I actually saw this film when it premiered at C2E2. I'm not going to say that it's a great film, but I found myself enjoying it far more than I thought I would. I'm glad it's finally getting an NC review.
One of the things I find strangest about this movie is how if you listen really closely during the few physically comedic moments, you can hear the cartoony Scooby-Doo sound effects, but they're SO quiet. Was not expecting the Red Dwarf reference in the middle. You are a total, total... a word is yet to be invented to describe how totally whatever-it-is you are, but you are one. And a total, total one at that.
I bought this on DVD last year. I only watched it two times. One question, does every new Scooby-Doo property ignore, A Pup Named Scooby-Doo with the introduction of how the characters met?
I was the only one who liked the film, when I saw the title I looked, I had a feeling that I always wanted a film about these girls and the interaction between them, but I did not know about it. I was glad to see him. And the film is strange in a good way, it is impossible to guess what will happen next, unlike ordinary films for children. This is a good and interesting movie for children.
Is anyone else questioning why Velma starts a Video Call by berating Dephne by saying "Aliens did not mess with that theme park Daphne"... seriously, look at the time on the computer, she says that in the first 3 seconds of the Video Call.
If you weren't going to have the full gang why not just have Shaggy and Scooby. Like it would make sense why it would take them so long to figure it out.

@@arsenelupin9697 It's more likely the reason is "how many profitable, nostalgic girls' IPs do we have? Eh, we can just do a spinoff with the girls from Scooby-Doo."
@@KeybladeMasterAndy That's part of it as well, but if you can't market it towards the "girl power" crowd, them simply being nostalgic characters, won't be enough to get the project greenlit.
I still want a Scooby-Doo meets Leatherface. It makes the most sense since they both came out roughly around the same time period.
Leatherface is 50?!
Something that would actually be scary
1:34 how dare you shaggy has great hips
This is where people drunk dial this movie after watching the Velma show and say.
“You know what babe. You’re not as bad as I thought.”
"She's the reason why this goddamn song exist!"
😆😆😆😆
Daphne and Velma: I'm the worst Scooby Doo property ever.
Velma: Hold my beer.
Daphne and Velma secretly being the villains would be a brilliant plot twist!
@Channel Awesome 5:32 Nedley Elizabeth Dad Donkey. That really cracked me up. Keep up the good work on making nostalgia critic videos. They are really amazing.
14:22 was not expecting a Craig Charles clip
I know the critic has made Red Dwarf references before but this one, I actually said it literally before that clip came on 😂😂
Long time Scooby doo fan, love almost everything Scooby Doo and this was one of the VERY, VERY FEW movies I didn't like. It was free on Hulu at one point and I didn't even finish it. I couldn't it was so bad.
Likewise. I will watch any scooby Doo movie, but this one I never got around too because I thought it was a joke.
I think you missed out, it was actually pretty good.
@@jadedheartsz Maybe I did, but I was cringing so many times and pausing the movie I just said screw it and stopped. Maybe I'll give it another chance in the future, but for now I'm good.
I don't know, this seemed pretty solid compared to other Scooby Doo movies.
@@chadjones967 It is solid! This movie is exactly what it says it is and succeeds in what it wants to be. I just think it's very cringey in a lot of ways. Now you want a Scooby Doo movie that's not solid and is a failure entirely? Watch Return to Zombie Island.
I know other people are saying it and others have likely said it in the past, but you really need to check out the Mystery Incorporated show. It's solid throughout but gets better as it goes. The best Scooby has ever been.
Hello,Doug! Just got done watching JURASSIC PARK. Still my favorite movie of all time!
Still a classic!
I actually remember when this came out. I was 15 years old. I thought that was the most ridiculous thing I've ever seen
I’m a long time scooby Doo fan and I didn’t even bother to watch this one since I thought it was a joke.
I thought, my 8 year old self would have enjoyed it, but I don't
@@patax144 You were smart.
insert the "me still thinking 2015 was like 2 years ago," meme here.
"I actually remember when this came out", I beat you do considering it hasn't even been 4 years since the movie came out!
That Red Dwarf clip made me smile knowing that Doug appreciates Red Dwarfs unique style of humour
Okay everyone...say it with me now..."THIS WAS AT LEAST BETTER THAN "VELMA"!!!!!!!"
Dirt is better than Velma
At this point I think any scooby doo thing was better than Velma.
5:31 - The "name, name, name, DONKEY!!!" joke being used without the need to reference it back to 2004 shows how SHREK IS LOVE, SHREK IS LIFE
This is better than the Velma show
Omg I didn’t know Arwin from Suite Life of Zack & Cody was in this?!?….to be fair I wouldn’t have known either way, but still that man is AWESOME! Glad to know he makes things like this still kinda funny, all from him! 😆🙌
His Scooby-Doo Reviews are always the best!
Agreed I always look forward to the October reviews
@@AndreNitroX Same
Don't forget about Tom & Jerry!
@@devilbob Still haven't seen it
Still better than HBO-Max's VELMA.
A new episode of Nostalgia Critic on my 30th birthday (HAPPY BDAY TO ME!!)? Best. Present. Ever!
Happy 30th Birthday!!!
Happy Birthday 🥳🎉
happy b-day!
It's funny how Daphne is known for being a believer of the supernatural and aliens in this one, when Fred was the one who believed in outlandish things in A Pup Named Scooby Doo.
Man of culture here.
It's like they knew they had to use them but at the same time they didn't want them to be noticeable. Like what xD
Her being into paranormal makes perfect sense. In the zombie movie she has a series going around hunting down the paranormal.
I really appreciated the Red Dwarf reference!💕 any chance you guys could do a video or 9 on that show? Love your work! I didn't know about this spinoff and appreciate the odd corners of pop culture you bring to my attention. Please bring Red Dwarf to other people's attention!🖖
"Though in a bizarre twist, there's no Scooby Doo." Then what's the point?
17:20
Plankton: “ I knew I should’ve gotten the turbo”
Some films I'd love to see reviewed by Doug is the Ben 10 films.
There’s only one of them
Alex Winter(Bill from Bill and Ted) directed the first one
Ben 10 has movies are there live action or animated .
@@ninjanibba4259 Actually there’s 2 live action ones
@@BlueBlazeKing like I said
There’s only ONE of them
16:11: I just watched the Mandela Catalogue a few minutes ago and was terrified. Why do I need to be reminded of it again?!
You know what would make a great video for mid march. Nosferatu. Why? Because the movie was released March 15th 1922, 100 years ago. Now sure March 15th 2022 is a tuesday but still
17:14 Specially those IKEA ceiling lamps in the background! They didn't even gave them a little twist of they wouldn't be so obvious.
Still a million times better than the new Velma show.
08:11 Gotta love that small fake-out before the commercial break. XD
I am impressed with how fair and balanced this review was.
All of the jokes and references in this episode had me rolling! 😂
You should do Look Who’s Talking
8:40
“Maybe you want a home cooked favorite but don’t wanna go to the store”
Then you COOK your own food at HOME, like normal person! You know? The reason we buy GROCERIES!
Let the man rest he’s just reading the sponsorship
Was not expecting the Red Dwarf reference in the middle. You are a total, total... a word is yet to be invented to describe how totally whatever-it-is you are, but you are one. And a total, total one at that.
Smee...Smee Heee
This honestly made the movie look pretty good, especially cause I never saw this
3:45 That poor muffin... never eaten...never enjoyed... 🥺
10:50 she..... just killed a sentient robot.
is that, like, half-murder? whatever it is, it's kind of disturbing. and it's played for a fricking joke!
I bought this on DVD last year. I only watched it two times. One question, does every new Scooby-Doo property ignore, A Pup Named Scooby-Doo with the introduction of how the characters met?
If they didn’t there’d be a lot more better Scooby movies…maybe…better than THIS at least.
Yeah, pretty much
Actually the Scoob movie covers that. Not well but it tried.
18:20= "HA HA, NO WE WON'T!" Cracks me up lol
I was the only one who liked the film, when I saw the title I looked, I had a feeling that I always wanted a film about these girls and the interaction between them, but I did not know about it. I was glad to see him. And the film is strange in a good way, it is impossible to guess what will happen next, unlike ordinary films for children. This is a good and interesting movie for children.
I love this film so much.
16:55 It's Mark Beaks and the Waddle Cloud all over again.
Daphne and Velma>Velma
Is anyone else questioning why Velma starts a Video Call by berating Dephne by saying "Aliens did not mess with that theme park Daphne"... seriously, look at the time on the computer, she says that in the first 3 seconds of the Video Call.
Who's here after seeing the most hated Scooby-Doo incarnation of all time? "This title minus Daphne and"?
Still better than Mindy Kaling's 'Velma'
I wonder if this was always a Scooby-Doo related project or it just had Velma and Daphne slapped in at the last minute?
If you weren't going to have the full gang why not just have Shaggy and Scooby. Like it would make sense why it would take them so long to figure it out.
I mean, they kinda did that already in Shaggy & Scooby-Doo Get a Clue.
2:14 & 2:18 Should we be worried about those machines. Do we need to call The Mitchells?
4:03, That made me realize something. You STILL haven't covered the Shrek movies yet...for some reason.
