I just connected my pulse elite to my portal on the first try. I turned them on first, then held down the PlayStation link button on the headphones for eight seconds until the blue light was flashing really fast on the headphones. Then I held down the PlayStation link button on the portal and it connected.

Great video man! Yeah, I LOVE the Elites way more than my 3D’s. However, my Elites have disconnected on me three times now, which is a known issue, right? That’s the only gripe I have but other than that the comfort, sound, and functionality with the duelsense edge is an upgrade for sure.

Thanks for the video man. My old headset mic just broke and I can't find a decent replacement for it anywhere (Razer Blackshark V2 Pro 2020), so It's time for a new headset. The non-replaceable cuffs and the mic quality are pretty big drawbacks of the Pulse Elite, but audio is king, so I think I'll end up going for them over the Pulse 3ds. You had a chance to try them out with PC too? I'm interested to know if you are still able to change the EQ settings on there, or if you have to do it on the PS5 before swapping over.

Do you think the Elites are trying to prioritize connecting to the dongle over the portal ? Especially if you connected them to the dongle first. Could you unplug all dongles you may have and reset the Elites. Then turn them off turn on the portal set it to pair then turn on the Elites and try to pair them that way. So the dongle doesn't interfere with the connection. Just an idea
I still use the sony platinums and liked having the mixer rocker because sometimes i play in a party to bullshit with friends while playing single player games. This allows me to turn their volume down during cutscenes without having to pull up menus. I memorized button layouts so the extra buttons didn't bother me. Those elites sound solid though. Eating chips while playing and not having to mute is life changing. I often forget to unmute and end up talking to myself.
I'm interested in the Pulse Elite as my Steelseries Arctis 1 battery is going is the Pulse Elite worth the money or am I better sticking with Steelseries

I have just watched your review and have a question, when it comes to game chat on the elite can you hear your own voice feedback? When you talk on a phone you hear your own voice when talking! I can hear my own voice when chatting with my turtle beech headset and find I shout when I can’t hear my own voice feedback. So I had disconnect issues on my ps5 when I had the usb connected to the back of the ps5. Then I decided to reach back there and it was burning hot and switch the usb to the front and it’s been flawless since. Wondering if people are having the same issue due to heat?
Ive never had that issue before, I actually beleive that you might have it less open from the back than from the front which means that the ps5 cant breathe from the back, good to note tho 😄
Planing on getting the elites, my turtle beach stealth 700 gen 2 had a audio melt down the other night playing final fantasy 7 remake with major audio distortion.
@CKidM sad part is those were new when I got them, my xbox ones of the same model which i bought refurbished doesn't have that problem, even checked to make sure their software was up to date. So not sure if it's the turtle beaches or the playstation software not playing nice.

I have a Astro A40 Headset with the mix amp on the PS5 Is there anything better then that for the PS5 ? Im watching this video because a Sony headset should compliment the console more then 3rd party headsets. I know audio is subjective but I mainly care about footstep audio, especially in games like Apex Legends
I just changed the location of the PS5 and the disconnects stopped. The PS5 was behind a 58" TV and it was preventing the signal from getting through properly. Now it's OK.
You can also Mute the Voice chat by pressing the ps5 button in the middle of the controller and going to the sound option. Easier then going to the settings in game.
I don't know how exactly to describe it but when I move my neck or simply move with this headset I hear a sound like inside the headset that is not from the game I wish I could describe it but is a bit annoying, someone knows if that is "normal" when using the headset while moving ?
Thank you so much for mentioning that your pulse elite isn't connecting to the portal. I thought I was the only one because no one on TH-cam has mentioned any problems. I can't wait for Sony to fix this because I work 40 hours a week and when I get home from work someone is always using the tv when I want to play my games. So I always grab my portal. Did you do your review on the OG PS5 or the Slim PS5? I bought these but they were terrible on my OG PS5 and had to return them. There’s Reddit threads with people who are having similar issues including disconnection issues.

I just got a portal, and didn’t research enough to find the standard 3ds don’t work with the portal wirelessly. First mistake there. I got a £50 voucher for free for my local electronic second hand store so I’m picking up a camo set of the first 3d pulse for a total cash spend of £20 on top. I don’t want the white version of the new elites as I have 2 camo controllers so I’ll make do with this one I’m about to get till the new colour versions start to drop on the elites. For a a total £20 spend, I’ll wait out the long game
Save your money. Major connection issues for one. Extremely uncomfortable for two and if you have a PSVR2, I hope you like using the stick earbuds that came with it because you can’t use these.

If you have Connection Problems use the usb in the front, if you have a ps5 slim biy a usb Hub the Problem is the heat at the back it fucks up the Dongle, thank me later
Best headphones at 150, only ones I could see being better is the maxwells and or Astro 850x. But using the elites along with the dual sense edge makes these even better for the ps5
@@XVNRX They junk. They lightweight cheap plastic all around except the ear ups which are heavy. So they pull down on your ears. And the head strap doesn’t have enough tension to hold it tight. So every time you move your head it slides around. And most people with these and the pulse explorer have major issues with staying connected to the console. Not to mention they are pretty much useless with PSVR2
Bro! There's thousands of reviews saying the elites randomly disconnect! I got them yesterday and they DO disconnect mid game no matter where you plug the dongle in, front or back of the PS5. Amazing headset, but should I return it now or will it get patched?
Mine disconnected about four times since release in the first week, but haven't disconnected once this week, my usb is plugged in the back of my PS so i thought maybe its getting too hot
Mine did the same. All kinds of issues with mine. Crackling and popping noises as well. Very uncomfortable and useless for PSVR2. Sent mine back. Going with IEMS for gaming.
The only thing I don’t like about the elites is the distortion you get when you turn the volume up past a certain level. I think the explore buds actually handle that better.
Bro! I thought I was just crazy because I purchased both the explore and the elites and when I turned them both up it seemed like the elites couldn't handle it, but the earbuds could. Not to also mention that it seems like the buds have better bass for some reason, but the elites are a bit louder. I'm on the fence but I might be returning the elites and sticking with the buds for my everyday use.
It’s crazy that I upgraded from the 3D pulses to Pulse Elite and they kept disconnecting until they wouldn’t connect at all to the PS5 anymore. Connects to my phone and gaming laptop but will no longer connect to my PlayStation. But after I searched online this is a BIG problem and a lot of peoples headset isn’t connecting (even after returning and getting new ones over 5 times) so if you’re thinking of getting them, don’t…… atleast not until they update them cause they’re just $150 paper weights right now
I feel like a major concern for all headsets is build quality after years and years of buy 300 400 dollar headsets they all seem to start to crack or break off at the cup or above the earcup aluminum or steel or some kind of metal stems shld be used
I received my Pulse Elite yesterday. When I was playing with the automatically adjustable headband, it got stuck in it’s upper position on one side of the headset. I was eventually able to get it unstuck, but it was not as easy as you might think. Did anyone else also experience this?
I had the same issue. It actually shows in the video, it got stuck to one side. I removed the rubber to see what’s happening inside, and it seems to be the metal plate got stuck with the connecting plastic part when it reaches maximum range. I think it is a design error that could be avoid if the plastic part is more flat to let the metal goes back.

😂 same, I like them more then the 3d. I’m just trying different ww settings, so far I like them with a little extra bass and low and leave everything else where it is. Seems to sound the cleanest so far but I don’t really know what I’m doing 😂.
Hey Sony why are we still using dongles for. And my Elites have disconnected on me also. But the sound is superb. And with the 3Ds they put a lot of pressure on my ears which became painful after awhile. I gotta say the Elites are worth the extra 50$. Great video👍
Owned these but ended up buying the pulse explore for overall comfort, so I returned them. Came across a pair on mercari for $50 great condition and I couldn't resist.
Yup. Mine too. Sent them back. Reset the dongle numerous times. Un-paired/re-paired numerous times plus mine also had this annoying crackling/popping noise randomly. Absolute more trash released by Sony.

Returned my Elites after two weeks of trying them out. Headache after 15 minutes, every single time I used them. The fact that PSVR2 goes on over them, locking them in place is a major negative. Keeping my Pulse 3D as they are much more comfortable and work great with PSVR2. Sound quality not as good as the Elite but the 3D does the job for a much smaller price tag, especially if you buy used.
I'm weirded out that some people actually bought playstation portal? I guess it's good if your household only has one TV but otherwise i see no use for it. Btw disconnect issues were fixed completely for me having USB hub with it's own power, i plugged it behind ps5 and plugged Playstation USB link(the USB thing that comes with the headset) to the hub and no connection issues sense and i have like 30-50 hours playtime.

Honestly, the ear cups could’ve been better lol but with all the buttons on that one side, I actually gotten used to it to where I don’t need to keep taking off the headset, I learned the placements of the buttons lol 😂 idk that might be a little weird from me 💀 but I agree they didn’t have to put all of them on there but that mic monitor switch is clutch 💯👏🏽😂
Just save a for a few more weeks or months and get the better version. The Pulse Elite. But, if you are in the money, go for the Audeze Maxwell. The Pulse Elite uses Audeze drivers, but a lesser version of them.

Then when you talked about how they don't connect with the Playstation Portal, you broke my heart bro lol 😅! Need your honesty man. Should I just go with the PULSE Explore wireless earbuds then? I don't use headphones for chat anymore. Just for the Playstation Portal, so I'm not blasting out loud the Playstation Portal speakers. My pulse elite is connected to my portal just turn off the headset then hold the power button you will see green light flashing keep hold until you see white light on them press portal link button
To connect to the Portal: 1. Unplug the dongle from the PS5 . 2. Turn on the Portal and unlock the device. 3. Turn on the headset. You will see the portal see the device. -If it's your first time connecting, have the headset off, hold the power button until for 8-10 sec, you will hear a beep. Tap the link button on the Portal.

I have been using pulse elite for a week they are good, had one random disconnect and mic quality is not as good as wired pc38x which is still a fav. I had a couple people say the mic sound is not as clear, might be from the noise rejection
I returned mine. Mine disconnected almost constantly. I’d reset the dongle/re-pair them and they’d work for a couple hours then start again. Did this four different times until I boxed them back up and sent them back. Good riddance to bad trash.
couldnt sony push a patch to fix alot of issues with the elites ( both earbuds and earphones) sounds to me like all the "issues" people have could be solved 100 percent by pushing a firmware update or even a hot patch. thoughts?..
i had the astro a50 gen 3, the elite are much better.. the bass was stronger on the astro but not better.. the witcher 3 with 3d audio and elite you feel like your in the game
I personally prefer the pulse 3d elite more than the original, it’s worth the 50 dollar price difference, the original 3d pulse earcuffs irritates my ears really badly

I own both the pulse elites and explores, and I don't think it just me but the explores seem to have more bass, and the elites seem to be a tad louder, but I'm not sure I'm going to keep both since I game a lot in vr and the elites are amazing, but I'm really impressed by what Sony has done with their earbuds.

I miss my platinums. The earcup leather started peeling off after using them for like 5 years, saddest day ever

If you have Connection Problems use the usb in the front, if you have a ps5 slim biy a usb Hub the Problem is the heat at the back it fucks up the Dongle, thank me later

Best headphones at 150, only ones I could see being better is the maxwells and or Astro 850x. But using the elites along with the dual sense edge makes these even better for the ps5

@@XVNRX They junk. They lightweight cheap plastic all around except the ear ups which are heavy. So they pull down on your ears. And the head strap doesn’t have enough tension to hold it tight. So every time you move your head it slides around. And most people with these and the pulse explorer have major issues with staying connected to the console. Not to mention they are pretty much useless with PSVR2

Bro! There's thousands of reviews saying the elites randomly disconnect! I got them yesterday and they DO disconnect mid game no matter where you plug the dongle in, front or back of the PS5. Amazing headset, but should I return it now or will it get patched?
I just haven't experienced that yet...but that's why I mentioned it in this video that it's a factor that people should consider.
@CKidM I mean it's more than a factor, its a deal breaker. Imagine having to unplug the dongle every few matches bro. Makes zero sense
Mine disconnected about four times since release in the first week, but haven't disconnected once this week, my usb is plugged in the back of my PS so i thought maybe its getting too hot
Mine did the same. All kinds of issues with mine. Crackling and popping noises as well. Very uncomfortable and useless for PSVR2. Sent mine back. Going with IEMS for gaming.
Do you turn up all your sound setting or do you leave it at normal r bass boosted??

The elite fail is not having the game and chat volume and you can’t use it in the mixer unless you are in a party with the 3d you can use it anytime

The only thing I don’t like about the elites is the distortion you get when you turn the volume up past a certain level. I think the explore buds actually handle that better.
Bro! I thought I was just crazy because I purchased both the explore and the elites and when I turned them both up it seemed like the elites couldn't handle it, but the earbuds could. Not to also mention that it seems like the buds have better bass for some reason, but the elites are a bit louder. I'm on the fence but I might be returning the elites and sticking with the buds for my everyday use.
It’s crazy that I upgraded from the 3D pulses to Pulse Elite and they kept disconnecting until they wouldn’t connect at all to the PS5 anymore. Connects to my phone and gaming laptop but will no longer connect to my PlayStation. But after I searched online this is a BIG problem and a lot of peoples headset isn’t connecting (even after returning and getting new ones over 5 times) so if you’re thinking of getting them, don’t…… atleast not until they update them cause they’re just $150 paper weights right now
I feel like a major concern for all headsets is build quality after years and years of buy 300 400 dollar headsets they all seem to start to crack or break off at the cup or above the earcup aluminum or steel or some kind of metal stems shld be used
I received my Pulse Elite yesterday. When I was playing with the automatically adjustable headband, it got stuck in it’s upper position on one side of the headset. I was eventually able to get it unstuck, but it was not as easy as you might think.
Did anyone else also experience this?
I had the same issue. It actually shows in the video, it got stuck to one side. I removed the rubber to see what’s happening inside, and it seems to be the metal plate got stuck with the connecting plastic part when it reaches maximum range. I think it is a design error that could be avoid if the plastic part is more flat to let the metal goes back.
@@atomicwr92 I didn’t even notice it in the video at first, thanks for pointing that out. At least it’s good to know that it’s not only my unit that’s affected by this. I don’t expect this to occur frequently however.

😂 same, I like them more then the 3d. I’m just trying different ww settings, so far I like them with a little extra bass and low and leave everything else where it is. Seems to sound the cleanest so far but I don’t really know what I’m doing 😂.
I have another pair of Sony headphones and they have the same multi buttons on the one side and you can’t tell what’s what without taking it off
Hey Sony why are we still using dongles for. And my Elites have disconnected on me also. But the sound is superb. And with the 3Ds they put a lot of pressure on my ears which became painful after awhile. I gotta say the Elites are worth the extra 50$. Great video👍
Owned these but ended up buying the pulse explore for overall comfort, so I returned them. Came across a pair on mercari for $50 great condition and I couldn't resist.
Yes you can change earcups on new Pulse Elite i saw one video someone explained and put off easily with some knife...

Yup. Mine too. Sent them back. Reset the dongle numerous times. Un-paired/re-paired numerous times plus mine also had this annoying crackling/popping noise randomly. Absolute more trash released by Sony.

Using the usb c port with an adapter solves the issue apparently
Returned my Elites after two weeks of trying them out. Headache after 15 minutes, every single time I used them. The fact that PSVR2 goes on over them, locking them in place is a major negative. Keeping my Pulse 3D as they are much more comfortable and work great with PSVR2. Sound quality not as good as the Elite but the 3D does the job for a much smaller price tag, especially if you buy used.

I'm weirded out that some people actually bought playstation portal? I guess it's good if your household only has one TV but otherwise i see no use for it. Btw disconnect issues were fixed completely for me having USB hub with it's own power, i plugged it behind ps5 and plugged Playstation USB link(the USB thing that comes with the headset) to the hub and no connection issues sense and i have like 30-50 hours playtime.

Honestly, the ear cups could’ve been better lol but with all the buttons on that one side, I actually gotten used to it to where I don’t need to keep taking off the headset, I learned the placements of the buttons lol 😂 idk that might be a little weird from me 💀 but I agree they didn’t have to put all of them on there but that mic monitor switch is clutch 💯👏🏽😂

But, if you are in the money, go for the Audeze Maxwell. The Pulse Elite uses Audeze drivers, but a lesser version of them.
Aww bro! My Turtle Beach wireless headphones went out 2 hours ago, playing on the Playstation Portal using the dongle on the PS5. I was like OK, my man says PULSE Elites Headset are legit. Then when you talked about how they don't connect with the Playstation Portal, you broke my heart bro lol 😅! Need your honesty man. Should I just go with the PULSE Explore wireless earbuds then? I don't use headphones for chat anymore. Just for the Playstation Portal, so I'm not blasting out loud the Playstation Portal speakers. Theoretically, it's kind of like the PULSE Explore wireless earbuds were made for the Playstation Portal, don't you think? No Jordan cry face here my man lol! I'll shell out the extra cash if I need to! 😅
PS5 pulse 3D headset lunch version where not leather. They had leather feel but they were not leather.
My pulse elite is connected to my portal just turn off the headset then hold the power button you will see green light flashing keep hold until you see white light on them press portal link button

Pulse 3d worked on my ps4 elite I dont know but had both and I liked the 3d pulse more
To connect to the Portal:
1. Unplug the dongle from the PS5 .
2. Turn on the Portal and unlock the device.
3. Turn on the headset. You will see the portal see the device.
-If it's your first time connecting, have the headset off, hold the power button until for 8-10 sec, you will hear a beep. Tap the link button on the Portal.
They added the multi talk bluetooth function so u can talk to shorty for 3-4 hours and still be wit your boiz on the game. Thank you sony!

Leap down yeah 3 pulse over the elite any day had both and 3d pulse is still the better one for me elite sucks build Quality sucks sound Quality sucks dobgke conectivity sucks while on the pulse 3d it all worked good never had a problem elite problem with in the first day nope elite aint it its Just not as good as the 3d pulse the only thing missing is Bluetooth but hey I bought it to game not to listen music or make Phone calls so fuck the Bluetooth 3d pulse is the clear winner for me

I have been using pulse elite for a week they are good, had one random disconnect and mic quality is not as good as wired pc38x which is still a fav. I had a couple people say the mic sound is not as clear, might be from the noise rejection

I returned mine. Mine disconnected almost constantly. I’d reset the dongle/re-pair them and they’d work for a couple hours then start again. Did this four different times until I boxed them back up and sent them back. Good riddance to bad trash.
couldnt sony push a patch to fix alot of issues with the elites ( both earbuds and earphones) sounds to me like all the "issues" people have could be solved 100 percent by pushing a firmware update or even a hot patch. thoughts?..
i had the astro a50 gen 3, the elite are much better.. the bass was stronger on the astro but not better.. the witcher 3 with 3d audio and elite you feel like your in the game

I personally prefer the pulse 3d elite more than the original, it’s worth the 50 dollar price difference, the original 3d pulse earcuffs irritates my ears really badly
I swapped my pulse 3d for a pair of Nova 7p's. They are way more comfortable in my opinion.

The pulse explore don't have same drivers as these. The drivers they use are the same technology but are completely different sizes.

I own both the pulse elites and explores, and I don't think it just me but the explores seem to have more bass, and the elites seem to be a tad louder, but I'm not sure I'm going to keep both since I game a lot in vr and the elites are amazing, but I'm really impressed by what Sony has done with their earbuds.
