      you will not realised this type of stuff even when you have 3 or 4 headset. Most will mark it off as a minor, one time issue. You will only realised it when you had 20+ speciments to try lol. That is one think but we also had to factor in that most tech antusiast will not really care about consoles and most console users are shill/airhead... This is Dmitry's first console.
      Edit: Sorry if i talk to much, i am halfdrunk

    Very thorough and detailed. Thank you for putting in the effort and providing feedback on how each product behaved. I like the fact that you guys managed to keep the video short and not fill it with bloat, just to get more runtime.
    Maybe you guys have already made a video about it but I'm just getting into the headphone space in gaming. I would absolutely appreciate a video about Dac/amp and how to use them with phones, PC, consoles, etc.
    Thanks again for this awesome video🙏

    • @krazyfrog
      @krazyfrog 10 หลายเดือนก่อน +27

      Because Bluetooth has massive latency for audio in the region of 100-300ms. And the standard Bluetooth audio profile does not support microphone, so you can't have high quality audio and microphone working at the same time. It needs to use the headset profile, which significantly reduces audio quality. These are limitations of the Bluetooth standard and there isn't much Sony can do about it.

    Sound Blaster G3 works just as well & it's half the price of the G6. Just use the preamp option and theres more power then you'll ever need (unless your using 300 ohm cans). 0:53 Jumping in to say that this is not the case. My own is listed there, and that is NOT what my video does. I show the same legitimate workaround way to connect any Bluetooth audio device to the console that you mentioned, as do 99% of other videos in search. You still have the natural Bluetooth latency so not ideal, but it is equivalent in performance to a native Bluetooth feature. It's also a very widely known feature.
    Please do research properly in the future before throwing shade at other channels by calling them "fake", when you clearly never even clicked on any of them. 👍

    The DAC chip inside the dualsense controller is Realtek ALC655 which outputs 50mW/20ohm. And with most headphones being around that many ohms, give or take, 50mW is plenty for those. However, when it comes to something like the Sennheiser HD600 (which are 300ohm) you need a little bit more juice.

    I have a legit concern. Not entirely sure if it was fully addressed here. I have a brand new wireless headset thst uses a USB-A dongle and I plug it into the front of my PS5. It seems that the wireless signal from the headset to the dongle is interfering with the Bluetooth from the controller to the console. It's not constantly but every few minutes the information sent from my controller will be delayed so much its like I'm holding a button or mashing buttons almost like my character is moving on their own. I never had this issue until I started using the headset.

    Great video by the way, if only you did it a couple months sooner I wouldn't have had to do these tests myself 😅
    Anyway the external mic problem is real, more than half of them won't work well on the PS5 and they'll either be too sensitive or too quiet and adjusting it on the PS5 won't help much. After trying about 7 different mics $30-100 I settled on the Fifine AM8 microphone and it sounds pretty good my party chat agrees. Volume level is just about perfect you can adjust the gain and fine time mic level on the PS5. Only problem is you will have to buy a USB 3.1 or better cable to get it to work as the cable that comes with it won't.

    Not mentioned here is the fact that the PS5, regardless of whether you plug into the controller or a compatible USB DAC, has reduced audio quality (like a compressed mp3) with all wired headsets. I don't know how wireless headsets fare, but I imagine they aren't any better. The controller's headphone amp is also a little noisy if you're using IEMs or something similar. The only way I've found around this is to get audio from the HDMI out instead, which is incredibly irritating. Glad you pointed out the audio latency with non-PCM formats, though, that has annoyed me for years (it's the same on Xbox).

    The overheating on the back of the console was a SERIOUS problem during Evo last year. People had an expensive dongle they had to buy for their controllers because Sony made everyone play on Ps5, and their dongles were getting melted.

    I wonder how different imaging is for gaming headsets as opposed to regular stereo headphones. Since, I don't own a gaming headset, I plug my B&W P9 in the dual sense controller and the sound is great but I wonder if I would get a wider soundstage from a much cheaper pair of gaming gear.

    • @WeAreN1nja
      @WeAreN1nja 10 หลายเดือนก่อน

      If you want imaging and soundstage, gaming headsets are the last thing you want. Astros, Steelseries, and the like are abysmal.
      Get a good pair of headphones and the Soundblaster of your choice (I like the G6 and GC7) and you'll have a substantially better sounding setup.

      The 7p is louder than the Blackshark V2 Pro. It has a volume limiter on by default that you must turn off in the GG software. Once that's turned off the headset is extremely loud. I keep making mine at 70% volume as anything more just hurts my ears after awhile. The others I can keep at 90% without an issue

    I have the black shark v2 pro 2020 and they’re terribly quiet. Volume turned all the way up on the headset and in the PS5’s UI sounds like half volume on any other headset. The annoying thing is that they weren’t like this when I first got them. Happened after an update or something

    Over the years, the only bugs I've run into with the PlayStations and wireless Cloud headsets involve the Cloud Alpha actually. At launch there was a bug with the noise gate, which was resolved by a firmware update pushed out by HyperX. Since then it has now moved into randomly having three times the gain it should have on kind of a coin flip. Putting the console to rest mode and bringing it back out of it may snap it out of it. I've had cloud flights and Cloud 2 wirelesses for years, neither had any issues at all on PS4 or 5. Just the alphas for some reason really hate this thing.

    Loving the Sony Pulse for gaming. For my PC I used the Beyerdynamic DT 770Pro. To solve the lacking of power from any motherboard I’ve ever used, I rely on the Creative G6 Dac. Problem solved. Tried to use the G6 + DT 770 on the PS5, works, but the Pulse is more practical and good enough.

    I've been struggling with the audio volume output for a while now on ps5. My problem is I have a Class D amplifier that I'm using to power a set of bookshelves with, with my pc and Bluetooth from my phone it's great but from the ps5 the output volume is extremely low and I have to max out my amp which isn't good. Funny enough if I plug a 3.5mm to rca cable from the controller to the amp the audio is loud just like my pc. I have even tried audio extractors and it still sucks, so my solution was to use a creative soindblaster Gc7 but I now get an audible hiss from the Gc7. Why sony decided to get rid of optical output I will never understand , my conclusion is they want you tp buy their products.

    the Epos H6Pro connected to the controller has the best mic I've experience on PS5, it's sad that the volume is too quiet and it pinches my head a lot. if microphone is not an issue I recommend Sony's own pulse wireless but don't use it wired, it sounds cheap both on PC and PS5, the wireless on PC is ok but on PS5 it's like a premium headset, incredible audio quality for a sub $100 wireless headset.

You never have to charge them. plug into the handset that is already IN your hands, so the small wire is never in the way. They are so light, you can hardly tell you have them on. But it gets even weirder. Even the PS4 headset is very limited on PS5. I don't get audio profile presets, none of the spatial audio setting on the headphone work. Only volume up/down and mute.
