Sony has made several updates to the software drivers on the PS5 and added an EQ that you can control in the settings, and I will be making a follow up review soon :)
@@907Lopez yes I’d recommend it. I just got mine Sunday and I’ve owned my PS5 for a year and some change. It’s not top shelf over other headsets but if we’re speaking mid tier this is one of the best.
I'd definitely not recommend for the price the best advantage would be battery life already a disadvantage would be the cable being the same as you're controller so you have to charge it interchangeably aside from that: 1. They broadcast everything, you're buddies in game will be able to hear what's being said at you're neighbors dinner table.... 2. They are incompatible with blue tooth no USB stick no wireless, no ps5 no configuration or editing settings which on the ps5 is super limited within itself! I bought my brother some wired steelseries for Half the cost I can scream over his shoulder and no one's going to hear it So I'd suggest putting extra money in for wireless headphones that are worth their salt or go for a cheaper option and plug them into you're controller so you don't have to worry about people in game hearing every time you're dad flips a page on the news paper or you're little brothers conversation with his hamster On the plus side they haven't broken yet which is remarkable from any ps5 accessories. You can turn up and down the volume You can adjust Comms over the game audio and vice verse and mute unmute with a button wish both the button on the headset and the controller worked because I find myself, muting and unmuting frequently so blokes don't have to hear my ladies work politics with me leaving my hands off the controller which can be bad in FPS's In summary much like every other ps5 products it's only worth half of what you you pay in parts, the microphone pics up every noise. No Bluetooth or compatibility with anything but a playstation. The EQ is basic and you can't remap buttons etc. You will need to use the aux with all other devices, it's connection range is about 10 to 15 feet. So it's definitely not my cup of tea and had I payed 1/3rd more I'd get a decent headphone with the ability to be configured properly on a PC once with Bluetooth and a much more preferable way of muting and umuting myself on my controller. In hindsight wouldnt have bought it and that goes for the ps5 too

3D audio works on any headphones (small jack into the controller or usb), you just have to change the audio settings. the pulse 3d headset has the audio mixer built-in 👍
I have the Beyerdynamic dt 990 pro and it doesn't sound anywhere good like these do.. like literally. Even with a dac it sounds bad in terms of 3d audio. :/ which is really really weird
@@SianCKB it could be the case with high Ohm headphones maybe?. But i do know i had to fiddle around with the audio output setting to get it working with my astro a40s. theyre made for ps4 and uses optical audio, which ps5 hasnt got. i have to use the optical out on the tv. but still have to have it set to usb output for the mixer to work (its not supposed to work like that?!). Also you need to have the output to headphones set to ALL audio and then the 3d audio toggle is available. And i think if you are in a party chat it doesnt seem to work either or as well
@@SianCKB hell yeah it is 😄 but again in setting/audio/output and make sure output to headphones is set to all audio. the only annoyance is you have to manually adjust the game/party volume mix, where the pulse headset has buttons for it. Either way 3D audio is pretty damn good, industry standard good 🙂
Yeah but other expensive brands sound trash while using the mic in a PlayStation party to the other party members they complain about it heaps until I used the pulse 3D now it’s amazing
I was impressed with this purchase too. My PS5 version games all sound amazing with them. Honestly, I was really impressed with FIFA 21. It really sounded like I was at the stadium. I've been plenty of times to the stadium I played that Fifa match on and it was basically spot on.
@@razial5745 I've been impressed with this headset and don't have any complaints. Maybe that i couldn't do a personalized EQ but they just added that to a recent update but I've been in the middle of a move since so i haven't had a chance to mess with the EQ.
@@razial5745 Absolutely dreadful is my honest opinion. The treble is too high and it overshadows the bass which in my opinion is too low. You’re better off saving your money and buying a pair of Astro Gaming I’ve been using Astro gaming for years. And the sound quality is just phenomenal. They have a pair for the PS5 the A20 I would recommend same price better headset all around. If you want to spend more the I would recommend the Astro Gaming A50 you have access via an app on your laptop if you have one and you can change the Equaliser to your Desired settings. I’ve been using Astro Headset for a very long time they are comfortable to wear and the battery is phenomenal.

For those who don't know. This 3D Pulse USB also can be connected to your Android phone via a USB to Type C and works greatly but it will look weird having a USB coming out of your phone. Didn't try on an iphone because I don't own one
First off you funny as hell 😂😂 second this my first time visiting your channel, 3 these headphones and the controller alone make you feel like you’re in the game and the immersion is truly amazing
I do get sweaty ears after wearing them for awhile. But it wasn't a major issue. Its still pretty comfy and i can wear them perfectly fine even when wearing glasses. The mic is noticeably worse than my regular earbuds, but not horrible either. The 3d audio is definitely a plus. Overall, i think it's worth the $100 especially if this is your first wireless headset.

I currently run Astro A40 with mixamp on my ps5 and like u said, i needed an adapter so i can use the optical output and get the full potential out of them. Major downfall to those is doesnt support 3D surround sound! Pulse is known for making good, reliable headsets and I'm glad Sony continued with these!
Watched this review looking for a decent headset for my new ps5 and bought one after watching. Subscribed cause of the humor. I got the white one just to match the console and controller but there is an all black version as well. Ive never owned a wireless mic and your review had me sold on getting this. 👍🏻
I've been on the fence about these for a while. Still am but I love this review mainly because this guy is freaking hilarious. Also very informative to know the tempest engine only works through the wireless dongle. I have been using my old pulse headphones plugged into the controller (battery no longer holds a charge) and I was like this doesn't sound any better than what I am used to!! Need to make up my mind before resident evil Village lol.
There's some misinformation here that needs to be corrected Tempest audio engine still works if you're plugged in via Dualsense controller, and any set of headphones can utilize the tempest audio engine given that they're either plugged in directly to the PS5 or via the Dualsense controller. The reason why they may have not sounded so great when he plugged them into the Dualsense is because the headset was running on the controller's power which obviously isn't enough to drive the Pulse 3D to their optimal level of loudness. I hope that clears things up and helps someone out

It sounds so hollow and not clear, like when I tried them on spiderman the sound is very bad, sounds like your listening to music in an empty room with only a tiny speaker! And the room makes it sound echoey, it's hard to put my finger on, when I turn of 3d audio they are ok.

@@ekittykay Its nice, if fits very well on my head, robust but light, the important settings are direct on the left headset piece (Volume, lower chat or game sound, on/off for hearing your voice when chatting, etc.), can charge it with any new USB cable, I feel the 3D audio (but if u turn the audio, & sound-sfx low(-ish), the 3D effect deminishes) got it for Elden Ring, works well there (and on Returnal)
@@ekittykay The 3D audio has 5 pre-settings, which u can test (i felt the waterfall in the testing right in the middle on setting 3, 1-2 it sounded further above me, 4-5 it sounded further under me.. ... And it has also the equaliser, can self set up too ... Imo best console Head set ever, and better than many (much) more expensive head sets out there.. ... if u want s PS5 headset, this is it (and can connect to VR too)

Actually, I've had pretty good battery life on my dualsense. I did turn off a few settings but I'm getting roughly 6 to 7 hrs before i even hit the last bar on my controller. And with the charging station, I'm fully charged after only a few minutes.

PS5 3D Audio is compatible with any stereo-based headsets or earphones. The technology used to create the audio soundscape comes from the PS5, rather than the headphones.
There's no encoding that takes place on the dongle, that's why Tempest works with any headphones. Will it sound as convincing? Probably not. I used 3DAudio (Tempest) with Corsair HS80 though, and it was incredible... I couldn't believe that height was actually distinguishable; the sense of 'space' is stunning. Tried again with some LG Tone wireless buds and the sense of height just wasn't there. Anyway yeah just to clarify in case anybody thought they wouldn't get 3D audio without a Pulse dongle.

I bought these and then returned them the next day. I thought they were extremely uncomfortable although it may be because I have a large head (size 8 hat) and my head may be sensitive to pressure im not sure. The rubber adjustable strap that rest on top of your head bothered me so much I couldn't tell you if the sound or anything is better then the stealth 600s I've been using for years as I could only wear them for a couple minutes before feeling like I was getting a headache. Don't recommend if you have big or sensitive head. Can't comment on the actual sound . I really wanted these to work for me they look really good next to the ps5.
@Gijoel gamer27 I havnt had any complaints or issues with it. It works great. They really sound good when your playing a game that has the 3d audio..not all ps5 games have it,it's a noticeable difference for sure

I have 8bitdo usb adapter 2 that uses Bluetooth Classic and BLE and never noticed input lag or reliability issue between wired and wireless mode. But I noticed its much more reliable and easier to pair than regular Bluetooth. And so covenient to move between Switch, PC and PS5. Only downside I noticed is useless in Nintendo games where you need gyro.
I got the Astro A50 3rd gen and the sound is great, do you think the Pulse 3D headsets would be a real upgrade or rather a downgrade? im pretty sure i also got 3D sound with the astro a50 (at least have tried with Demons Souls), any one with both headsets who can give a solid opinion?
Ud want a switch for noise cancelling and jack is essential. The headband looks like it fit a little too snug but very good build quality for the price. I'd say max out cost on the actual speakers inside the headset. Sits a little high on the head. Dongles do tend to lag a tiny so use great quality for those

I’m returning them there is a echo when they are plugged into a controller , they are uncomfortable as well , there is no fix for the feedback party chat gets when you’re headset is plugged into a controller
great video! I wonder how much do this headphones push into the ears, and how worm are they after playing? I use Koss Porta Pro Classic and they have good sound and I never get problems with my ears.
Ears pads put so much pressure on my ears. Very uncomfortable. Had to replace ear pads with other ears pads on amazon. Sound has changed a little bit but it’s become way more comfortable with the new ear pads.
I bought them y'day. Kinda bummed that i finished miles morales 2 weeks ago. Question : When u have option of choosing 5.1/7.1 dolby instead of headphones in menu , should i choose that or just headphones ?I hope more 3rd party make use of it. As i understand RE8 will take advantage of it ?
Everything is ok until comparison to Audio Technica. Those Pulse's are in average/good category, BUT they aren't God- tier category as Audio Technica for budget headsets.

Actually, I've had pretty good battery life on my dualsense. I did turn off a few settings but I'm getting roughly 6 to 7 hrs before i even hit the last bar on my controller. And with the charging station, I'm fully charged after only a few minutes.
What mind of charging station you got?

@@internetspectator6051 pretty much, yeah. I normally gave it there for like what 10-15 mins and it'll hit the 3rd bar. Not completely charged but it'll be back on 3 bars for sure

I have the A40 TR but got this as it sounded cool and saves me swapping headsets from pc to PS5 all the time and it really does make the sound better
I did the same thing for my PS5. It saves me a ton of time switching my A50s back and forth between the PlayStation and PC.

Hmh, the 3D audio certainly *should* work even when wired. Several places have stated that it works with any wired headphones like that, even Playstation's own blog;

PS5 3D Audio is compatible with any stereo-based headsets or earphones. The technology used to create the audio soundscape comes from the PS5, rather than the headphones.

in wired mode you should still get 3d audio as enable 3d audio for headphones is an option for that purpose

There's no encoding that takes place on the dongle, that's why Tempest works with any headphones. Will it sound as convincing? Probably not. I used 3DAudio (Tempest) with Corsair HS80 though, and it was incredible... I couldn't believe that height was actually distinguishable; the sense of 'space' is stunning. Tried again with some LG Tone wireless buds and the sense of height just wasn't there. Anyway yeah just to clarify in case anybody thought they wouldn't get 3D audio without a Pulse dongle.

I bought these and then returned them the next day. I thought they were extremely uncomfortable although it may be because I have a large head (size 8 hat) and my head may be sensitive to pressure im not sure. The rubber adjustable strap that rest on top of your head bothered me so much I couldn't tell you if the sound or anything is better then the stealth 600s I've been using for years as I could only wear them for a couple minutes before feeling like I was getting a headache. Don't recommend if you have big or sensitive head. Can't comment on the actual sound . I really wanted these to work for me they look really good next to the ps5.

@Gijoel gamer27 I havnt had any complaints or issues with it. It works great. They really sound good when your playing a game that has the 3d audio..not all ps5 games have it,it's a noticeable difference for sure

I just bought a PS5 and it’s supposed to be here tomorrow. I have been eying this headset for a while but figured I’d just use my razer headphones. But seeing this I’m very confident in wanting to buy it when I can.
I used mine on fortnite. All I can say is wow!!!! Crisp sound and you can literally hear the storm from a distance. Love it!!!!!

I mean i have a pair of dt770 for gaming right now which sounds amazing! (It's like your in the game) and you can easily pin point enemies footsteps in shooter games:)

Not sure if the mic works because not a lot of games I personally play on switch require it.
I have 8bitdo usb adapter 2 that uses Bluetooth Classic and BLE and never noticed input lag or reliability issue between wired and wireless mode. But I noticed its much more reliable and easier to pair than regular Bluetooth. And so covenient to move between Switch, PC and PS5. Only downside I noticed is useless in Nintendo games where you need gyro.
Just picked up for 65 quid. So happy with that.

I got the Astro A50 3rd gen and the sound is great, do you think the Pulse 3D headsets would be a real upgrade or rather a downgrade? im pretty sure i also got 3D sound with the astro a50 (at least have tried with Demons Souls), any one with both headsets who can give a solid opinion?
Ud want a switch for noise cancelling and jack is essential. The headband looks like it fit a little too snug but very good build quality for the price. I'd say max out cost on the actual speakers inside the headset. Sits a little high on the head. Dongles do tend to lag a tiny so use great quality for those

They are very comfortable. I can wear them all day no problems
Ears pads put so much pressure on my ears. Very uncomfortable. Had to replace ear pads with other ears pads on amazon. Sound has changed a little bit but it’s become way more comfortable with the new ear pads.
I bought them y'day. Kinda bummed that i finished miles morales 2 weeks ago. Question : When u have option of choosing 5.1/7.1 dolby instead of headphones in menu , should i choose that or just headphones ?I hope more 3rd party make use of it. As i understand RE8 will take advantage of it ?

Those Pulse's are in average/good category, BUT they aren't God- tier category as Audio Technica for budget headsets.
