My Dad and I were connected through music. As a kid I remember driving through the Colorado mountains with the top off his '69 Bronco listening to Willie, and singing Blue Skies and on The Road Again at the top of our lungs. My husband and I fell in love in New Mexico in the '70's. Thank you, Kris Kristofferson, for being the background music. It doesn't get better than that.
I like the version of it that they performed with the other two “highwaymen” Waylon and Willie. It was a bit slower and more down beat? If that makes sense. That version of this song really gets to me. It’s got more regret and a touch of sadness to it. Brings to mind that feeling we all get when we think about all the coulda shoulda wouldas in our lives. Plus, I love me some Johnny Cash but Kris sings this song so much better. Especially later in life when his voice got aged a bit

Johnny's kind words to Kris, and Kris's response...PRICELESS! Of all the hundreds of Johnny songs I love, this is the one I love the most. It just says it all!
At Christmas lunch 20 year back, this classic started. My father looked me in the eyes and said "This is you son." It was, in its special way, one of the most beautiful moments of my life. Dad is 80 now, November 11th at 11am, my time of birth, I complete the 53rd year of life. It probably comes across as a little odd without the back story. But my folks raised a good, kind, compassionate and loving citizen of our precious planet. This song is a major signpost of my life and will always bring a something special til the second I draw my final breath.
One of the best songs ever. Each sunday morning is wonderful to me. The first time I listened to it was Johnny Cash's cover. I listened later Kris Kristofferson's original version. Wow ! One of the greatest songwriters of all time! To be honest, I am torn between him and Leonard Cohen, who talks much about the same topics Kristofferson does. Cohen does it more cryptic and metaphorical, while Kris does it in a simple, yet eloquent way that touches you deeply…
Highwaymen ... I am Austrian, but I love them, their music, ... and I am proud to say, I met Johnny Cash in real life 35 years ago.... a highlight in my life
This was my hubby Alan's favourite song. He loved country music, JC, KK, Tammy Wynette, Waylon Jennings, The Highwaymen. Played this song at Alan's funeral service 3 years ago. Even now it brings tears. JC & KK - such talent, raw honesty, and passion. Music to them is not a job, it's life itself

RIP Chris
He’s a total guitar playing badass. This is top notch!
It doesn't get any better than this, every word in this song was lived by Kris, that's why and how he came to write it so well because he lived this song , . He like others were what country music is all about. Well done Kris
Oh my God I haven't heard this for years and now I have Goosebumps and I'm almost crying. I miss Johnny so much and now Kris is back singing with him again
Great singers!! Absolutely beautiful!!!
Ouvindo atentamente essas duas lendas da música country dia 09/10/2024
One of the greatest songwriters of all time! To be honest, I am torn between him and Leonard Cohen, who talks much about the same topics Kristofferson does. Cohen does it more cryptic and metaphorical, while Kris does it in a simple, yet eloquent way that touches you deeply…
Brillant.can relate
I'd agree with you Josua Kullen , what about Dylan ? Maybe not the best singer but a good songwriter.
@@mamd7032 I agree too and think Bob Dylan is also one of the best as well
Kris has said before that he wants the first 3 lines of Cohen's Bird on the wire on his gravestone.
You put this so well!
❤ 😢😢 slowly, good country music is coming to an end. Thanks Kris!
So beautiful. Love them as two grandfathers of mine.
You bet I'm listening friend. How how I miss Johnny and now Kris.
Highwaymen ... I am Austrian, but I love them, their music, ... and I am proud to say, I met Johnny Cash in real life 35 years ago.... a highlight in my life
Hey, how are you doing?

@@MaxMustermann-z9r Where are you from?

Johnny&Kris in Heaven
Thanks for Music🙏
Listening from the Mountains in Norway ❤
This was my hubby Alan's favourite song. He loved country music, JC, KK, Tammy Wynette, Waylon Jennings, The Highwaymen. Played this song at Alan's funeral service 3 years ago. Even now it brings tears. JC & KK - such talent, raw honesty, and passion. Music to them is not a job, it's life itself
These are two of my most favorite "old school" artists and songwriters. Great collaboration.
Hello Sandra, how are you doing?
