It's been cold in the mornings here in the Scottish Borders. I have had the heating on already. I have recently reduced my wardrobe to a third of what I had. No more stuff that I never wear, doesn't fit etc. Another good video Becky ❤

Stuff I no longer wear goes to charities. Closets can get cluttered too easy. Did a declutter recently w/ summer clothes. It's now mild fall and winter near Gulf of Mexico.
I created my capsule wardrobe after retiring on disability. I needed styles easy to put on & off with limited mobility. That doesn't mean its frumpy ! Actually by upgrading to fewer but better quality pieces & learning how to style them I get more compliments than ever! My capsule is in my clear winter pallet, bright jewel tone tops, black white & navy bottoms. Add some jewelry & pointy toe flats & this grandma looking ok!

After retiring I decluttered skirts and dressy blouses and clothes that didn't fit. I dress casual, classic style and have several dress pants and tops, blazer for rare events. I stick w/ neutrals like navy, grays, olive, camel, beige for pants, tops, shoes, purses and jackets. Wear some tops in teal, greens and blues for variety. Wear the warm colors next to my face. In cooler weather have warmer plaid shirts and denim. I live in a warm climate with some cooler days in winter near the gulf of Mexico.
I'd love to see more of a breakdown of your items and an updated full wardrobe tour. I'm trying for a minimal all-year wardrobe, and your past videos have been so helpful!
I hang clothes by type and color, active wear (synthetic fabric) are in drawers like tops and some bottoms. Rain jackets and other outerwear I hang in separate closet.
I would love to see how you style these clothes for different situations, example for date nights, weekend errands, or family dinners/birthdays. I think that is super helpful when working with a small wardrobe and would love some inspo❤
You’ve totally convinced me to try a capsule wardrobe. Your method is so relatable. I’ve seen other videos that seem so unrealistic, but I think I can make this work after watching your video. Thank you❤❤❤
Hi, Becky. I'm just south of you in the Raleigh NC area and totally get the 50s in the morning, 80s in the afternoon! Getting real about my lifestyle has certainly helped decrease fantasy purchases. BTW, I love that sweater you're wearing! So cute.
I hear you about the weather! I live in Michigan, and it's 89*F today! Thankfully no humidity! I don't have enough clothes to warrant calling what I have a "wardrobe" lol! I have jeggings (doubles for work) and tops to go with them (also, mostly for work). I can fit all the clothes and shoes that I own (for all 4 seasons!) into ONE suitcase!
❤❤❤ Building a new capsule wardrobe is a perfekt time to look through all summer clothes. I let go of everything that I haven't worn this summer or do not really like anymore. Thank you for your good advices again. That really helps me to focus! ❤❤❤
❤ very interested in capsule wardrobe. I've been decluttering my clothes for a few years and trying to find my style before buying more. Your video gave me some tips. Thank you!
💖💞 I decluttered and donated ill fitting jeans/pants and replaced them just today! 😊😊

I decluttered pullover tops, some were old yet donatable to group homes, etc. I have one blouse from Sears which closed over a decade ago in my area I still wear. Some pieces we all eventually get tired of wearing get decluttered but now I stick more to solid colors.
Aloha from Hawaii. Thank you-I appreciate your honesty with yourself in your process. Your insights will be very helpful to me as I get rid of a lot of pieces I appreciate for its beauty, but just find impractical for my lifestyle and the tropical climate here in Hawaii. I’m definitely going to have to rewatch this as I’m actively building it. 😅
Hi Becky! I just discovered your channel and love it. I also live pretty close to you. I retired from teaching 10 years ago after 42 years - 37 in Henrico elementary schools. Keep up the great tips!
Just subscribed and already addicted to your videos 😅 I live in the Netherlands (been to Virginia a few years ago btw and loved it ❤), and your videos inspire me: thank you for that! ❤ Love your shadow btw 😁(9:35)
@@minimalease We went to a very, very small town near the border of North Carolina (a Dutch friend lived there), and we did a lot of roadtrips, through Virginia and North Carolina. It was great 💃🏻
Id love to know if the sweater you are wearing is still available? It is exactly what I need in my wardrobe! My core colors are cream/white and navy with mustard/cinnamon accents. We obviously have similar tastes!
Question…I’ve had a certain sweater for 15 years! I absolutely love it and it’s so cozy and people always compliment it. But, it’s old. It’s starting to show its age but still great. Should I let it go? It’s been seen by everyone who knows me and is in so many photos and that’s usually a sign to me to let it go. Thoughts?
Kinda seems like a trademark! Not a sign to let it go. There was a semi recent article about a dad who had the same LL Bean flannel shirt basically his whole life, and it was a very fond memory for his adult children. If you love it and it's in good condition, keep. Also, sweater defuzzers do well in reviving old sweaters!
♥ I definitely have a capsule wardrobe in the summer but I have more for the fall and winter because I love wearing cardigans, which of course have to be layered over another shirt. Do you have to do your laundry more than once a week or is that fine?
In a world full of ...well we all know what going on everywere.. i just want to give some ❤ to everyone that reads this. I wish much love and happiness for you ❤ This page makes me feel good every time i visit, thank you.

❤ Slowly decluttering my clothes, loving having less, especially creating my style I like the most.
Love that!

I am aiming for the year round wardrobe also.

Yay! Thank you!😍
Obsessed with this cardigan/sweater you’re wearing!! 😱
Thank you!!
Yes, thrifted? Or still somewhere now? I have minimized my sweaters to 2 but would prefer 3 and love that one.
I've watched so many videos on downsizing my wardrobe but this is the best. I'm going to follow your suggestions.
What an amazing compliment 💕 thanks so much! And I’m sending the best of luck!

Same in CA. Colder mornings, warm afternoons, and cool in the evenings again. I have to dress in layers.
Yes!! Layers all the way
Loving the new or new to our eyes pieces in your wardrobe. Wear that cream patterned dress, girl!
Thank you!!

Wow! No humidity that’s amazing 🤩
Now that sounds like a real capsule wardrobe.

Hi Becky! Where did you get your sleeveless maxi dress? I love the floral print of it. Thanks!
Thanks I think it was just the thrift store unfortunately so I don’t have a link but I can check the label!

If you absolutely love it, but it’s not really wearable anymore, I would make it into a cushion or teddy bear, just so you always have it. ❤
I’m going to answer this on my next Q&A coming up! Thanks so much for sharing 💕
Where is that button down brown shirt/sweater from!?
Jcrew factory 💕
I cracked up with the swimsuit clip! 😂
