Come on people, the answer to the Quiet Rapture mystery is very obvious... Some Deep Ones finally found Varnae's tomb in the sunken Atlantis, became half vampire and half deep one hybrids (the Aqueos Sect) and after centuries of planning (perhaps creating the vampire clan Lasombra in the process) arrived in space and performed a ritual to communicate/summon/harness the power of the Fire Vampires from space to create the sea of blood as a sort of “Paradise”, but it went wrong... I sound crazy, don't I?

The Fire Vampires (by Donald Wandrei) appear in the Cthulhu Mythos and are extensions/children of Fthaggua. As I understand it.
