I suspect that the defective Spen was from the destroyed Note7.
I have a note 8 and it is not damaged but the Spen has just the same problem as he explained it has problem in this small click button

Thank you for sharing this important information. I am rather concerned about the SPen.
One solution: Try a bit of good quality lubricating oil. Like ZX1, which is almost frictionless. Apply a few drops at the click top. Double click the SPen several times. It should loosen the spring mechanism.
Clean off any excess oil the give it a go. Please let us know if it worked!

an idea, try swapping the S Pen from the two Notes. Maybe it's just a faulty mechanism in the S Pen.

Dud the PEN is defective he just revived one that was broke or the spring on there was defective or whatever pressure points they use for the push button.

One feature I used all the time on Note 5 while doing image editing is the ability to pick the color of the pen from a color on the photo using the common "dropper" tool. Lets say for example I had a great picture of myself but noticed a big mustard stain on my shirt. I could use the dropper to select the color of my shirt and more or less make the stain go away. I cannot find this function anywhere with the Note 7! I have looked under every "pen" type and seemingly every sub-menu, but I cannot find the dropper anywhere. Someone please tell me this is not the case and I am simply overlooking it. If it is in fact the case and there is another app that I should be using to edit photos with S Pen functionality, please enlighten me. I cannot figure out why they would have decided to get rid of this simple but useful tool.

I don't know if there's anything you can do to keep that from happening. I got my new note and after 3 months the pen started getting stuck..I can't figure out why..I barely used it, I've never dropped my phone.. I'm thinking that maybe dust went into it or condensation or both and made it stick??

Is that the pen that was in the phone that was submerged in Coca Cola? If so, it may be the sticky sugar in the pen stopping it. I had my friends dog got Gatorade on my phone and the same happened to me. Luckily, rinsing the pen for a while fixed my problem.
I had this same problem! I think it's the spen click mechanism getting sticky/defective. I took my phone to my carrier and they gave me a new pen, and it works perfectly now. Looks like it might affect quite a few
Well it's not about old or new s pen, it's about the problem the s pen can have whether it's new or old. It's good to know that such problem can exist on the note 7 s pen so that people who haven't buy them can reconsider buying and people who have bought it will be careful on their s pen and at least know how to get it out when it stuck like that.

It seems dust and gunk get into the springy mechanism and the rotating plastic crown inside and the spen looses the clicky thing 🙁
Sorry to say but this Video is nonsense... it's like to say not to buy that car beacuse the engine can have a problem.. or not to buy a washing maching becuase can have another problem... etc... Among 10 millions products, you can always find some defects...
you are true, i watched every video about note7 on youtube and only this note has it's own problem, but it can be replaced for free with warranty so this is not mean that the note7 is shit but from 100 pieces of note 7 or any phone there is availability of one wrong one...

I noticed this exact same issue with my S-Pen. I was so disappointed. It happened almost immediately (just a short while after) I tested the phone under water in the bathroom sink. The S-Pen wrote just fine underwater with no issues. This lasted only 30 seconds to a minute under a few inches of water in a sink!
What gives? Any correlation?
A wooden skewer from the grocery store worked perfectly. The lower portion of pen got jammed up inside pretty hard by me before I realized it broke so I was assuming glue or take apart but skewer fit perfectly inside the stuck shell of the S Pen and since the tip of the pen comes to a point, the wood actually wedges very snug to the broken part of Penn

Sure thing. I am sure Samsung would gladly replace the SPen. In fact they would be keen to get hold of the defective one so they can analyse exactly what went wrong and how to make minor corrections to future build.

This video was actually very helpful.. I have a note 8 and my pin got stuck, I didn't know what to do and what ya know! It falls right out when you drop it 😂 or in my case, I just hit it on my hand it and came out
The release of the S-pen from the phone relies on the spring action of the pen (like a ball point pen). Mine does the same thing, it sticks..you can test the pen outside of the Note 7 and see the "click" action sticking...If your S-pen sticks, it will get stuck in the phone. Mine just started doing this today 8/27/2016, and I had my phone in the pool a week ago...guessing water has gotten into the S-pen and has gunked up mechanism. Time to get a replacement S-pen.

My S pen started doing this yesterday night and I've only had the phone 2 days ...... So I contacted samsung and there gonna replace it , messed up part though they want me to mail them the s pen first with a receipt of me buying the phone then 2-7 days mail the new s pen back . So in total I will have to wait 2 weeks to get the s pen........ like really samsung why don't you just ask for my receipt send me one let me use my old one till I get the new one and send the old one back.
that is why they give you extra tips. try changing the tip of the spen which comes in the packaging

Just received my note 7 today. I'm experiencing the same problem. It got stuck when I inserted it in my phone. I tried what you've done just to remove it and it worked. I also tried pressing the button in the S pen alone but it didn't stuck like the other S pen in your video. So I'm not sure if the problem is the S pen or the phone.

i think the damaged s -pen is switched from the damaged phone, my thoughts it makes sense you too k a heavy objects to break to break the 1st damaged note 7 and some how the spen was damaged internally and swapped the s pen from the second note 7 they can match up numbers inside the note7 s-pen to internal numbers on inside serial numbers on phone every phone is assigned a serial number to match note 7 for warranty purposes..
One of my friend bought it and had the same problem. Actually some note 5 phones were defected.
This happened to me the reason why is because my S pen broke into two pecies I didnt mean to drop my phone that night though- (the kind of phone I'm talking about is the Note8 not Note7)
I have the same problem, but if I put the pen in with the thumb button thing facing down it doesn't happen as much for some reason

after i press S Pen few times under water. my S pen stuck like this. But after few days. i think it dry enough. and my Spen not stuck anymore. Because when u press under water. U push water into S Pen. Don't do it.

Same thing happens with my Note 5. Its not a problem with fitting the S pen into the Note. It's actually just the pen. If you take it out and click it a couple of times, chances are, itll get stuck in that exact position. Idk why it happens, maybe the pen is in need of maintenance, or something icky got into it, but as far as I know, it just does it. It just happens a lot more inside the compartment than outside.

Use a needle or a pin to carefully pry up the S Pen where it should spring back normally. or depress the tip of the pen ‘enough’ to hear the ‘click’ that it makes (like a real pen) then it pops out. ?? if these methods worked then its very helpfull for all note7 users and also for you

The spring is the issue, apply some Vaseline near the bottom of the pen tip , it is like the old age ball point pens
run the pen under water and it should solve the issue. on my Note 5 it got sticky after eating something. i ran it under water and the clicker mechanism worked without incident from then on.
My S pen is doing the exact same thing... it is also black, we have a silver and blue note 7 in house as well both pens click sounds stronger than mine.
Maybe it's because this is the same phone you did the drop test on??

probably mixed up the one from the destroyed phone witch was also destroyed lol.
It could be those few that got a fault during the manufacturing process. It always happens. Let Samsung know and they'll give you a replacement. Could be just the S Pen they give you.

That got me wondered. We never had such problems with usual s-pens before Note 5.
the button is a mechanical part now... maybe some particles of dust can affect it's working. You know... like a true pens we are using everyday. I really wonder. And would't be surprised.

You guys he is right I have the Note7 and it's an amazing phone but my sPen got stuck inside and I thought it was a defectived pen and got another one and it got stuck again today. Both times after I used my sPen under water. I don't think the sPen is waterproof as promoted.
