I've taken off my pride(the original sin) and in humility I've put on the black. I'm in mourning for all people everywhere including myself.. That's my life now.
Johnny Cash is a stronger man then myself. He wrote "each week we lose a hundred fine young men," sang it out loud and didn't shed a tear. You could tell when he sang it though, it really hurt him.

The feeling this song invokes
The importance of the message ....pure art
The legend himself. 🔥😎👏
Cash , God broke the mold , once he was born . Truly one of a kind .
Just listened to this on my house speakers for the very first time. Chills the whole way thru. Words do no justice to Johnnys song writing and voice.
I wish he was here today, just to know what he'd think about this world and what he'd have to say about it.
Wherever you are, thank you for having existed, Johnny.
I'm 40 and hope to some day have the fortitude that this man had!
Johnny Cash was a Goth, Change my mind.
Johnny was THE man
The One and Only Johnny Cash!!!!!!
Love this song, love this man. He lived the words he sang and is sorely missed.
"Johnny was like the Northern Star...you could guide your boat by his light."--B Dylan.
One of America's greatest artists ever...deeply missed now & forever.
He is one of the most important showmen who ever lived.
His music is so simple yet so profound
Quite a profound song, by a country music icon. Rest in peace, Johnny Cash.
Hello Dwayne how are you doing today dear I hope all is well with you and your family? Have a nice day.
Il suono della chitarra e meraviglioso...😊😍🎶🎸🎶💘💔🙏
Low key one of the greatest song ever written. Still very relevant today.
brings tears still this many years later.... true legend.
Wow this song brought me to tears. Heartfelt.
This Man was Hip Hop before Hip hop LOL FACTS
A not so perfect human being is the messenger. Who else could really understand the miseries of the human condition. And he, Jonnny Cash, creates the magic and delivers the message. Thank you, Mr. Cash.
LYRİCS
Well, you wonder why I always dress in black
Why you never see bright colors on my back
And why does my appearance seem to have a somber tone
Well, there's a reason for the things that I have on
I wear the black for the poor and the beaten down
Living in the hopeless, hungry side of town
I wear it for the prisoner who has long paid for his crime
But is there because he's a victim of the time
I wear the black for those who've never read
Or listened to the words that Jesus said
About the road to happiness through love and charity
Why, you'd think He's talking straight to you and me
Well, we're doing mighty fine, I do suppose
In our streak of lightning cars and fancy clothes
But just so we're reminded of the ones who are held back
Up front there ought to be a man in black
I wear it for the sick and lonely old
For the reckless ones whose bad trip left them cold
I wear the black in mourning for the lives that could have been
Each week we lose a hundred fine young men
And I wear it for the thousands who have died
Believing that the Lord was on their side
I wear it for another hundred thousand who have died
Believing that we all were on their side
Well, there's things that never will be right I know
And things need changing everywhere you go
But 'til we start to make a move to make a few things right
You'll never see me wear a suit of white
Ah, I'd love to wear a rainbow every day
And tell the world that everything's okay
But I'll try to carry off a little darkness on my back
'Til things are brighter, I'm the Man In Black
Johnny Cash is the GOAT
Rest in peace Mr Johnny Cash, today September 12, 2023 I commemorate your death anniversary, you will live on in our souls, we remember you with great respect.
I'm a former musician.
I can't begin to explain how I came back to the Lord but I will say this much, I wear the black.
Figuratively, physically and spiritually.
I've taken off my pride(the original sin) and in humility I've put on the black.
I'm in mourning for all people everywhere including myself..
That's my life now.
Godbless
He was always looking at the back mirror, not forgetting those behind. Rest in peace!
We miss you, Johnny!!! Today more than ever!! 😍🌺😍
Johnny Cash is a stronger man then myself. He wrote "each week we lose a hundred fine young men," sang it out loud and didn't shed a tear. You could tell when he sang it though, it really hurt him.
I have started to listen to a lot of Johnny Cash lately, my dad loved him so much. I was a punk ass kid didn’t want to listen to the music he liked because I was prideful and me and my dad didn’t see eye to eye. Now that he is gone, music and songs like this have given me a lot of insight to the old man. Only now do I realize how much I was like him. Love you dad.
The first thing my mother ever bought with the money she earned working after school was a Johnny Cash album.
Thanks John for giving it to us straight
Makes me cry every time I hear it. Miss ya brother Johnny.
This is what it's like to see and hear history being made.
❤. Rest In Peace 🕊️🕊️ Johnny Cash ❤
Back when you could be both a liberal reformer and a red-blooded American patriot
well said, because he was both of those and deeply religious as well. Not sure many today can integrate all three of those.
Still can
Still can, and still many are

Nobody is more awesome than the Cash man. Nobody ever.
The man in black
Soooo Love this
Why can't we have more like him ? 2021 and this song is still relevant
Got shivers at 2:23. Hard to believe he’s gone 17 years.
I always get chills listening to hurt from Johnny, I don't know if it's that I know he passed away within 6 months of him writing it or what, but when I'm actually paying attention to the video and singing along to the song I always get the chills at the end of the song!
