Activating a battle flag doesn't automatically respawn enemies. It also heals you and fills up your flasks. The small flags don't give you flasks back but do heal you.
@@Dogwalker_ It only respawns if you choose to rest. If you just set it down without going into the flag menu to level up and what not, they don't respawn

Just FYI the moves enemies use with the red flash lower your morale rank by 1 if you get hit by them. Of course it won't lower it past your fortified rank, but if you're wondering, "hay, my morale was higher a moment ago" maybe it was just that red move you failed to deflect.

I struggled with the first boss in the demo but beat him in 15 min when I downloaded the full game. The game is very tough but fun and the best thing you can do is pay attention to how the enemy fights and parrying will become much easier once you have learned how how they fight
I keep hearing it's like sekiro. Does that mean there's a heavy emphasis on parry and block? Like it's a requirement basically how it is in sekiro? I couldn't get into it but I'm willing to give it another try.

I’m definitely gonna try to see what I can make focusing on wood and water. They have that ice range attack in the water virtue so I bet there’s something like that going on later in the virtue tree. Each virtue has an associated status effect build up so that really makes me excited to see what builds y’all cook up.
40 Wood is the hard cap. And water seems to have no cap. So dual swords is the best. Maybe if Post it 12 (metall is capped at 10 I think 🤔)in each other category so u can get all 4 elementals dmg on you weapons. With the martial are you can proc all of them super quick on bosses😎

I’ve played a ton of Nioh 1 and 2 and these systems still came off as being very intimidating to me haha. Super appreciate this! The weapons portions was particularly helpful to me.
It's a bit confusing about the Spirit Gauge for me - when it's on blue side it means that you have a good amount of "mana" to use, but when you have it on orange it means you can still use skills, but you "borrow" the resource from your stance/posture instead of mana? And I assume, that when you get hit while being "full orange" you get stunned/stagerred?
For a good 1 or 2 seconds yup. Couple that with the fact that both every hit you take and every time you PRESS the dodge/deflect button it moves further into orange and it is kind of broken and 100x worse than other SoulsBorne type games. The fastest way to refill the gauge is also attacking so the game is basically forcing you to be as aggressive as possible. The Moral system is just as unbalanced.
Basically you need to manage your spirit. Deflecting successfully and and getting normal attacks in makes you gain spirit, martial arts, wizardry spells, dodging and spirit attack consume spirit. Spirit attack (heavy attack) does more damage the more positive spirit you have as well. Once you get the gist of it it feels fair and amazing. The mechanics of this game are amazing.
I would love to go in already knowing which weapons scale with which stat, so I can plan my build beforehand. Also knowing the max possible level, or at least the level I'm looking at for beating the game without farming so I have an idea of how many points I have to plan.
Looks like close to level 100 on the first play through. Also worth mentioning that you will get enough points to unlock all spells. Boomstick gaming has a video with most of the weapon varieties and their stats
@@zackeryh250 so you can't really have a maxed out stat with a healthy spread then? Good to know, I was thinking on getting some 20 points or so in each stat to access all spells and pump up my weapon's scaling stat but I see that's not a viable option, very good to know indeed
You can change your stats (the levelling up points you spend in different virtues) every time you want and all the times you want. So you don't really need to plan at the beginning, you can switch builds as much as you want!
I'm thinking I'm probably gonna use a mix of wood, fire, and earth, but with a heavy focus on fire since I tend to go for aggressive melee focused builds. Or maybe just pure fire but idk if that's recommended really-

so this is looking more like a mix of dark souls/sekiro with like some of nioh gearing. One thing i hated about nioh was end game was after a few dlc's so I tend to usually wait till all the dlc's are available

That's why you need to increase your morale system. The higher the morale, the more damage you do to higher morale enemies. You also take less damage as well with higher morale ranks which means morale is really important even when you're high level.

Basically, should I gamble the accolade points the second I get to the village, or wait till the final mission for new game plus? Or on the NG+, or some between? When is the best time to invest on gambling and upgrading weapons/armour?
The weapons given to you by NPC's when they have sworn their royalty are better than the "normal" ones of the same kind. They do slightly more damage and have powerful unique martial arts (special moves). Other than that, weapons are all good and you just need to scale them with your virtues and upgrade them at the forge. You could absolutely play the entire game with the same weapon you picked up at the beginning if you want to.
Basically never spend accolades, you will always find better weapons just going through missions and swearing loyalty to the NPC's that help you (you can find them as reinforcements and summon them at battle flags)
@@nikosxi it's the same with armour, basically every ally gives you their full equipment once they reach loyalty 10 to you. Also, that armor and weapon they give you has passive buffs for every piece of the set you are equipping. You are welcome!

Deflect, deflect and deflect! Take the first boss as a skill check that will show you how to use the basic mechanics of the game, after you beat him you will have learned and the rest of the game won't look that difficult. Once you learn to manage your spirit/ lower the bosses spirit and deflect the combat is so satisfying
I was stuck forever until I realized I could deflect his heavy attack and that helps to kill him quickly. His second form you just have to get him below 50% and then you can finish him off.
The deflect/parry system isn't explained that well and that you're suppose to deflect his heavy attack which makes short work of him and his second form.
Yes it will all carry over. Trophies are also retroactively implemented. I maxed out zhao yun oath level in demo and upon playing in final version trophy pops out. So by the time i play the final game I resumed on next area after the pig boss in demo.
At first I thought 'wow great, free respec' then realized you gotta respec for the last 3 boss fights 😂 Funny how we thought they were being cool but it's actually necessary to complete the game without painful death after death lols

It's much easier in this game than any other Souls game. I suck at parrying/deflecting in other Souls game (never do it in Elden Ring) but this one I actually can do. The charged attack seems to have a larger window where you can deflect than a regular attack.
I even took a break to level up some and am at lvl 21 and still cant beat the monkey thing. I can get almost all his health then he one shots me every time...
The game looks interesting. After i tried the Demo i think the first boss is just a bit to much for the start of a game. One reviewer said its the hardest boss in the game xD well anyway maybe i try it later on sale :)
Absolutely, I don't know why they did that. It took me much longer to get started because of it. I think they overdid that a bit. Rest is cake compared.
He seems pretty hard because you're fresh in the game and not cool with the mechanics. But after being in the game for a while, he's pretty predictable and not that hard. Not saying that I would win first try, but he's def not as much as a pain in he ass as the first time. That's what she said.

You can also save different builds and load them with ease. Your current combination of armor, weapon and skill points can be saved in a slot.
I was so pumped when I saw you could do this. Such an awesome thing to have in the game. Makes respec so much more user friendly

Parrying/deflect is vital but it's easier to do in this game than any other Souls game (I suck at parrying, usually).

There are fire spells that can give you a damage buff. i think it requires at least 12 in the fire stat.

real surprised theres no qi flux similar to the ki flux in nioh.

I would bet you have to start over and they are going to give you some gift like a armor set in the in game mail for completing the demo.
From what I read, if you finished the demo, once your purchase the game you have the option to continue from where the demo left you

The game looks interesting. After i tried the Demo i think the first boss is just a bit to much for the start of a game. One reviewer said its the hardest boss in the game xD well anyway maybe i try it later on sale :)
Absolutely, I don't know why they did that. It took me much longer to get started because of it. I think they overdid that a bit. Rest is cake compared.
He seems pretty hard because you're fresh in the game and not cool with the mechanics. But after being in the game for a while, he's pretty predictable and not that hard. Not saying that I would win first try, but he's def not as much as a pain in he ass as the first time. That's what she said.
#special tip Find and upgrade your trustworthy tonfa, one of the strongest Nioh 1-2 weapon and build so far. Oh yea, this game does not have any chinese tonfa for some reason though...
