I'm fairly new to Hearthstone, and I think I speak for a lot of viewers when I say I would like to see these teachings happen more regularly than just Tuesdays. Just an idea.
im a novice player i know that, but i think that trump made a mistake not killing the questing adventurer with holy nova+gnomish inventor at min 32:19 he could get a card too with the northshire cleric..
Trump uploaded this video to encourage everyone who is not doing as good as he is, that there is a bit of luck involved in Arena and Hearthstone overall, and even the pros don't finish with 7 and above wins even with good decks.
at 24:50 why not play argus on the sunfuy and light spawn and use the heroability and sunfury for his lord of the arena?
One of many good options at 24:50. My question would be: Why not Temple Enforcer the Yeti, then Argus the Yeti and Enforcer (5/9 and 7/7, both with taunt). Yeti survives fight with LOTA and remains out of Consecrate range, Sunfury survives Recruit.

Some questions from a newbie... At 4:11, why does he pick the yeti? I would've picked the healer, with the intentions of hopefully being able to combo it with the northshire cleric. Is that not the correct choice? Maybe it is because massively overvalue clerics? In my priest deck, I almost feel like cleric is the main card which I choose the other cards around. In fact, I even use Silverback Patriarch which I just heard trump call a terrible card. But I have had a few games against opponents where I manage to open turn 1 cleric, turn 2 coin silverback patriarch, turn 3 heal for card draw, Turn 4 senjin shield master and then healing orgy. Seems pretty sweet to me!

Deck was predicted to go 12. Result was 1-3. RNG and to a certain extent randomness at matchmaking are factors beyond our control, I guess....
Yeah, the priest class is a pain. its my favorite class concept, healing minions and what not but too often do you end up with good cards in hand that are not applicable to the situation and therefore you cannot make good plays simply because you are playing priest. Its a real bummer.

I tried playing Priest in arena recently and I believe I went 2-3 or 3-3. It's a hard class to play for arena. I'm never taking it again lol.

Made 2 priest arena runs a few days back, both times I got a legendary... the first one managed to get to 4 wins which was pretty disappointing considering the value cards I had, though it lacked shadow word of pains. The 2nd one I was sure was a lot better, 2 each s/w pains and death, a holy nova, cairn bloodhoof and other good stuffs only lacking p/w shield but I only manage to get 1-3 which was heart-breaking.. staying away from priests in arena for now... T_T
I think they've done something to priest cause my last two runs have been 0-3 and 1-3
No worries, my priests fail in the arena as well. Cant actualy remember losing to one either.
Just can't get my head around this game. First time I ever played Arena as a Priest I recorded 8 wins with an average deck. A few days ago I draft Onyxia AND Ysera as Priest and only manage 2 wins..

with priest it seems like it is all about the early to midgame
if that part of your deck is strong you can do well if it is below average or even just average it can just crumble immediatly

I like how these opponents are "unusually strong". are you kidding me? Every single person i have ever played against in arena is at least as good as they are. If these are 'unusually strong' opponents, then he must get cakewalk opponents in the low arena.

Localpref416 Eh, that's fair i suppose, but i'd still be surprised. Even for the first match in arena i'm against people with good decks (legendaries and key core cards [consecrate, flamestrike, etc.] the vast majority of the time.)

There is a bug currently in arena matching. You might be facing decks doing much better than yours because of it.
omg... you should have northshire cleric -> holy nova (taunt dies) -> gnome kills questing adventurer! that made me cringe so hard.

why are 2 mana drops so important for priest???
Most classes have a hero ability can do something on turn if they fail to get a 2 mana card. The priest is the only class that often finds themselves doing nothing since you're at full health so early so healing is useless (minions are also low health and unlikely to survive any combat, if they're damaged at all so soon).
Doing nothing on turn 2 can really set you behind if the opponent plays something. They will always have initiative for attacking and can choose what to attack, and they will attack in ways that are best in their favor (e.g. losing the least amount of stuff). This builds advantage over time and makes it hard for you to mount a come back.

Nah, pretty sure Trump can play all classes very well. As to Priest's strenght: My first (and to this day only) 12-win-draft was with Priest, even if that doesn't mean much. Also, Priest is actually the class Trump has the highest winrate with! (Link: local.se/trumpstats.pl)

Priest generally isn't great in arena. And his hero power is next to useless if you don't have the cards to make use of it.

I can’t believe the power creep this game has gone through. Trump was right in his assessments of these cards but they are wildly incorrect in 2022.

I wish there was a guarantee to get a choice of 1 Legendary each Arena, as it would give people the option to test them out and see which one they should be working towards crafting first hand. I realise this could be incredibly unbalanced, as some people would get crappy legendaries like Manastorm, and others would get Cairne or Rag for example, but still, it may be a fun concept to try out :)
its kinda annoying these days to play arena, soo many legend cards for other ppl, you get ride of one and next turn comes the other one :s

I'm surprised Trump thought this was a 12 win deck, especially with cards like Magma Rager (gets killed by anything), 3 Faerie Dragons (no synergy with any Priest cards or abilities past the Temple Enforcer) and Shadowform (personal dislike), yet no Power World: Shields in there.
I agree Faerie Dragon is a good card, but it's definitely weaker in a Priest deck given the hero ability and the numerous buff spells available.
I'm surprised the deck didn't go at least 6 wins, but 12 is pushing it.
Honestly 10 minutes in I wonder why it fails.... then I see the first opponent is a mage.

Unusually strong opponents for the given win-loss ratios he was matched with. Also some of the matches had rather bad draws.

I literally drew the best shaman deck I have seen since playing in November. I've never got 12 yet but I don't play that much anyways, a couple 11s then failing against final boss. Anyways, left it sit there at 0 for few days, logged in this morning and tried, literally fought the most bullshit druid, pally, pally ever lol. Everything I did or countered, they topdecked or had just the right cards to counter to bounce back or 2-3 for 1 while I didn't get any of the cards that I needed. So lame! Wish I could show it, played as best as I could but still went 0-3 :(.
The best shaman deck would never go 0-3!

lkjkhfggd lol best one I have seen! for my arena! 3 axe, only 1 hex, 2 fire elementals, 2 earth, 1 rag, 2 forked lightning, 2 rockbiter and a lightning bolt followed by some early and mid range creatures like faerie dragon, loot hoarder, harvest golems, yetis and 1 sea giant! Some other stuff too, it was pretty decent imo.

Honestly I don't see how you could have lost 3 in a row with a deck like that. You really should have recorded it. Though, I don't really like Earth elementals, they're too risky to play cuz if they get removed you're screwed since the next turn the overload is too much.

Yes, i say the game has reached a state where all the people who just want to play for fun has quit & its only the hardcore willing players that are left. Seriously i only run into people with some sick custom deck in ranked & even Arena its somehow only people who can magically pull a theme deck from random cards.
This game could really use a "normal person" AI you could play against so i dont end up seeing 3x golden legendary Ysera all the time (pesky faceless manipulators).

Skipping Inner Fire and Divine Spirit that easily? I find your lack of faith disturbing!
Mogushan Warden (4) + Divine Spirit (2) + Inner Fire (1) == 14/14 minion for 7 mana, or a 13/7 buff for 3 mana! A game ender against 28 hp enemy in 2 moves (if he has no taunt/silence/transform in these 2 moves).
Or a 12/7 buff for Gurubashi Berserker for 3 mana. Imagine what it can do! Even a single Inner Fire (1) will make it 7/7 with an ability to gain +3 attack every move.
Why skipping all this goodness?

You overrate the potential too much. Such cards and combos (not that you are likely to get them anyway in arena) are subject to silence and efficient removal cards such as polymorph and assassinate. Then you would be at a card disadvantage due to the amount of buffs used on a single card and end up losing the game. Good strategy, just not in arena.
I would imagine it's something to do with the fact that picking Mogu'shan Warden is picking a subpar card and outside of the situation that you highlighted is relatively weak. It also involves investing 2 additional cards into the Mogu'shan which makes it INCREDIBLY vulnerable to silence and immediately makes you lose your investment. There are other cards that can screw over the buff the Mogu'shan warden for example Shadow Word Death or Shadow Word Pain initally. Also your Warden could then get mind controlled via Mind Control Tech or Sylvanas.
Inner Fire and Divine Spirit are also relatively weak cards otherwise and you cannot guarantee that you will draw them and Mogu'shan Warden at the same time.
You also upon picking Mogu'shan in Arena cannot guarantee that you will get the Inner Fire and Divine Spirit. Why would you pick a normally bad card which when combo'd is good when you can just pick a good card that is good on it's own and perhaps even better with other cards. The Dark Iron Dwarf is a good example having good stats and is even better with other minions.
tl;dr : It's weak to silence and other cards that insta'kill it as well as relying on you picking weak cards when there are better cards on their own.
Polymorph = 1 card, 4 mana. Inner Fire = 1 card, 1 mana. Cry, really?
However if it's an owl, I would cry, yes. And the owl would lowl.
it can easily be silenced and putting buffs on one minion is very dangerous because you are investing a lot of cards on minions that can be easily dealt with

Oh, hi you must be new, Priest is considered the one of the weakest class in both constructed and arena.
But Trump can accommodate and get a Priest deck pretty high, unfortunately the opponents he faced were really really strong.

Tix4ever In constructed it's a similar story, among the weakest classes in the current midrange meta, can't deal with 4 attack minions, can't really support aggro, too slow get going. They just seem to be missing some tool, some combination to combat the current popular net decks. But Priest decks tend to be the best gimmick decks, it's certainly fun to mess around with those though :D

I was wondering if it's my screen or my resolution maybe, I dunno, I feel like if they tested this new feature they surely would of discovered this problem so I can only think they don't give a shit. I can't change my resolution so I guess I'm beat.
Yeah, my screen is 1024x600 (small craptop), and the only way to not get the videos covered by the white bar is to open TH-cam in a Chrome App window. Sadly, that means no address bar and no tabs, but at least I can watch stuff.
Our resolutions must be obscure because no one else seems to care about this. Usually people are starting an army by now.
Since I haven't seen bob and his followers yet, I'm kinda' worried. XD
This is why I'm getting ready to give up on hearthstone. Arena seems to not be worth it anymore, because everyone is starting to get good at the game, and that means that no matter how sound your reasoning behind building your deck, the amount of wins that you get will come down to a crapshoot. That's not to mention that Trump got a legendary, an epic, and overall a well drafted deck that was well above the average offers in arena, yet STILL only getting 1 win while playing very solidly. I've only played 4 arenas, so I know that my experience may not be over a long enough time, but the game has shit on me with my drafts, giving both my warrior decks 0 weapons and nearly no other good class cards like frothing berserker or slams or cruel taskmasters. My other two runs, a priest and a paladin, turned out nearly the same way, no consecrates, blessing of kings, truesilvers, argent protectors, holy novas, temple enforcers, ect., as well as i still have yet to be offered a single epic, let alone legendary. sorry for the rant but the game has frustrated me with the lack good cards that's been offered and the fact that myy gold has been constantly depleted because of this. And now that Ive played about 120-150 games the only people that I get matched up with anymore in ranked or casual are people with decks filled to the brim with legendaries and epics that I can't possibly compete with.

FlamingOverlord More 2 and 3 drops. He lost 2 of his 3 games because I had a slow opening with 5+ drops in his hand. If you see in the beginning his curve is almost a plateau; it should have been shifted much further to the left with good 1-3 drops.

Priest is lowest win rate on hearthstats, and this is second time in recent history (youtube vids not streaming) where Trump has done really poorly with priest. Can we all agree that priest is probably worst arena class of all?
