swapped out at any time, and there was RNG based weapons skills that were attached to weapons. In Wo Long you just get the RNG martial arts system.
    I like the idea of Wo Long and did enjoy the first couple of playthroughs, but the execution the mechanics/systems were not very good considering most them have been done better in older TN games. I tried to playthrough the DLC but it felt like I was forcing myself to playthrough something I just had no interest in anymore and it was mainly due to the repetitive combat and focus on Fatal Strikes, along with deflect.
    I booted up SoP and started a new playthrough with the gun class added in its last DLC and I'm still having so much fun even after dropping 200+ in that game.
    Edit: To add in one more thing. I find if funny people were expecting Wo Long to be Nioh 3 when that is what I felt when playing Strangers Of paradise which came out before Wo Long. Until a Nioh 3 comes out (which won't be anytime soon because if the Rise of the Ronin game they are working on) SoP will be the closet thing to Nioh in terms of gameplay variety, depth, RPG mechanics, Builds, endgame....etc. People who love Nioh or other TN games 100% need to give SoP a try and even if you dislike FF its worth it imo.

    I'm probably gonna wait until all three dlc are released. Nioh 1/2 endgame was cool, so Wo Long doing the exact same thing doesn't compel me to do the same this time around. I love the game, just don't care for having to play it from the beginning 3 more times!!!

  • @tngaming50
    @tngaming50 11 หลายเดือนก่อน

    "What would make you want to play Wo Long DLC/Endgame more?"
    Literally everything you said before asking this question. I wanted to have the option or opportunity to change Martial Arts and have melee do more damage AND have more Morale Gains in higher difficulty but most important is the Flag system and overall upgrade system/RNG system. I don't mind farming upgrades or new skills but the upgrades don't speak for themselves at all and any "new skills" you unlock is abysmal since even with 230 luck it would take hours to days nearly to drop the "skills" you want. So yeah new DLC was gonna be a "hit or miss" ANYWAY and oh boy did it miss 🤦

  • @guyoncouch8796
    @guyoncouch8796 10 หลายเดือนก่อน

    I agree spells scale too much better than melee especially in higher difficulty settings and they definitely need to buff MA the same way as they did spells, but I don't think it's a mistake that fatal blows deal exceptional damage. The game is clearly intended to be like Sekiro where deflection is a primary mechanic, and I consider sekiro head and shoulders above the other From games. There are other options but they want you to master one and I prefer games that prioritize efficiency over freedom.
    The issue though is spells are still the best way to get to fatal blows, and just have much better utility alround.
    Also enemy variety is by far the worst part, it just gets stale when you see them so many times.

      because it played the same way it did in the demo, allllll the way through to the very end. you were hoping for more diverse tools, more impactful weapon arts, cool bosses that challenged you in new ways, variety of enemies, but it devolved to the same flow as the demo had, with, quite literally, the same enemies. strange indeed.
