what a shame. a review with this headset if you dont experience it with a miles morales at the ps5. do a review again, after you play it with games like deamon souls, atro playroom, miles morales. wich were optimized for those games

Anyone using these on Windows 10, I would strongly suggest you enable Dolby Atmos in your Windows sound control panel. For anyone experiencing issues with the volume rocker, this will fix that. Sound profiles and custom EQ's are also fully supported from the Atmos control panel, so if you're looking for more bass or trebles, it'll knock you out of your chair.
Hi, I have been using them on my laptop for gaming until my PS5 arrives on Thursday. Have you used them on the PS5 yet? If so, how much louder are they on the PS5 compared to using them on Windows 10 standard, not through dolby app. Thanks.

Great review! As someone who’s never owned a “good,” set of gaming headphones this helped make my purchase decision much easier.
I received this headset on Oct. 29 with the other PS5 accessories and the first thing I did was connect it to the PS4 and play Ghost of Tsushima with the "Headphones (3D Audio)" option, and it was great. I don't know how different it was from the regular "Headphone (non-3D Audio)" option, but I can tell you it was noticeably different than toggling the 3D audio option with regular (non-3D) headsets.
So you've played a while while wearing this headset right? Please tell me honestly, that you didn't feel pressure on your ears or getting a bit hot? I just got them and had on my head for 15 - 20 min and checked some games and my ears hurt a bit and are hot. Now maybe they just need time to adjust or I need to get used to them but I wouldn't say that they can be comfortable for a few hour gaming session.
@@grzegorzwojtyla7471 I haven't felt any of that. Sometimes I can feel the headset but not because it's hot or uncomfortable.

@@grzegorzwojtyla7471 yeah, I have 18 or so different headphones and headsets. Two from HyperX, two from LucidSound, just to name some examples. Those are all mostly more comfortable than the Pulse 3D from Sony except for one of the HyperX (Cloud) but I wouldn't say I'd pick any of them over this one for that reason alone; the main thing with the Pulse 3D headset is they made the earcups smaller and bigger at the same time so you have this sort of on-ear-over-ear fusion style going on where it seems like they want to sit on your ears but the cup is big enough to shove your ears in them so they do. I suppose it just depends on your ears, your head and your face... Some headsets are super comfortable for my head and ears but then put pressure on my cheeks/jawline where I get super uncomfortable quicker and more often than with other headsets. I had to get rid of the Razer Nari Essential because they pushed on my cheek way down by my chin and I couldn't stand them.

A good camera and content doesn't mean subs ....I've seen a what looked like a college news station of sorts with like no subs maybe like 4 but had a really good camera and content and I felt bad and they put alot out

How's your experience so far and how is it for music if you've tried it.
Bought this Friday and found the sound was too quiet and not bassy enough on my PS5. Sold mine on Saturday and got the white Turtle Beach Stealth 600 Gen 2 which is much better and a lot louder and more bassy.
I've seen some reviews of the new Sony PS5 headsets and your review was explained in grand detail compared to the other reviews. I bought a pair of HyperX Cloud Flight S based on your review and will probably stick with those when I get my PS5. Keep up the great work.

There is no "3D pulse", that's literally misinformation. PS5 3D audio doesn't require specific headsets... it's running in basic stereo, that's quite literally what makes it different than other 3D audio implementations. The 3D effect comes from using HRTF profiles to change how audio is output to simulate 3D sound. The downside to this approach is that every one will have a different HRTF and Sony is looking into long term solutions to this (eg. sending an image of your ear for AI to render an HRTF profile for you). Since you can't get a custom HRTF profile right now, they supply five out of the box (in the OS) that you can try out to see which one best suits you.
The entire purpose of this implementation is to remove barriers to 3D audio as this will work with headphones at launch, stereo speakers shortly after, and surround sound in some time in the future. This allows access to 3D audio to everyone, instead of the negligible minority of us that can afford high end sounds systems, like Dolby Atmos.
Arctis 7X all the way man, the fact that they work with ALL devices, makes them "the one headset to rule them all" honestly. Plan to use them across my PC, XboxSx and PS5. Finally one headset for all.
Yeah I'm debating on which pair to get myself. I have a bit of a headset/headphone problem cuz I currently have the Arctis Pro + Gamedac, Sony Platinum, HyperX Revolver, Phillips SHP9500, a few pairs of earbuds and a pair of Sennheisers lol. I know the Platinum can do the 3D audio on PS5 but I prefer the look and design of the Pulse, plus they're like $150 cheaper so I'm leaning towards those. I love the look of the 7P too and I love the SS sound signature, so I'm not sure what to do lol
@@jamesw657 woah, your a headsets collector or something?! Haha I believe that if you own the Sony Platinum's you're completely set, they are by far the best of Sony for Playstation. The build quality is superior to 3D Pulse.
And that is exactly why I bought the Arctis 7x. Only thing I did was add Steelseries leather earpads

I have a big head and I was worried about breaking them since i broke a 180 dlls headphones before. When he stretched them at a almost 180º woow I’m more happy. I found out the mic quality is better as how reviewer’s make it look and the base is not the best but you can hear it. Other than that for 100$ the headset is perfect and also the design I had the A50 300$ headsets before for 7 years and this gives me a similar experience and I would say a better experience when it comes to 3D audio(more detailed/precise)

I own a Turtle Beach Stealth 700, and I'm thinking of upgrading to gen 2, but I'm also considering buying the Pulse 3D. Which one should I get?
Im also in dubio with these two.. I think the 700 gen 2 has better sounds quality ( he also mentioned this) and probably a little but more alive bass/sound. I owned the previous PS headsets and they were always a bit 'shallow' or something.. hard to describe.
@Aaron I never owned a Steelseries headset. Are they better than turtle Beach? Same price?
@Aaron how is the ' ANC' on the steelseries 9 for example? If you have them on, does a lot of outside noise go through the earcups?

That chat/game button is the absolute best thing about PlayStation headsets, and I've used other headsets since replacing my platinums they just don't have that fine adjustment, or they don't function at all on PS4.
The only review I found measuring the ears. It will fit for me, thanks for that!

@@williamswainson9774 yup exactly that. Biggest negative of the PlayStation headsets is a lack of a retractable or foldaway boom mic, which some people will be willing it pay extra for or will sacrifice to save some money
thats the perfect sponsor for the pulse because their earcups hurt my ears. I got some wicked cushion earcups for sony model, but use them on the pulse and now they feel comfortable

Glad I found this vid. Biggest takeaway is that I can keep my old PlayStation Gold headset for my PS5 and just replace my shredded ear cushions. Saved me over $100 bucks :-)
God damn, what a great review. You're the only one that showed the size of the earpads and I literally couldn't even find it on Sony's website. I was looking at that info for like 2 days until I watched your video. I am considering buying and wanted to check the size to see if it will go over or on my ears.
No mention of mic quality which is important. No mention how long it takes to fully charge when flat. No real test to see if the battery does last 12 hours. Otherwise a decent enough review.
Got my Pulse 3D's like 1 Week ago and tried them in a lot of Games (on ps4 pro)! i have to admit that the sound is really really good with this ones but what truly made me send them straight back to sony is the absolute bad mic-quality :D i mean it's my opinion but i used to play with a wired cheap logitech headset which is about 6 years old and even they got better mic-quality xD waiting for black friday and gotta have to decide between the 700 gen 2 and arctis 9 thanks to your reviews :D keep it up man

I really hate the lack of any adjustment with this headset. Feels so loose when I place it on my head and I like it pretty tight and high up on my ears, but these sit very low.

I've got my PS5 on pre-order, ready to rock and roll. 1 issue. My Headset is broken. I roughly play 65% console, and 35% PC. Tossing and turning between which headset to pick up. My other choice is the Arctis 5. Thoughts? Thanks dude!!
It would help to do a review for the Pulse 3D with the PS5, since that’s what the headset wa made for.
Just got these today. EXTREMELY uncomfortable if you’re using PSVR2. If you put them over the headset there is a big gap allowing sound in and the sound is horrible. With it under the headset the sound is astonishing but the headset pushes the ear cups into your ear and it hurts within about 30 minutes. They do sound unbelievably awesome though. If you’re not using PSVR, I suppose they’d be ok. Problem is they slide all over the place while on your head. I tilted my head forward and back just a little and they moved a lot. You’ll be making a lot of adjustments while playing. Guess I’ll
Be trying out the Pulse earbuds next. If they don’t work, it’s back to my $30 Amazon headphones which are extremely comfortable and sound decent enough.

Just picked these up yesterday at Walmart, and they sound great! Love the fit, I got a big ass dome and big ears and they fit good. My ears fit inside the cups just fine. Sound good on ps5!

I preordered but haven’t bought these yet but the Arctic 7Xs are catching my eye because they’ll work with my Xbox also and I can have 1 for everything. I feel like these will have better sound on the ps5 with the integration they have but is it really worth having to buy a second headset

Exactly. This is a nice headset, but it doesn’t have anything that you can’t get from others. The really important thing is the 3D Tempest Audio engine, and that’s all on the console, so will work with any headphones

I use the beyerdynamic dt990 for gaming and I was disappointed by the sound of the pulse. Sounds a bit tinny.

These Headsets are for people who are new to headsets but dont want to buy from other companies.
These Headsets are like baby steps for better headset and headset amplifiers (like what the Arctis Pro+DAC and the Arctis Pro Wireless, can do.)
I will say though the sound settings that the PS4 Headset App was able to give to player did a great job for people who got the pulse headsets on PS4.
So no doubt the PS5 Pulse and the Companion App will do the same.
