    I love this bike so much I bought one not received yet out of stock but excited. There is one major problem though for commuters. The battery being in the seat post means anyone can come along just flick the quick release clamp and walk away with the battery £300 plus. There is nothing locking the battery in place. Plus there is no point you can secure with a chain or any kind of lock. This means you would have to take the battery with you. The tube is massive, they should add a locking mechanism or a secure o ring point welded to the tube so you can run a security chain or cable through 👍. The saddle with a security cable is useless as you just take the seat off.

      It’s a folding bike so no reason to be locking it outside.
      I never leave my bike outside 😂 kids literally walking about with grinders in broad daylight is why I got a folding bike that and being able to just jump on the bus or train with the bike folded.
      I have a Brompton bike so it’s a bit smaller and easier to carry or roll round a shop or wherever I need to go. I test rode the e20 at the weekend at a local garden centre and I was really impressed. Lovely looking bike too and really nice ride. I’m really tempted to grab one for myself. I don’t need an electric bike but really want one now.

    • @jezlawrence720

      Why can't you lock it through the triangular section and just take the seat post?

    Only 110km in so far, but loving mine. Also blue, rides well as Eilis states size matters with rubber. Leccy power is great, balance spot on and I don’t look like I’m riding a clown bike (it’s not too small and I’m 6’2”!) Love how it looks, almost BMX like if you squint.
    No issues on hills and frankly I’m not changing gears in it, only assist levels. Still rides well on no assistance too and I give it a decent range of challenges. Has a nice walk assist mode for a little boost from the lights if you need, but gets a move on happily enough.
    Only gripe so far - mine wears insulating tape where it’s likely to mark on the rear of the frame (shown in some of the shots) where the handlebars can scratch - same on the bars. Will protect it more permanently soon, but too busy enjoying it at present.

    • @FridgetoPantry
      @FridgetoPantry ปีที่แล้ว +4

      Yes, I’m that guy, back to report on 800km. Love the bike still, but it’s not been flawless, a slightly irritating creaking has persisted from the front forks, then at 600km the plastic pedals cried enough, which I have now replaced with excellent metal Japanese made folders from Amazon - a massive improvement. To counter this weight increase the kick stand worked itself loose/ and has been taken off before it falls off. Design flaw, it’s not held in well on the frame. Due a service soon and under warranty so I’ll report back. The flip side is that it’s better to ride with more solid pedals, the motor/ battery/ controller have been flawless and it continues to make my other bikes redundant, I just enjoy bombing around on this thing. Buy one, swap out the pedals and enjoy it.

    I hope here in the UK we adopt cycling more and more as a form of everyday transport, We seem to be a bit snotty towards cycling in this country. We treat cyclists as a hinderance and look down on them as if they're losers even when they are just riding in a cycle lane not bothering anyone else.
    I nearly bought one of these for commuting, I really like it but in the end opted for a mountain bike as that offers more flexibility on where you can ride.

    "It's just so usable, you really can take this anywhere and everywhere" - well i doubt you can, it's folding measures are huge, I would say you can transport it better on a train when not folded (or only the steering folded down), but only if there are not many people on the train. Furthermore it weighs 17,5 kg, this is pretty heavy for a "folding bike". The Brompton (non-electric) and its copy, the Dahon curl i4 are the only usable folding bikes, you can really take everywhere, even on a bus or under the table in a cafe.

    This is identical to the Mycle Compact, your last 'fave rave'. Only the Mycle is cheaper. There seems to be a plethora of these identical bikes coming out now from different 'UK Manafacturers'. These films feel more like advertorials now - I wish you as a channel would be more upfront as it seems less than credible.

    • @YTBraN

      Does seem like the manufacturer could have sponsored. Especially as Electroheads are selling it themselves now.

    • @Electroheads
      @Electroheads  ปีที่แล้ว +7

      Hi Jason - yes it uses the same frame as the Mycle, which we also love. We're in support of British-made e-bikes that are safe and good value, that's our only agenda. Estarli didn't pay us any money to make this video - we funded the production of it ourselves. I hope that's up front enough for you!

      100% correct. These bikes in terms of the frame and components all come from the same Chinese factories, just with different branding and paintjobs.

    • @ianwynne5483
      @ianwynne5483 ปีที่แล้ว +3

      So if its the same frame as the Mycle, it must be Chinese made, presumably therefore all the other components are Chinese made -are these the same as Mycle ? Is it then more accurate to say you are supporting UK bicycle assembly rather than manufacture? Also having this in your shop does look like bias in the face of increased price for pretty much the same bike.

    We purchased this Vivi 27.5” electric bike and a Tentaquil 26” electric bike for our 13 and 14 year olds. th-cam.com/users/postUgkxUiL0GnyDjP32RJdd660sP8mZk4CRLTCJ The Vivi was much easier to put together. With the Vivi, there was a video link to assist with assembly which made the process easier to follow (we did put the handlebars on upside down, but it was a quick and easy fix). With the Tentaquil, the assembly was not as simple to follow, but after we messaged the company for an assembly video, it was easier and they did respond quickly. The other major differences were that the Vivi has a grip throttle on the right handle (like a motorcycle) and the Tentaquil has a push throttle that you use your thumb to activate. The monitors were also different, so if you’re looking for something specific in terms of changing the bikes functions, pay attention to what the monitor offers. We were really impressed with the overall quality and functionality of both bikes, but if you’re looking for more power and an easier assembly, definitely go with the Vivi!

    I'm so torn between getting a full sized ebike or a foldable. The main issue I have is having to secure a ebile outside a shop for instance whereas you can (within reason) take a folding back in a shop (supermarket most likely).

    • @IshmaelSimpson
      @IshmaelSimpson ปีที่แล้ว +2

      I have the E28.8. It's a great bike (although mine has an issue with the motor that Estarli are looking into), and I'm tempted to get the E20.8. It would be my first folding bike should I decide to get one, and the differences aren't that drastic. The E28.8 is 4.5kg lighter, has 5k more distance and doesn't fold. With folding bikes, you never really have to worry about it being stolen as you can bring it anywhere. I don't lock my E28.8 up and always bring it inside, but if I wanted to drive to the coast and go for a long cycle, it would be much easier with the E20 folding bike. It depends on what your use cases are. :-)

    I thought you said low budget that's not low budget I call under £700:00 low budget it doesn't look that strong my last e bike was £650 with a proper removable battery and I certainly had my moneys worth out of it Until some idiot crashed into me the bike was a right off but the guy admitted it was his fault and he did pay me the full price plus money to get to and from work for one month by taxis he arranged to meet me at his bank the same day he withdrew the cash handed it to me I luckily was only badly bruise my new bike the same make and model will be ready for pick up at the end of this month it's a full size twenty six inch wheels with the proper style handle bars I don't like the straight style on your bike with just the battery totally removable without have to remove the seat each time also I hate such tiny wheels looks like a kids bike with such small wheels

    Why buying a bike with such small wheels? Why no a normal Dutch electric bike, that also rides comfortable when only using man power.

    This seems like a rip off of the Fiido D21. For the price of this bike you're better off going with the original, which is a couple of hundred quid cheaper.

      It’s not really though is it! It’s like saying the Mazda MX-30 is the same as the MG ZS. Both electric SUVs, but different. Quality of components and frame structure is an important consideration and even with a quick glance you can see they’re different.

      Bikes like the Estarli are using Dahon technology, which has been refined over decades, and far predates Fiido.

      I certainly don't think the good folks at Fiido would claim they invented the folding e-bike! They have the same spec motor but with different frames. So it's down to which aesthetic you prefer, and whether you want to pay a little bit extra for something made in the UK.
      We're itching to test out the D21, so hopefully it'll be on the channel soon.

      Not only is the Fiido D21 cheaper, it also has a much bigger battery and range while weighing the same as this ebike.
